My son was born at 37 weeks. They considered him full term. He didn’t need NICU
37 weeks is full term. My daughter was born 36.5 days, she was called a premie by one day. But didn’t need NICU.
I had diabetes with my twins. They took them out at 37.5 weeks my girl wasnt growing. She was 4lbs and my boy was 5lbs. They spent a day and a half in the nicu and came home with me.
My 36 weeker was fine, no nicu, BUT my 8lb 14oz 40w5d was a nicu baby! All depends on the baby!
That’s a tough one… But honestly I think it depends on the baby if the baby is 8 pounds at 37 weeks you’re probably okay if he is 4 pounds at 37 weeks you’re probably going to be looking at NICU
Im having my baby at 37 weeks the ob said they consider 37 week babies full term so going to nicu will be unlikely unless infection but as for the lungs all depends on the baby
I had a 36 weeker and 2 37 weekers… All 3 were perfectly healthy and went home the next day!
My daughter was born at 35 weeks and she did not need NICU at all
2 of my babies were born at 36 weeks. I brought them home the next day.
Both of mine were born at 37 weeks. Neither needed nicu
I think it depends on the situation & how the baby is. My baby was born at 37 weeks from me having preeclampsia & didn’t have any NICU time.
Mine was born 36 weeks and she was fine, it all depends on their development
My youngest I had at 36 weeks, and he was fine. No NICU for him.
Since you’re on insulin they will monitor the baby in NICU for about 6 hours to make sure his/her sugar levels stay up. If no issues, then they will bring the baby to you.
2/3 kids were born via c section at 38 weeks. They were perfectly healthy. No NICU. I got to hold and breast feed them and leave with them 4 days later
Don’t worry mama, baby will be ok!
My last two were born at 37 (6lbs 9oz)spontaneous and 38 wks(7lbs 14oz)induced… My first was born at a whopping 5lbs 9.2 oz… She was full term and didn’t have to stay in nicu at all… One of the biggest concerns is breathing and temperature regulation… My recommendation is to up your fat intake the last couple weeks or so if you’re worried about weight…
I had GD and i had my son at 37weeks exact. They will just watch the weight. The sono was wrong for me my last one at 36 weeks they told me that he was 7lbs 5oz but a couple days later he weighed 8lbs 14.9oz. Hes 4 months old and very healthy. The only problem i had was he got stuck in the birth canal because he was bigger than my other three children were.
My 35w 1d baby left the hospital with me at 3 days. He was 6lbs 9ozs. He was evaluated by NICU at delivery and that was it.
Our first son was born 37 weeks 5 days. He didn’t need NICU.
Our twins were born 34 weeks 3 days and only spent 6 days in the NICU.
Unless the baby has complications or under development of their lungs it can go home at 36 weeks. Do also remember right now too with Covid it is a different time in many states at hospitals you can’t have visitors not your kids, nobody so be prepared. But I had 5 kids last was gestational diabetes considered as I met all the conditions just never was labeled it but watched constantly. My first baby was 36 weeks and stayed in due to his lungs only because of meconium aspiration and a bit of jaundice he was only there 5 days. Good luck!
My daughter was born at 35 weeks and she didn’t need nicu she was over 7lbs
My 37 week baby did fine although she did need to go under the jaundice lights for a day. My 36 week baby was also fine it just depends on the baby

Really depends how they are when born . My son born at 39 +5 ended up in the nicu on oxygen for a few hours due to meconium in my water and cord wrapped around his neck .
I was induced at 37 weeks… my daughter was healthy and was 6 lbs 9oz 21 1/2 inches…
37 weeks is considered full-term so if everything goes well during labor and the baby doesn’t have any health issues, baby should not need to be in the ICU.
My sonwas born, via c-section, at 36 weeks 5 lbs 10oz. No NICU time but he did have trouble latching and after a month, I ended up just doing just all formula. Fed is best…no rude comments please.
37 weeks should be fine, my son was 35 weeks and weighed over 7 pounds. Good luck.
It depends. My second was 37 weeks and was 5lbs 4oz at birth. She spent no time in the NICU.
Depends may what to watch baby cause of diabetes but my girls were a month early and got to come with me one weighing 4 lbs 3 is and last baby 5lbs 3 oz doc told they are good cause they were doing everthing they should after an extensive check my last one I had diabetes the last 3 months…

