How to clean a diaper rash?

Don’t put anything on him when he goes diaper free, that way it gets air! I always just rinse my daughter’s behind and such when she poops and has bad diaper rash.

I was just about to give the same advice as Rebecca Gregory. It was what I used on my babies and it works really well.

Change the brand of diapers you use

You can use Corn starch Comfortine my mom used for years it worked great .

Wash him with antibacterial soap n use candid b lotion

Lotriman…sounds weird but works. Air out with nothing on.

My daughter got some pretty bad ones due to very sensitive skin and my go-to that fixed it up in a day or 2 has been a layer of aquaphor and sprinkle 100% pure cornstarch NOT baby powder but actual corn starch. Also, give him a few breaks from the pamper a few times a day so he can air out. Diaper rashes worsen with moisture.

Warm bath with his soap. Let him sit in there and play till water is cold. Then either let his butt air dry or pat it dry. Let him be diaper free for awhile. Then put on a load of diaper cream for bed. Every diaper change let him be free for alil.
This is what I did with all three of my girls.

Potty train him. No more diapers=no more rash.

The wipes your using and incorporate more fruit and veggies each meal. Strawberries, blueberries non salted green beans it helps the poops be looser

Take him to the pediatrician and find out what is causing it.
Let them tell you how to treat it.

Sit him a tubby on a mound of baking soda

Corn startch
Desitin

Corn starch is good.

Corn starch works wonders

Put milk of magnesia on the skin

My mom used to fry up /brown some cornstarch and flour and put it on my brother’s bottom. It worked like magic everytime just lightly brown.

Use cornstarch my son used to get super bad one this is the only thing I found that actually helped it dries it out instead of keeping it moist with the a and d. I would not continue to use anything that adds moisture

We always used aquaphor it was amazing!

Baking soda bath will help also!

Let him dry out after the bath. Do not put anything on it. It needs some air time.

My granddaughter has this issue when teething. We use Canestan cream. Only thing that works. I know it’s for yeast infections but diaper cream is worse for her.

Walmart sell a cream called “ Butt cream “. Very good. Usually heals rash up
in a couple of days. We used it on newborn in the hospital.

It could be yeast I would take your child in.

I wised the browned flour and cornstarch on my boys. Ekie looking but did the work

Mix up some A&D with Mylanta and make a paste. Sometimes when teething their BM’s get very acidic and hurt that tender area.

Water…followed by air

He might need medicated diaper cream. Call your pediatrician.

Try Bag Balm in the green can.

They have special cream and yes let him be diaper free so it can heal up. Ask your pediatrician for the rash cream.

OTC Yeast cream will do the job frfr.

My Baby had the same issue. We were at the ER for something unrelated but I brought it up to the Doctor. She advised me to put either Vaseline or Aquaphor Vaseline or Cream. Applying it’s like literal globs. To just completely cover the area heavily and when she did need a diaper change to really just wipe away where it was necessary and leave the product I applied on instead of wiping everything off every diaper change. It worked so well and really helped.

They gave me Vaseline at the hospital and at home I used the Aquaphor cream. Careful though I noticed when the rash was completely gone I would still add a light amount just to prevent but her skin started peeling so I switched to the Aquaphor Vaseline as a daily use until I felt that she definitely didn’t need anything. I haven’t had an issue since.

Cornstarch, the pharmacist told me to also try athletes foot cream when my oldest had it…worked like a charm and is not expensive

This is the best stuff ever!

Sounds like a yeast infection.

It could be yeast and none of the normal stuff works on that cause it’s a fungus. Dry dry dry is how to treat it. And a basic anti- fungle cream the more you use the other stuff the worse it will get. Athletes for cream is the simplest and it works but let that little butt get some air to it after a bath.

Put a hand full of baking soda in his bath water then use Resinol on the rash. Hope this helps.

Monastat and plain non flavored yogurt works amazing

Desitin ointment. 27 yrs working hospitals and nursing homes, Never failed to heal and protect. No to petroleum jelly and Vaseline. Both hold in heat and do not allow the skin to breath. No baby powder, curdles up and causes more skin problems. No apple or orange juices. Please try desitin, it really is the best. Change frequently and gently wash before desitin.

Let air dry as much as possible

You can buy athletes foot cream at cvs it’s what a dr prescribes for yeast it maybe a yeast diaper rash and baby may need antifungle to clear it

Try beaudraus butt paste. You can find it by the diaperene and other diaper stuff. Works great!

