After my girl got lice and shampoos didn’t work a coworker gave me a tea tree oil, lavender, and olive oil mixture. I put it on and put a shower cap on from morning until night time and just stayed with her while she was napping just in case. Then i seperated her hair into sections and combed and picked the left over stuff with my finger. Repeated agin for 2 weeks. She had passed them to me to so i did the treatment, combed, and flat iorned my hair too. Works every time she has gotten them
You might need to see if she’s getting them from somewhere. My stepdad had lice 4 times and we found out a untreated child was in her class.
Condition and comb repeat and repeat and then every other night till gone , but then at 3 times a week forever xxx
I heard coconut oil and mayo in a shower cap works
Take her to her ped. Tell them you’re having a hard time with it they will give her shampoo that works really well without all the bad ingredients that’s in the shelf shampoos. Also baking soda and vinegar…
Do u happen to have a lice treatment salon nearby? Where we lived did! I feel your pain
Call pediatrician ask for prescription and make sure she’s not playing with someone that has lice
Pour 1/2 gallon of apple cider vinegar on it .comb it with nit comb while wet.
Saturate her hair in mayo then cover it with like a shower cap for a hour or so (the longer the better) then comb with nit comb… Shampoo ( may need a couple of washes)…
Get a hair straightener. I ended up having to burn those suckers after 6 months of trying when my daughter was small. Only burned her head a couple of times.
Put tea tree oil on her hair and comb it through with a nit comb. You might want to use a tea tree oil shampoo on her hair for a couple of weeks in case someone in her class has them and isn’t getting treated for them.
If she goes to school or daycare make sure they know do they can check other kids or notify parents
You, your daughter, and whoever else lives with you both need to go to a picker.
Ask your doctor for a rx for Ovide. It’s good stuff!
Then pour vinegar over her head
After you get it taken care of they have a leave in conditioner/detangaler at walmart that keeps her from getting it again. It’s called fairy tales it’s like 12$.
Go to the pediatrician and ask for Spinosad (prescription)
You have to brush out the eggs and nits. My daughter had it forever and I kept going thru it. I tried everything I’ve read thru on here. I finally took her to a salon that specializes in lice removal. They had her come in every 7-10 days for three sessions. That’s the only way to get them all out.
I have recently heard that tea tree worked for someone I know who was struggling with the same problem
My mom used kerosene once. Never got them again
LiceFREE spray worked amazing with our daughter. You spray let and let them play as it dries. Wash out and comb out. It works amazingly and it doesn’t hair the hair.
You need to comb through her hair daily (for at least a week) and pick out the eggs/bits/bugs. Almost obsessively. Also, go bare bones with blankets/pillows. What you do use, I would wash daily. Vacuum daily. It’s sucks big time, but is the only way to completely rid of them. I’m a mom, and I nannied. I’ve been through this quite a few times. It is the worst, but you can do it! Just have to be on top of it.
Urgent care can give you something. Gets rid on one wash
Curly girl here.
1 Wash with vinegar. 2 Comb with coconut oil.
3 Use diffuser on hair dryer to heat the hair.
4 Comb.
Repeat. Keep hair oiled. Like not dripping but put it in a clip to keep it off her shirt or you will get oil spots. It will be straight and easier to comb too. Comb multiple times a day. Heat at least twice a day.
As was recommended above, flat iron helps but you have to get the scalp too so the hair dryer does well with that. Keep your hand near so you don’t burn her head.
Not sure where you are located, but services likes these can help a lot! Maybe you’d be able to find something similar close to you! Good luck!
Try tea tree oil…Also did you use the Nix whole treatment? They use a conditioner with it…keep her on tea tri oil by putting it into her regular shampoo…it helps it not coming back…there is also have a shampoo called lice free. Use it for two weeks before going back to normal shampoo mixed with tea tri oil. That is what we used when she ended up with it after a sleep over.
