Wtf kinda question is that? Yes they due blood work alot and if your caught having drugs in your system while pregnant than they can take your baby away at birth . Your pregnant dont due drugs of any kind and put your baby at risk.

Most States do if they catch you with anything they continue to monitor you up until 3 months of delivery if you fail any of the tests before 3 months of delivery they will definitely take your kid this counts for marijuana to for those of you thinking because itās legal in your state itās fine itās not!
Also for the use of you asking now the house one could ask this question is a second wrong some of yāall havenāt dealt with addiction that much is clear. Iām not advocating for somebody who has an addiction Iām a firm believer that if you get pregnant you have addiction you should definitely quit.
However I had a friend in this situation if she quit she would have died. She was leveling off of the stuff and unfortunately lost the baby. So Maybe donāt be so judge so hardā¦ Itās not your story! And you have no idea how hard it is for someone else!

There needs to be a bit more concern for baby. What ever you are doing that has you worried about a drug test, will cross placental barrier and can cause harm to baby. It can cause deformities, retarded growth and development. If you want this pregnancy stop doing what ever it is you are doing before YOU cause permanent damage

Yes they do. But if you just found out your pregnant and this is a first appointment you will be ok. Now if you continue to test positive especially leading up to giving birth they can and will take the baby.

When I found out in 2012 that I was pregnant I was so scared because it was unexpected and I had some things in my system that shouldnāt have been. They didnāt test me but I did make them well aware. My husbands baby mom recently had a baby and they both failed a drug test after he came out. Cps did get involved but did not take the baby. The case is closed now.
They test the baby at birth. They test the first stool and blood in MD. If the baby tests positive, you lose custody of the baby and you get charged by the state.

They took my urine & checked it at every single one of my appointments all the way up until birth. It was their procedure for everyoneā¦ After birth, they tested the baby also. I think it depends on the doctors office because my friend was pregnant at the same time & used a different clinic & never got tested nor did they test baby & she smoked a ton of weed all the way through her pregnancy.

In NY they drug test . A friend of mine smoked her entire pregnancy and she still has her child. cps only showed up in the hospital room only baby is 1 1/2 months now

Thatās so pathetic. If youāre worried ab them testing even for weed , then you clearly know youāre doing something wrong. Otherwise you wouldnāt be asking ab it. Just cause thereās no studies on something doesnāt mean itās safe. Thatās like saying āI smoked cigarettes and my baby was fineā āI only smoked enough weed to just feel mellowā you do realize the baby feels it 10x worse than you do. Use your brains and apply that same concept to weed.

You have 9 months to quit whatever it is your doing and if you donāt then what alot of people said will indeed happenā¦ They ask you at first appointment if you take drugs or drink and if you say yes they will indeed test you at every single visit and if you keep showing up positive then you can kiss your baby goodbye after delivery !!!
Itās automatic these days to drug test. I had 6 babies and they drug tested on all of them. If you both test positive for any drugs at birth cps will take the baby away.

My assumption is your asking because of weed. WHICH BY THE WAY DOES NOT PASS THROUGH THE PLACENTA at all during pregnancy. In fact, the only way it would reach the baby is through breast feeding and its 0.8 %. Marijuana is safer than the anti-medic (nausea meds) they prescribe but all yāall go off.
I do believe they test the first appointment and if your positive they test every appointment after that. Yes even in fully legal states. hope Iāve helped.

It depends on the state. I live in Wisconsin and I know plenty of mommaās who definitely shouldnāt have their children, but no tests were given. But one state over they test at birth and will call cos if you have anything in your system. It varies. Best bet is to quit, obviously.
They did me. When the results showed on my MyChart, even though I was negative, I went off on them. My insurance company had me speaking to a nurse once a month and explaining everything that they were going to do to them. They didnāt tell me a head of time so my insurance company was trying to give me problems about whether they were going to pay their part or not. They do take the babies first poop diaper when the baby is born and test the baby that way to make sure that you didnāt use throughout your entire pregnancy.

I know everytime I went they asked me to do a urine test it was the first thing when I walked in is what they made me do. And if you couldnt pee for them they make you stay till you do. They also check for other things like UTI bacteria so its not just that.

Depends. If on state insurance like medicaid they do in PA. Iāve had friends who have been so ill during pregnancy doctors recommend smoking so they can eat and keep food down.

Not here to judge; although Im hoping you are asking because youāre quitting drugs for the childās development & just need to get it out of your system. They do test. But this country doesnāt care about the unborn, so as long as youāre clean at birth & the baby is not born with drugs in his/her system, CPS wonāt be coming for you.