Might have turned into a yeast infection which is extremely painful for them. I’d take him to the Dr and get it checked out. Buy water wipes or use wet paper towels to clean him

May be allergic to diapers

I swear going all natural with my son ,had the worst bum Rash ever and it was gone in two hours

Coconut oil And corn starch

When I bathe him I used to put him in baking soda and oatmeal

Use cornstarch, I pour a liberal amount whenever my little has a diaper rash as it helps absorb moisture. I also use a/d or some variety and then a liberal amount of cornstarch.

Moma try maziena i was tied of buy creams that are so expensive and one day I tried maziena and boom

Buy a tube of butt paste. Its sold in the baby section at Walmart.

Butt paste ( maximum strength)(red) just put a bunch of it on. it works great my daughter also gets bad diaper rashes and her doctor told me to use that on her. Make sure the area is clean and pat dry then apply the butt paste.

Keep giving frequent baths to help clean up. And make sure it’s super dry!!! The best thing I found when my son went through this was the Boudreaux’s Butt paste.
A&d didn’t seem to work when it was a bad rash.

Also if you think it’s really bad after a couple days trying like hell to get it under control. Call doc and they can prescribe you the good stuff !

Ummmm…doctor’s appt.

Burn some flour and put on him that’s what I used on my grandkids and my kids

Corn starch put like baby powder

Cornstarch was the only thing that helped my kids when they had diaper rashes

Wink well bum balm…works miracles! It will be 1000% better after one use and it’s natural.

Use cloth diapers he might be allergic to pampers or Luvs my son was allergic to pampers

I have two kids and they got bad rash because of the diapers or wipes so I would do alcohol feee scent free but I would put two spoons of baking soda in the bath and them sit in it and the red butt baste did wonders but leaving them on a towel butt dry no diaper would help so much! Take your kiddo off diapers asap! Do cloth or just sit them on :toilet: till they go it’s how I had to train at first for my boys

I used this when my daughter was baby and never had an issue with rashes.

Your 2 year old? Try potty training him, he’s too big to still be in diapers :woman_facepalming:

Sometimes it actually is a yeast infection and needs medication from the doctor.

Use aquaphore at least I think that’s how it’s spelt  should be able to find it at Walmart! When my little one has a rash from teething he gets them to the point he bleeds but a few days of that and it helps clear everything up pretty fast.

It needs open to the air l, and all the oil products are holding it in. A dusting of corn starch and let him go diaperless as much as possible.

Coconut oil and non fragrance baby wipes

Maybe time to go to the pediatrician. Could be a yeast infection. Try pampers aqua wipes while he has the rash it doesn’t hurt like the others do.

Aquaphor works very well

No Vaseline it holds in heat and moisture

Have you taken him to a doctor? Could be a yeast infection and the only thing that will get rid of it is an anti fungal cream. Walmart has it.

Honestly I’d just bathe him each diaper but definitely dr as well to rule out infection

Need to make sure the area is dried thoroughly after cleaning, before adding a barrier cream

After his bathe let him air dry. The skin is going to be fragile . After it’s good and dry then desitin the crap out of it. That always worked for me unless it’s fungal. If you don’t know what that looks like and can go to doctor get it checked out. Good luck you got this!!

Boudreaux’s Butt Paste max strength. Its miracle paste, works every single time. I get it at Walmart.

Try Calmoseptine cream at your local pharmacy

Put the Vaseline on thick and then put Balmex on top of it . Every single time you change your baby . Definitely leave diaper off when you can

Pure vitamin e oil. My son’s great grandma showed me this and it was a miracle cure

I used bag balm, for animals but u can buy it in the drug stores. Works wonders.

brown some flour on a pan in the oven. cool and sprinkle on

I done brown white flour n let it cool off m rub it on. It has work for me when mine girls was a baby

Happened with both of our kids just because they had such sensitive skin. Use baby powder or corn starch first to dry it, like 20 or 30 minutes. Our dr then recommended baby aquaphor and it worked like a charm. If you keep applying cream your just keeping the skin moist.

Cornstarch helps but if it is really bad could be yeast

Vaseline & anything with petroleum jelly only locks moisture in it. Domesboro is amazing just add one packet to the bath water & let him soak for 15 mins or so then air-dry.

Corn starch has never failed me no matter how bad my son’s diaper rash is. :woman_shrugging:t3: Worth a shot…
