How to clean a diaper rash?

Nystatin or foot fungus cream cut with a tiny bit of any rash cream with zinc in it. My youngest daughter gets AWFUL rashes they make her bleed and this is what works

Swear by this, it’s amazing

Cornstarch
Or change the diaper brand or formula, if you’re breastfeeding it may be something you’re eating/drinking

If it’s not cleared up in 5 days or improved after using butt paste and baby power.
Keep child dry and air out.

If the child is covered in bumps it’s highly likely yeast and needs a yeast cream.

If child has large welts and they are warm it’s staph and needs antibiotics.

Change the brand you are using.

I mixed Vaseline with the neosporin +pain relief ointment. Worked very well and also eased the pain

Zinc and castor oil ointment.

I was testing my daughter for what I thought was a diaper rash. It turned out to be a yeast infection, which most over the counter diaper creams feed yeast. Let her sleep without a diaper a few nights and would pit her in the tub to clean off her bottom and apply Aquaphor (doctors orders). Only used Aquaphor after that. It is also good for dry skin and other skin irritations and cuts and scrapes.

Stop slathering Vaseline on it, the skin can’t breathe!

Use diaper rash cream not jells.

Sounds like his poo is a bit acidy try the potty May be he will start to use it while he is sore instead of nappies

Extra strength desitin is the only thing that works

Girl I know this sounds weird as hell, but take some cornstarch and dust his diaper with it. Make sure his butt is completely dry before you put it on. It works better if the cornstarch is coming out of the fridge. Just let it sit there until you change him again and do it as often as you need to. It clears it up soooo fast. I thought my mama was off her rocker when she told me about it until I tried it myself. It’s worked with both of my girls!

Corn starch will take away a diaper rash right now

Try switching his milk my son was getting bad rashes and I never let him stay in a dirty diaper I switched to nondairy and it went away with A&d

Bephanten and metanium, you might need a prescription for the metanium

Corn starch is the best ! Plain corn starch. They stop crying an pain goes away . It is a miracle worker ! Put plenty on . Stop using ointment r greasy ointment. I use corn starch in summer under my breasts for rash an pain. Under my stomach for being over weight it is awesome !

Vaseline prevents the skin from breathing use cream designed for diaper rashes

Try not to use vaseline, better sudocream, and Maybe try to potty train If possible :crossed_fingers:

Vaseline would not be giving bubs enough relief. Make a paste with corn flour and water, it’s the absolute best

I would stop using vaseline and use audio cream instead. Keep nappy off for a bit.

Desitin and Caldesen powder over it. Works all the time.

Not much you can do.:blush::+1:

He needs to be changed more often, one or two pees per diaper, since my son was a newborn anytime he was sitting in his dirty diaper he would get rashes so then I was told that frequently changing prevent it, I got lazy when he was about 1.5 and he got a mild rash but it was really bugging him so we started changing after every two pees again and haven’t had this issue in a long while

I used a itty bitty touch of Desitin and corn starch after a gentle wipe of witch hazel.

I used udder cream u can get it on Amazon

Corn starch mama! I swear by it!!

if you’re in Australia. Daktozin is amazing.
it was the only thing that helped my children’s nappy rashes. and it even helps with chafing on your thighs, clears it pretty much overnight.

Diaper free time does help even if it’s only 30 minutes

My daughter has really sensitive skin, if I put ANYTHING, including Vaseline or aquaphor on her diaper rash it would cause it to blister up. Just try to change diaper ASAP and whenever you do notice a rash give him a bath and let him air dry before putting a diaper on

Canesten cream its its broken skin should clear him up a bit in a day or two, depending on where you are based, there’s a metanium cream it’s a yellow tube does wonders mixed with vasoline! I’ve also heard of egg Whites its suppose to be really good for bad bad rashes! My two boys have never had a bad rash but when they get a little red I would yous bepanthan but not sure if you’d be able to get it where you are though but it’s another one that’s good for every nappy change also, don’t be letting him sit in a wet nappy for long keep changing every hour or so many pees it’ll also help heal him that bit quicker. Hope you get sorted x

Zinc and castor oil. Gets rid of it and if u continue to use it will prevent it. Never failed for my 3 kids and 6 grandkids, we still use it for sore bottoms now. Can’t beat it, make sure you plaster it on well.

No Vaseline holds moisture in it needs to dry out baby powder my son wasn’t doing well with anything my great granny told me to brown all purpose flour in oven to brown cleared up in days, hope it works

Bag Balm is a well-known American farm and folk remedy that’s been around since 1899, and for good reason. It’s a lanolin rich, slightly antibacterial ointment that was originally used to keep cows’ udders from chapping during cold Vermont winters. Works great for diaper rash.

Desitin worked for me.

This stuff is the best! Also use cornstarch powder on top. I use it on both my kids. Also diaper free for maybe a little bit will help air out.

Use Aquaphor only… A and D ointment is too thick.

If it’s been more than 4 days might have a fungal infection take them In ain’t nothing wrong with making sure he gets the right treatment especially if you need stronger zinc ointment

Don’t wipe when he poops. Do rinses wiping is very painful when they have a rash. Get a bowl of water put wipes in the water and rinse or tub whatever you got to do but don’t wipe.

Also baking soda helps with the burn you can add a little baking soda to water when doing the rinses

Baby monkey butt powder! It’s awesome!

Persistent diaper rash might indicate a yeast infection.

Let him free ball it for a while between diaper changes.
Bath when diaper is changed and let him air dry.

Calmoseptine. It stays on the skin longer. Then use A&D to remove it

Calmaseptine is the best. Get it from pharmacy counter but no need for a RX.