Cut her hair way off so it’ll be easier to get rid of them…just sayin…
My niece Aaliyah had the same problem I had to straighten her hair piece by piece keeping the side that hadn’t been done yet in a tight bun and what had been done in a tight bun… It took forever pulling nits out strand by strand but it worked
Dye her hair or cut it off…pretty much the only options.
After you get it taken care of put a few drops of tea tree oil in the shampoo she uses that should keep her clean from then on.
Do not use dryer hang outside pillow blankets everything
What worked for us was we bleached my daughter’s hair one shade. It ruins the hair follicle just enough that the bugs can’t lay their eggs.
Hair dye kills em too. But u still need to treat again in 7 days
Mayo!! Apple cider vinegar! Drench her head in either, wrap in a plastic head wrap (or a plastic shopping bag), leave on about an hour, rinse and comb out the dead bugs. You’re suffocating them this way, it kills the bugs and the nits (and makes it so the nits arent stuck to the strand of hair for easier removal, im pretty sure they’ll just wash out after the treatment)… do the mayo/vinegar rinse twice for super heavy hair just in case.
Tea Tree oil. Cover every inch of hair then wrap up tight for 20 minutes. Make sure you SOAK the scalp. Then just brush the nits out as best you can. Repeat weekly till gone. My daughter has gotten them at least 5 times this past year because her best friend at school has super thick hair and I noticed she had it when she stayed the night. Everything I’ve tried tea tree oil works the best and is cheaper than lice shampoo.
Tea tree oil shampoo an conditioner will work an the spray that keeps them away
You need to treat your whole house, couches, carpet, all pony’s and brushes. Any clothes that are not in drawers need to be rewashed and dried. Any toys with fur need to go in the dryer too or put in black garbage bags for a few weeks till they die. It can take more than 1-2-3 treatments especially if their hair is thick. My opinion. Cut the length off yourself so it’s easier to comb through all her hair then when they are gone you can get it shaped and cut right.
Mayo! Lather hair very well. Wrap hair in plastic bag or plastic wrap really tight no air holes it will get hot and itchy. Just smack it lol after awhile comb it out and wash. May need to repeat depending on severity and you can always finish off with a lice treatment as the final bang.
What Megan Griffin said!!!
The Dr can prescribe a better shampoo that actually works I had to get it for my kids and it worked great
Listerine, regular. Leave in for 2- 3 hours
Saturate hair with a thick oil, like olive oil. That suffocates them. Then rinse with apple cider vinegar and it will help the eggs come out. Then keep tea tree oil, shampoo/ conditioner, and the leave in spray, in the bathroom and use it religiously! Tea tree is a natural repellent bugs hate.
My mom soaked our heads in mayonnaise when we were kids & got it I think it worked?
Flat iron. You’ll hear the eggs pop
It only kills the big bugs not the eggs ! But yes flat iron
The car!!! Everyone forgets to spray/clean the car, and then they keep coming back. If you haven’t, give it a try. Also tea tree oil
Maybe time to take her to the doctor
Coke cola put on head let dry on there get all the way to scalp then rinse suppose to rinse eggs and nits right out smothers them from the stickyness
Ide flat iron it then clean it if the curls are a problem for cleaning
Spray the beds too. Put rubbing alcohol from the pharmacy in a squirt bottle and spray down the whole mattress.
Tea tree oil shampoo conditioner and straighten hair
I have found from experience that after the treatment wether organic or chemicals.combing thru the hair to get the dead lice an also the nits, using white vinegar to help get those tiny nite has worked the best for on my kids.the vinegar breaks down the sticky stuff that makes the nuts stay.I hope you find what works best for you.teatree oil in a spray bottle with water every morning they get a spritz before going to school so they don’t bring them nasty things home again
I have think curly hair too and had gotten lice real bad when I was a kid and my mom shaved my head lol
Mayo on the head with a plastic hair cap, it will kill the lice and the eggs. also we did essential oils, I have super thick curly hair and so does my sister. All stuffed animals have to go into plastic bags for a few months, mattress cleaners, all clothing, blankets, make sure you spray car seats, rugs, carpet clean, ask for a friend to help you if needed. anything you can wash with warm/hot water. Good luck
They have to be pulled by hand (the nits) it’s time consuming
Put mayonnaise in it over night I understand that works maybe with a shower cap
Comb her hair out put conditioner in it and comb until you cry
My aunt put kerosene on our heads. We didn’t have lice, but I’ve never been so sick in my whole life. Please do not use kerosene. That was 30+ years ago and I still feel physically ill if I smell kerosene.
