37 weeks is considered full gestation!! But I think it will all depends on the health of your baby good luck mama!
My daughter was 36 weeks and 6 days, didnât need NICU and home 3 days later. High risk pregnancy.
Thereâs no guarantee, any baby could potentially need extra help. But my 36 week baby was absolutely fine and needed no extra support whatsoever.
My daughter was born at 36 weeks, weighed 4 lbs, 13 oz, and she did awesome. My son was born at 34 weeks, and he weighed just under 4 lbs and was in NICU for 2 weeks. Each baby is different.
I had my identical twins at 37 weeks and they didnât need NICU, but every case is different.
Nope. My daughter was born at 35 weeks, 5 days, and only spent 1 night in NICU (more as a precaution because to deliver her by VERY emergency c-section due to placental abruption, I was put under general anesthesia)
36 weeks here, also have gestational diabetes on my 3rd pregnancy. though iâm on a high risk pregnancy. donât need to take insulin. IM doctors and Dietician gives me meal plan to be followed strictly, but i also have a cheat day once in a while. with proper diet maintain my sugar. I also have a big baby, no NICU.
Had twins at 36 weeks. 4lbs. 15 oz. and 5lbs. 14 oz. both were not in nice, both healthy. Stayed 6 days in hospital for my high blood pressure, both babyâs in regular nursery
There are a lot of variables that play into that babys are considered term at 36 weeks but again lots of different variables such as size etc
I had my daughter a month early. I also had diabetes but the doctors checked the babies lung development before my csection
The doctor will do whats best for you and the baby!
All 3 of my pregnancies, I delivered at 37wks. Each baby was 5lbs and some oz⌠they were all fine.
My son was born at 36 - he had asthma due to under developed lungs but was not in NICU and he outgrew the asthma and is a perfectly healthy and athletic boy.
I had my son at 36 and a half induced because I had preeclampsia. My son was 7 lbs and healthy other than needing a bottle ASAP cuz he had taken my insulin and his sugar was low.

My two kids were born at 38 weeks and were both 7lbs 11oz. Iâve seen other babies born before 38wks, I think 36 weeks and no need for nicu.
Youâll be full term & NICU shouldnât be needed unless there are complications.
I had my son at 29 weeks. He lived in NICU for 2mo after 1 we tried latching and bottles.
My daughter was born at 37 weeks and she was totally healthy and started nursing right away.
The possibility is slim of needing NICU, but always a possibility. By 36 weeks unless changed, I was told was full term for baby and would not unless there was a complication. I would say baby will be fine unless they see something once here
My son was born at 36 weeks and he was healthy as can be no NICU for us
My son was 36 weeks and 6 days. He was sent to NICU but only because he couldnât maintain his sugar.
I had my kids at 36⌠well my son was 36wks 1 day and my daughter was exactly 36 weeks. Both went home normal and were good
Thereâs no actual answer to this question. Some babies go to the NICU when theyâre born at 40 weeks and some babies born at 36 weeks donât.
My son was born at 37 1/2 weeks - 5lbs 11oz he was in nicu for 2 days due to low blood sugar (i also had gestional diabetes at 33 weeks)

I am a type 1 diabetic who was induced at 37 weeks. My boy was 8lbs 5oz with no NICU time. My understanding is that the highest risk for newborns of diabetic mothers is low bloodsugar shortly after delivery because the motherâs blood sugar was high during delivery.
I was induced at 37 wks with my second and she was fine, no NICU and she did latch to breastfeed as well.
My son was 37 weeks. No NICU. He latched perfectly as far a breast feeding. Had to stay a few days in hospital because he was jaundice. Other than that no problems.
My babies were both 28 week C-sections and perfect. No oxygen or extra heat needed.
It depends on the babies . My twins were born at 38 weeks and had no NICU time

I had twins at 33 weeks and brought one home four days later at 4 lbs 13 oz. the other did require NICU. It depends on the baby, really.

I also had the steroids shots before my C-section at 37.5weeks and stayed at hospital 4 days. We were alright and she is flourishing 9 years later.
Depends on baby. My youngest was born at 37+3 & he was 7lbs 15oz, had some issues with his sugar the first night but then he was great
It totally depends on the baby. My daughter was born at 33 w 2 days and didnât need the NICU.

