My doctor said today that 37 weeks is full term babies

37 weeks is considered full term. Anything less is premature. Baby will be fine. Just pray daily. Prayers to you and ur family

My grandson was born at 37 weeks…did fine…came home after 48 hrs… Prayers for you and your babe

Mine was born at 35 weeks , no NICU

My daughter was born at 37+5 all perfect and healthy 7lb 3oz :purple_heart::purple_heart:

I had both my boys at 37 and 38 weeks. They were both fine! No nicu. My daughter on the other hand was 34 weeks and was in there for 4 weeks.

My youngest was 35w2days and no NICU

I would say depends on baby

My first was 36 week , perfectly fine

It really all depends on the baby and situation.

Depends on baby. Weight, eating, vitals.

36 1\2 weeks no problem good luck

Baby should be fine and not need NICU

All depends on your baby but typically that’s a full term baby

My little girl was born at 37wks a d ddint go in the nicu

It all depends on baby and momma. I had a full term baby that spent 7 days in NICU due to white blood cell count being out of whack so antibiotics and tests ordered, and twin boys born at 35 weeks 5 days, that I had steroid shots before, and one of them remained in hospital, being monitored, but NOT in NICU for 5 days due to inability to regulate blood sugar, and the other remained in NICU for 8 days due to pneumonia and needing oxygen and antibiotics. But all are perfectly fine/healthy.

Depends on way too many factors.

I had my last baby at 38 weeks. Her breathing was fast and was in the NICU for about 8 hours for monitoring then in my room. It really depends on how they are doing.

Mine were 36 37 weeks 9.1. 8.15. 6.14 no nicu

Don’t need nicu after 36weeks

Depends on the weight and their breathing

Depends on the baby’s condition

Dependent on so many factors. You won’t know until you know.

36 weeks no NICU stay…

My daughter was born at 37 weeks and she didn’t need the NICU but she did have to spend some time under the biliruben light.

Depends on the condition

Fyi, full term is actually 38-42 weeks. Try not to stress

Varies per situation. Just follow doctor advice. Prayers everything will go fine.

36 weeks and above is considered full term

Probably to make sure the sugars are okay

Had my daughter at 35 weeks she didn’t need NICU thankfully but I had her at a children’s hospital just normal monitoring she only stayed 5 days weighed 4lbs at discharge

I had c section at 37 weeks all good

There is no blanket statement here. Every situation is different.

My son was born at 37 weeks. Weighed 7 lbs. and never went to Nicu.
My daughter was 36 weeks and weighed 6 lbs. never needed Nicu
My other daughter was 38 weeks 6lbs. And perfect as well.

36 weeks is full term

She just turned 43 in july

Depends on the baby but mine didn’t

Depends on the baby. I was 2 days over my due date on my second, she needed 6 days in NICU for her breathing. Might also have been she was covered in poo when she came out.

37 are considered full term

Depends on their health. Period.

Depends on the baby. I had mine at 37 weeks and he was more like 36… just shy of 7lbs, he just stayed a couple extra days because he was losing weight, but he was with me the entire time.

Yes 38 is considered full term …

My baby was born at 37 weeks. He was fine

Yeah and gd babies are normally BIG

Nothing is stupid ask so you can learn from other moms

Some might since diabetic

37 is considered full term.

I had mine early and he was fine

Just depends of the baby … every child is different. Baby born 37 weeks was 8 lb 4 oz … 21 1/2 inch.

My son was born at 36 weeks and didn’t need a NICU. They will probably only need to be in there if there are complications form your GD.

37weeks is considered term

They are full term at that point

Ur baby will be just fine . may be big because of the diabetes

Two of my babies were born at 36 weeks and 4 days they did an amnio in my case to make sure that they the lungs were fully developed. They were so they induced. For one of them it was because she was in distress and for my last 10 years ago I had a huge blood clot in my leg that was threatening my life so I went into labor early and after the amnio they just induce neither one of them had any breathing problems or spend any extra time in the hospital it will be held …they will do some type of test to check their lung development before they induce that would be the only way they would just need NICU if God forbid they came out sick or their lungs hadn’t fully developed yet and they needed extra time to grow

36 is considered full term

37 weeks is considered term

I had to kida at 36 weeks both came home with me n no NICU

I was induced with one at 37 weeks and he needed NICU only because he was 4lbs and couldn’t regulate his sugars so he was always hypoglycemic. my other one induced at 38 weeks and he did not need nicu

I think it depends on the development

The baby will be just fine

Dr scheduled my cesarean at 37 weeks, had a 10 lb turkey and walked out a day later after he was circumcised. No gestational diabetes just produce large babies. Good luck. All the best to you.

If he shows any signs of underdevelopment, yes. I was a NICU mom for months and have seen full term babies there.

Depends on baby :woman_shrugging:t3:

37 wks is considered full term

You should be asking your Dr this not us

The baby will be fine.

Depends on weight and development

No only under 35 weeks

I had my baby at 35weeks 5 days or something and we were fine (he was 5lbs) but healthy and we went home on the third morning.