You have to do a follow up in 14 days in case any nits survived, as the cycle is 14 days. If you don’t do this you will never get rid of them. Good luck.
Sit and pick each one out and comb through constantly it’s the only thing that worked
Take her to the dr for prescription medication.
Wash her hair and pick out eveything you find. Lice can’t live in dirty hair… use mouse or gel or hairspray in her hair, 24 hours a day, everyday for 3 weeks… keep looking for anything you may have missed during that three weeks and they should be gone after 2 weeks but I like to be carefull in case who ever she got them from isnt.
Med lice it’s amazing I used it on my granddaughter and she has thick curly hair as well it’s awesome
Look for a shop that removes lice. They know how to do it!
You got to treat everything, pillows, stuffed animals, the floor, every where she’s been or goes, if friends come over make sure they know,if she’s in school don’t let her out her coat with the other kids.
Use a blow dryer too. It helps dry out the eggs so they can’t hatch
Don’t forget your car! First time my little got lice, no one told me about doing our cars and car seats and she got it again. . Mix tea tree oil with a little water, put it in a spray bottle and spray her shoulders/shirt and back pack. Lice hate the smell and the smell dissipated before I would drop her off at school. Never got it again. Good luck. I know it’s frustrating. Keep in mind that lice like clean hair more than dirty.
Try vinegar don’t.get in eyes leave on for at least five minutes may work it good for a lot of things look on internet maybe you can find the best way
Tea tree oil and put it in your shampoo and you won’t get it any more
Did you try mayonnaise?
Use the Tea tree oil.shampo and conditioner.iwas buying some at hairsalone and she told it was good for lice.and someone also saidspritz hair with tea tree oil.there also spouse be lice shampoo you can use everyday.i don’t have this problem but heard people talking about it.
Try apple cider viniger
And you have to retreat. Eggs hatch after so many days. So treat and take out nits. Spray down mattress and anything non washable. Wash everything in hot water if possible. Retreat in 5-7 days.
I had the same problem a few years ago with my daughter, and the only thing that completely got rid of hers was I made coconut oil, tee tree oil, and added vinegar to that mix and put a Walmart bag on her head n she slept with it on most of the night LoL and we washed her hair that morning and I used the lice comb and she hasn’t had it since!!! It worked REALLY good but you will have to wash her hair twice atleast to get the oils ALLLLL the wayy out!!!
Listerine 30 mins an than Apple cider vinegar really works
Get the spray that kills lice for your mattress, couch, stuffed animals and bag your stuffed animals up in garbage bags for a couple of weeks. Vacuum anything you can. Spray the spray everywhere in closets under beds
Mayonnaise. Suffocates the lice. When done comb out the dead lice and nits and repeat every couple of days until gone
vinegar is the best it kill lice and nits leve it over night
Saturate her entire head in coconut oil put a bag or plastic shower cap on it snuggly leave it on for 24-hrs at least all the nit n lce will suffocate n die completely n u can combthru ir one more time with the nit comb to make sure u got all of the dead nits off her hair … But she should b all set n it will make her hair nice n smooth n silky n healthy …
They have salons that will do it. I had to work my daughter cuz the first several attempts didn’t work. It was worth the money .in the end. And the process can be painful so ialso got to hold her and comfort her and bag everything air tight and leave it outside .in the sun for about 2-3 weeks because the eggs can still hatch but the sun and lack of air kills them. Then use extremely hot water to wash everything.
mayo lots of it and then wrap her head in plastic wrap it suffocates them. Put stuffed animals in black plastic bags for a few days and wash all bedding etc. spray carpets. Clean car seat etc. The mayo and plastic wrap kills. I did this for my daughter after using the over the counter crap. Afterwards use a coco nut shampoo and conditioner to discourage them or teatree oil they dislike both.