I had 2 born exactly 37 weeks and 1 at 36 weeks. None were in nicu
No I was delivered in 35 and 36 weeks
None of my babies need NICU alhamdulilah
My son was born at 37 weeks and needed NICU.
I think it depends on baby and how they are doing
37 weeks would be full term and wouldn’t need nicu unless there was some other issue with him
My son now 10m was born at 37weeks and he was perfectly healthy.
I had diabetes and was scheduled to be induced at 39w but my water broke at 36w and she came the next day. She didn’t spend any time in the NICU and she was 7lbs 13oz
My first was born at 37 weeks via c section and did not he was able to come home with me after like 3 days when I was better
It all depends on the baby. Mine was born at 36 weeks a month early and went gome on time with no nicu or oxygen. But a baby born full term was in nicu on oxygen
All if mine was born between 37 and 38 weeks and none was ever in NICU.
I had my son at 37 weeks and all was fine x we went home 4hours later x
depending on the other high risk issues… no they dont at that far along all body parts have been developed… no worries on latching… baby forth just born at 38 with gd as well
I had my 3rd at 37 weeks for the same reason. He was fit and healthy.
No. I had mine at 34 and she was with me the whole time. You should ask your medical doctor to get you approved for an insulin pump. It would make a huge difference in your life. It’s small, and you can wear it right around your stomach.
I had to have my youngest son at 36 weeks just hours shy of 37 weeks and he didn’t need to stay in NICU he stayed with me the hole time

My son was born at 39 weeks, 9lbs and almost 23 inches and had to go to the NICU because of breathing issues. He was only there for two days though.
Gestational age alone is not a determining factor for the need of a NICU. You can have a 40w delivery and have a baby that may require a NICU admission.
I had my twins at 35+1 and neither of them needed the NICU, home two days after delivery
My last two babies one born in 2019 and 2020 were both born at 37 weeks and neither one had to go into the NICU
Each person is different but I’d talk to your doctor about your concerns they’ll have better answers.
My 2nd and 4th babies where delivered at 37/38 weeks 8lbs and 9lbs. No NICU latched no problem.
I had my boys both at 37 weeks one was 7 pounds and the other one was 8 pounds my first baby stay a extra week because he had jaundice and my 2nd baby for extra day for jaundice as well
37 weeks is considered full term. That’s why they are willing to induce at that time.
Depends on the baby. My 36 week baby did not need the NICU. Every baby and situation is different
Not necessarily, I had both of my boys at 37 weeks and they were both fine.
My 2nd was almost 3 weeks early and she was 8lbs2oz and perfectly healthy.
My son was born at 38 weeks perfect and no NICU
I always have my kids at 38 weeks and always healthy
It really just depends on your individual baby and how developed they are.
My son was born at 38 weeks 5 days and no NICU and he was only 5lbs 6oz! Odds are you’ll be fine. After 36 weeks you are considered full term.
My son was born at exactly 37 weeks and went home 2 days later with me
I had my daughter at 36.5 weeks and she did not need NICU at all. C section and we were allowed to go home day 3
I have 5 out of 6 kids that are healthy n never in NICU all were about that time. Breath it is normal as a mom to worry.
Not not always. Depends on how developed their lungs are.

No my son was 37 weeks was with us entire time, healthy and went home with us .
I had gestational diabetes and had my daughter at 37 weeks, 7lbs 10oz and she was perfectly fine. She is 7 now
i think it depends on baby weight.my son weight is 38kilos at37 weeks.so he dont need to be in NICU.
My stepson was born at 21 weeks if you can even imagine that
Both my girls were early 32 weeks and 37 weeks… no nice for either.
I had baby at 36 weeks induced due to preeclampsia My baby was healthy it just all depends wen you have the baby the outcome
It all depends on the baby. They consider anything after 37 weeks full term.
Usually not but it depends on child. My daughter 6 weeks early and didn’t need ICU; girls also tend to be stronger at birth than boys especially premies. 38 week is full term
My son was born at 37 weeks and was perfect! 7pounds 7oz and were home within 2 days
37 weeks is considered full term. But it all depends on the baby. My son was born at 36 weeks 4 days and that’s considered late preterm baby.