… why don’t you ask your doctor this???

No …they are full term

My son was born at 37 weeks and he was in NICU for three weeks because he didn’t have his sucking reflex. He had a feeding tube in his nose.

My daughter was 36w1d and was 7lbs 3oz. It just depends on a lot of factors. If your dr has been monitoring everything, I would not worry. Good luck and congrats on your new baby!

My last baby was born at 36 weeks in 1983. She weighed in at 7 lbs. 8 oz. She was released the day after and doctors wanted to keep me another day!

3 of my 4 children were both at 37 weeks. No NICU. They came home with me the following day.

Both mi kids born at 38 weeks. No need for nicu 1st was in the hospital for the standard 2 days, 2nd only 1 day.

My second son was born at 36 weeks 5 days, he was fine with no issues.

Just kind of depends I had my baby at 36 weeks and he went home with me after two days. But my friend had a baby at 37 weeks and he spent a few weeks in the nicu

I have a 3 week old & had gestational diabetes too. Was on pills then insulin. My high risk doctor had me be induced at 38 weeks and 1 day. My son was not in NICU he went home after 2 days of being in the hospital. No problems. He was born 7 lbs 6 oz. Smallest baby I have had ( mama of 5)

My kids were 36 weeks and 35. They. Had no issues. Don’t worry  6 pounds each

My 38 Weeker did not need the NICU. My 36 Weeker did need the NICU but she had breathing issues related to HR Pregnancy.

Baby should be fully developed and fine born at 37 weeks. I had all 3 of my kids early. My son was 3 weeks early and was a perfect healthy baby boy.

My twins were born at 35 weeks and came straight home. We did have to do steroid shots prior to birth but it was worth it

My granddaughter was born at 37 weeks and she didn’t have to go to the NICU. She latched from the beginning on her own with no trouble.

My eldest was born at 36 weeks and had to go to the NICU, he could not breath on his own, it will depend how developed your baby’s lungs are, although it was a traumatic experience today he is a big strong teenager! At 37 weeks all should be ok, if the doctors notice anything they will treat it. Good luck, I hope all goes well

Not always but I’m sure it can happen

My last 2 pregnancies were 37 weeks. Neither needed the NICU. First was 28 weeks and definitely did. He lived 3 weeks in the NICU, until we lost our battle with life. That being said, any baby could be sent to the NICU for a variety of reasons. But simply being 37 weeks pregnant I don’t see why that alone would be a reason to need the NICU. Mine weighed 7 pounds and the other was 8, both born at 37 :slightly_smiling_face:

My now 16yr old sister was born at 37 weeks and she was and still is perfectly healthy. She was only 5lbs 2oz at birth and she now almost 5’9" and roughly 120lbs

37 weeks is considered full term. My daughter was born at 37 weeks and did not need NICU nor any extra treatment.

My first was born at 33 weeks… 6 pounds 9 ounces… He didn’t need nicu… He was fine

It all depends on the baby… I delivered 3 babies… my first full term came home with me second day but he was on the light for almost a week at home.: my second full term spent one week in NICU because he always got too excited to eat so he would forget to breath… and my 3rd she came a little earlier 36 weeks and she was stronger then my boys

It really just depends! My 2nd baby was 40 weeks and 4 days and had to go into the NICU because there was a knot in the umbilical cord and came out weighing 4 lbs! Good luck with everything mamma!

Its case by case but no most babes at 37 weeks will be just fine. I had my son a month early. He was due Oct 15th I had him Sept 13th. He was 6 pounds 4 oz and 23.5 inches long. His eyebrows hadn’t grown in and his finger nails were really short. They kept him in the nicu for a week just to be safe. But he never needed any help with anything.

My guy was delivered just shy of 37 weeks. He was 6 1/2 pounds and came home with me. He did have a slight case of jaundice, but didn’t need to go under the “French fry” lights. Aside from being a little guy for the first few years, he hit all his developmental milestones. I would say we weren’t prepared with enough premie outfits (newborn size was still too big for him). Here he is now, 16 years later. Hugs, mama❤️

Induced at 37 weeks for gestational hypertension. No NICU stay and 21 inches, 7lbs. 15oz. Breastmilk came in no issues, she was 11lbs at her 1 month check up!

My son was born 37 weeks exactly he did spend 13 days in the NICU and was born 4pounds 1 ounce. He will 5 years old in December and is such a firecracker. His doctors were more worried about getting his weight up and regulating his sugar than breastfeeding, because he was burning more calories trying to latch on.

I delivered at 37 weeks baby was just fine!! No NICU needed!! Good luck! He’s 5 now and taller than most other 5yr olds!!

My baby was born at 36 weeks 5 days. We were in the hospital for a week but he was in my room the whole time. Hes almost 8 months now and has been breastfed since birth.

My baby boy was born at 37 weeks 1 day and was perfectly healthy. He was a big boy at 19 1/2 inches long and 8.3 lbs