Keep using the shampoo daily until they are gone my beautician
Gave me something that looked and smelled like Selsum
Blue. We all had nits
They have a prescription that you can get from her dr. I can’t remember the name of it. Anyway…it kills everything!
There’s a spray called lice away. It’s made of a salt. I used it once and Never! Saw one again. My daughter had it in kindergarten her hair was to her waist. Just soak her hair in it. Let it dry. Comb them out. It’s great no pesticides
Pure finger the live when you oiur it on her head are going to itch her like crazy bit keep towel own her head. Or a hone box perm the bottle if ammonia will kill them it makes them itch but they will due
You need to use soap and shampoo take a shower every day water clean your kids every damn day that’s all it takes
You have to pick all the nits off of her hair if you leave one it will start again
Olive oil, worked on my daughter and grandson when he got it at daycare.
There is a beauty shop down at myrtle beach sc that does the treatment . Have you try putting mayo with a plastic bag over the hair and leave it on for a while. you still will need to pull the lice off. You need to vaccuum the bed matress, carpet, and wash the bed clothing.
I have dealt with lice before. Did you spray the bed mattress with lice spray?
We saturated hair in mayonnaise , and just left it on for 6 hours in a shower cap.
Get medicated shampoo from tour doctor. You do not have to comb out the nits. It kills everything. Make sure you tell the dr. How thick her hair is. Get enough to do everyone in the family.
My mom put kerosene in my hair as a child… let it sit for 3 minutes and wash with dawn… they literally fall out no combing necessary… and hair will be super soft
All that really works is to just keep combing combing combing amd comb again its a mess it sucks
I had the same issue with the kids. When they were Little … And we’d get rid of them and then here another kid would start it all over again… and here they would come with another note home.… sad to say it was one little girl … Her mama was NOT handling the issue and someone had to intervene but … for almost a whole semester we were plagued.
I put alcohol on their heads straight, wrapped in a wal Mart bag for an hour- smothered the live ones … then treated them with warm olive oil -again sealed it on the head with a wal- mart bag an hour ( comb out nits, any bugs left and conditions hair) … And and that every 4 days for two weeks and did the clean up every time… which totaled 4 times really bc I did It one final time each time. It worked too.
And then of all things they got in my hair after we had a little visitor over that wore my hoodie to an evening ballgame cause she was chilly …
And again… same treatment. It worked.
I have a head full of thick curly hair and so do my daughter’s.
This was years ago… But as nieces and nephews and friends babies came along we passed it on to them and every mama has thanked me. I wish you luck.
If permethrin perlice cream is available in your country pls give it a try. It was my life saver when I had butt long hair in school days
Brown listerine. Douse her hair, let dry on own, comb out small sections at a time. Or coconut oil leave in conditioner in jar. Liberally apply and comb.
Go to a lice clinic you’ll spend more$$ on over the counter and they 100% get rid of them I had the same problem with my daughter finally took her to a clinic problem solved I of course did a deep clean on EVERYTHING vacume and clean all floors ect… Good luck #momlife
Straighten her hair every day for a week it will get rid of them all!!
When my teenagers were 5 or 6ish and got lice, the treatment killed the lice but not the eggs. Their hair was so fine that the comb wasnt getting anything. I had to saturate their hair with an oil then pick the eggs out. We sprayed beds and furniture with spray and things like stuffed animals went in the dryer (I want to say at least 30 min). After we got rid of the bugs we put tee tree oil in shampoo and we never had anymore issues.
Never had them and my daughter has not either. Been lucky