37 weeks is technically full term, but no one will know until the baby is born, each baby is different, Iâd just pray and trust that God will let your baby be healthy upon delivery
Iâve had 3 kids 1st and last born at 37 weeks, both over 8lbs and no problem latching. My middle and only girl was born at 35 weeks she didnât spend 1 min in the NICU. She also had no problem latching but was more susceptible to thrush

All three of mine were born at 37 weeks due to high blood pressure, and gestational diabetes.
We were out of the hospital in two days each time! They were all perfect and healthy! No worries mama!
38 weeks is actually âstill consideredâ a full term pregnancy. My son was born at 36wks 5 days and he needed NiCU for breathing issues, was only 5lbs, spent just a week and was able to come home. My 2nd child (my oldest daughter) was born at 38 weeks 6 days and she gave me the most problems the whole pregnancy so I figured she would need it but she didnât she was just small. My 3rd child (youngest/last child) was born at 37 weeks. She was my biggest baby and she didnât need anything at all. So just all depends on the baby really. If the doctor is okay with doing it that early but youâre not then speak up and voice your concerns but I think with the given circumstances the doctor is doing what is best for both you and baby. Good Luck and Congratulations on the bundle of joy!!
No. The baby should not need the NICU. I have 11 and my last baby was born at 35-36 weeks and needed the NICU due to underdeveloped lungs and he was born at 5lbs 6oz. But he progressed fast and came home in 2 weeks.
37 weeks is considered full term and that is why they can induce you at that time. They try not to without a medical reason because the closer you get to 40 weeks the more developed the lungs are but most babies do just fine at 37 weeks. My 3rd was born at 35 weeks due to complications and we went home 3 days later. She was 4lbs 11oz and I brought her home at 4lbs 1oz. She is now 13 and a lot bigger lol.

My first born and last born were born at 38 weeks and both weighed over 9 lbs. and they did good. My middle one was born at 37 weeks and 3 days. She weighed 6lbs 10 ozs but did fine. None of mine had to be in NICU!!

My daughter didnât heed nicu, but unfortunately never was able to latch. I pumped for months. I donât think this is very common though.
My 1st was born on his due date and was in NICU for 3 days due to a stressful delivery, cord wrapped around his neck, and he had breathed in some nasty stuff.
It all depends, you wonât know until baby is born. My second son was born at 40 weeks 4 days and needed the NICU for 8 days.

My third was 35 weeks, 5lbs 11oz, no NICU. My fourth was 35 weeks, 5lbs 8oz, no NICU but did have to have a little extra oxygen after birth. We stayed one extra day at the hospital. My fifth, born at 34 weeks, 4lbs 9oz, he did spend 9 days in the NICU. The Dr did not clear out his airways, and he breathed in the amniotic fluid.

I was induced at exactly 38 weeks and we didnât need the NICU
Depends on the baby, my middle son was born at 37 weeks and a couple days, he got to come home with me no problem.
My son was born at 39 weeks and had to go to the NICU for 2 hours because his oxygen kept dropping.
My daughter was born at 37 weeks and she never needed the NICU and she breastfed fine. As long as there is nothing wrong with the baby he should be fine.
Not necessarily. Depends on babyâs needs. Mine was but it was because his temp was low and jaundiced. He was ok though.
I had my son at 37 1/2 weeks and he was 5lbs 10 oz. His lungs were fine, he was a little jaundiced but he got to go home 2 days later.
My 37 weeker had to go to NICU due to meconium aspiration. He had pneumonia. I had severe preeclampsia and had an emergency csection.
My son was born at 36weeks 5days he didnt need the NICU
He was only 5pd 11oz
We stayed in for a week becoz he was jaundice badly tho
Not as long as the baby is breathing right and eating, and has nothing else wrong. 37 weeks is not really premature.
My 4th was 36w⌠he was 7.3 and looked like the Arnold Schwarzenegger of the NICU! He was in there for 1 day and came home after 4. Good luck and congratulations on your bundle!!!
I was a day shy of 34 weeks so my son was in NICU, I was told if he was a day later he wouldnât have been admitted to NICU
My grandson was born at 36 weeks, weighed almost 8lbs and came home the next day. No NICU or special care required. This was 14 years ago

I think it just depends on how labor goes and how your baby is doing after birth. My daughter was 36 weeks and was fine.
Had my son at 34 weeks
He was jaundice and needed a few days in hospital but was fine other than that
Best of luck
I had a 35, 36 and 42 weeker the 35 and 36 were watched an extra day, but they kept me for an extra day so my babies were never in the nicu

No 37weeks its ok to have a baby. They only go to nicu if something is wrong with them.