Yes my sister in law was told if she tests positive for thc one more time they have to call cps sheās doesnāt even smoke anymore but did at first. We moved from Colorado to Arizona so maybe thatās why
I know in Michigan they do for more serious drugs. Not so much for pot, my dr said and a cps worker said that there is no know damage that pot does to a growing baby. And also once your baby is born they check the placenta and even if you stop smoking pot in the beginning it can still show up.in the placenta just like any other drug

Yes they do. I would do what you can to get clean for your baby but you are better off going to the doctor and getting the care you and your baby need. You will be provided resources to help you get clean.
Yes they do went through that with my grandbabyās mother as everyone probably knows and I had to be in place to bring him home when he was born or go to foster care because she wouldnāt quit drugs and then when the baby was born they tested the cord it was positive so they have to watch for symptoms but they didnāt keep him just for a couple days longer

Iām 36 weeks pregnant in Washington state. Itās legal here and Iāve been honest with my OB. They did the initial drug test but because I was only positive for pot they havenāt ever done another one. My doctor told me she canāt condone it but that there is insufficient evidence to discuss positives and negatives of using it during pregnancy. And my son is less than 2 and I had no issues with it then either. I personally like the pens to help me eat and comfortably sleep. I had hyperemesis and literally could not eat without it. Zofran didnāt help anything.
Yes and if your doing drugs you donāt deserve that baby and if anyone says anything different there is something wrong with you

The number of people calling weed a drug she needs to quit as if itās meth or alcohol is ridiculous! Itās a natural supplement that helps with a wide variety of side effects that most pregnant women have. Why is it ok to take the dozen different medications prescribed by a doctor but not one natural option? There is literally not enough information or research on it to make the kinds of judgements you are all making.

It depends on your state and ob. My ob had a random test policy that they informed me about at my first prenatal appointment for my first pregnancy and the reason they informed me/asked was because if I tested positive they would have to report it. I wasnāt smoking at that point because I stopped as soon as i found out i was pregnant but also knew it would be in my system still and they understood that and said they would wait until my next appointment.
Iām not sure if they changed their policy the second time around or just assumed I didnāt smoke anymore but they never asked with my second and if they tested for it they never brought it up.
The point of my comment is if OP is concerned she might test positive at her first appointment because sheās a chronic smoker that as long as sheās honest with her doctor and stops smoking if she lives in a state where it would bring her trouble she should be okay.

All these people talking shit my GOD, grow up and actually look up the benefits of smoking pot. You donāt know her, what if itās the only thing that helps her eat? Or helps her with throwing up, or mood swings, cramps? Gtfo with youāre judge mental asses. Its 2021, you would think people would do research on said ādrugā even tho it is not a ādrugā¦ it would be different if she was doing meth, heroin, molly, etc. so when I first found out I was pregnant with one of my kids I was a heavy smoker, one they will only test you if they have concerns, just because youāre getting your blood drawn does not mean they are testing you for drugs, they LEGALLY have to tell you if they are testing you for these things. I never had anything come up in blood test from pot when I first found out, because they werenāt testing for that.

Absolutely. So be honest with your doctor about what you have had in recent times. They need to know as it may affect the growing baby. But when I was a teenager and found myself pregnant and asking the same question I was honest with my doctor about it. Once I realized that I was pregnant as when I put a stop to everything, and everything worked out perfectly. There is no need to lie to your doctor about what you did before you knew you were pregnant.

Iām in Alabama they did a pregnancy test with me at a local health department in cullman, idk if they drug tested or not but I know I had THC in my system but they didnāt say anything to me.
Not usually unless you give the doctor reason to believe you ate on drugs.

I mean they test at every appointment here. It wont be a big deal at your first appointment because you didnāt know. Some talk to you about it. In MS if you test positive for anything towards the end of your pregnancy, DHS shows up at the birth and if its just weed, they do a house visit after the baby is born

Cape Cod healthcare when they do the prenatal blood work does do a drug test just stay positive and do the best you can do think of the baby stop doing whatever it is you may or may not be doing

I am confusedā¦because I work with Nurses. The pee they take is a simple Glucose (sugar) and renal test last I knew. But, once Pregoā¦ I wasnāt doing anything other than caffeine . So what do I know. Its a check up, not a check in with your parole officer.

Donāt go to the doctor and buy a pregnancy test. If it is positive then go to the doctor in a week or so.