I swear by aquafor and u should only put diaper rash meds on 3 or 4 times day everytime is to much, if possible let him run free w bo diaper to air out. Good luck mama

Conotrane I found is the absolute best I still use it now for myself and 8 year old

During the day, let him be without a nappy. It needs to dry up, keeping it wet just feeds it. This may be a good time to toilet train him

When my daughter had that bad of a rash the doctor prescribed a cream maybe call the doctor see what they say

Use the rash cream but also wipe him with a wet rag instead those baby wipes burn if they are raw

Paladin and a soapy wash cloth instead of baby wipes

I swear by Boudreauxs Butt Paste. I’ve used just about everything, and NOTHING makes my boys diaper rash disappear faster than that stuff. We’re talking bad rash almost GONE in 24 hrs.

Use desitin butt cream that stuff is heaven sent and let him run around naked to dry off instead of rubbing with towel that hurts. For a little while after bath let run around naked the air helps over keeping his bum covered in the moist diaper pull up… that’s what I had to do with my oldest when he was a toddler and it worked like a charm… good luck

You may be keeping it to most with all the ointment and vaseline… bath and let run free and a trip to Dr. Needs more than home remedies.

put vaseline on and then crumple wax paper til its soft and put it over the vaseline overnight

Oh if your wipes have aloe in them he might be allergic to it, mine was…gave him open sores…

Corn starch! Swear by it.

Timodine cream and leave the nappy of as much as possible.

Keep it dry. After cleaning him up, pat dry and let him “air out” for 30-45 minutes at a time (or between the times he doesn’t use the bathroom) my son got them really bad when he was a baby, and the only thing that helped was a very thin coat of A&D ointment and then letting him run diaper free, and this would be the perfect time for potty training and let him go completely diaperless and just take him to the bathroom every few hours

A great-grandma’s advise?? Ditch the paper diapers and get cloth ones. |
I know that is not a popular suggestion, but believe me, it works much better.
Even thou the paper ones were being sold when my girls were babies, they always wore cloth ones that I washed in mild soap (and horrors to the younger people) they were dried out in the sunshine and fresh air.

Oatmeal bath works like a charm for my little man we do it at night and by the next morning most of it is cleared up

An old school Dr suggested Lamisil powder when my son had a bad 1 from daycare all those years ago. It did work very well.

Don’t laugh…liquid antacids. Worst rash my daughter ever had (she’s 36 now) that no conventional cure was helping was gone in a few days using it directly on the rash, not taking it by mouth.

Dermatologist. I went through hell to find out my daughters rash was actually psoriasis. He gave me a cream to use and within a few days it was gone for good.

Air seemed to clear it up in no time.

Try Crisco or take him to the doctor

Olive oil and zinc cream mixed together

I use baby powder between cream and it REALLY helps a lot. My 2.5 year old girl is having a real rough time atm with her diaper rash.

Call the Dr. Could be yeast related.

Maizena paste smeer op.en los doek.bietjie oop

Definitely take into a pediatrician. It could be a yeast infection.

Talc egg White and sudocreme

The only ointment that worked for my boys was boudreauxs butt paste- maximum strength

Cornstarch and also leave diaper off for a while. You will have to keep an eye open in case they need potty time .Great time to potty train.

Cornstarch is the best. Clear it right up

Vaseline!!! All diaper rash ointments I used took forever or didn’t work. My dad recommend Vaseline. Works really well. Comforting to the babies and goes away quickly. I now tell my kids to use it on the grandbabies.

Wash, rinse, pat dry. Use corn starch. It’s the best home remedy. And yes, keep the diaper off when possible.

Change the brand of diapers you are using!! Use “Buttpaste” as well, it’s high in zinc and will cure that rash in no time. Also, letting the bum air dry for a day helps as well. But DEFINITELY change the brand of diapers!!!

Boudreaux’s Butt Paste works great!

Aquaphor butt paste and cornstarch every change. Also, depending on how bad it is maybe take your kiddo to the doc. We tried it ALL and turned out to be a yeast infection rash

well, by now he should at the stage of toliet training, but to get rid of diaper rash , try something with a lot of zinc in it that is used for diaper rash . before putting on any gream wipe his bttm with soap and water to clean first than apply the zinc . his diaper rash should be gone with in a few days !

Vitamin E directly on the sores

Sounds like a prescription cream is needed

Do not use any kind of ointments! It holds moisture in and if you use corn starch it will draw moisture OUT! Trust me baby #3 and I’ve never used an ointment…ever.

Could be a yeast infection which requires a prescription

Could he be allergic to something? The diaper, whatever ointment you’re using, wipes, etc?

Could be an over grown yeast problem, I delt with it, with my two boys 3 and 1. Dr should give you some antibiotics cream. After bath time let him sit and air dry for atleast 30mins, pat dry don’t rub. Put the medicated ointment on first. And then switch between the ointment and aquaphor, also use burnt flour or cornstarch. Works amazing, it’s the only thing that helped me.

I used Bag Balm (original green tin) and never had a problem with rash.

Use corn starch, like for cooking…

We always put a layer of triple antibiotic ointment on then a layer of Desitin cream it seals in the antibiotic and keeps wetness away.

Hang in there mama. Desitin and A&D never worked for my daughter. Sometimes a lukewarm soft washcloth feels better than a cold wipe. I alternate between bag balm and aquaphor and will do a thick layer each diaper change with some cornstarch baby powder on top. It creates a paste that protects the skin from the next pee or poop.
Making sure there is no soap in the bath, washing body abd hair right at the end and/or rinsing their skin after draining the water before getting out of the tub can help ease soap irritation on the rash as well.
