If you admit to it they will drug test you. But, in Michigan anyway they canât test without telling you. Also in Michigan since itâs no longer illegal CPS will show up bc itâs still protocol but theyâre going to see that youâre a good mom and leave you alone.
But if you pregnant and doing any drug other then weed itâs in your best interest to stop now so u donât hurt your child

It depends on the state⌠most do not drug test unless there is a suspected drug use ⌠however when baby is born there are complete blood work up and of there are any in the system.of the baby or the cord then CPS is called

Iâm in VA.When I was pregnant with my last two kids(2018&2020)
they did absolutely NO urine testing.I did however have blood tests but only for a few. My first visit to see how far along I was,for genetic testing,and for blood sugar.You should be honest with your DR.
Might wanna stop all drugs unless thereâs a legit prescription.

Hi! 29 weeks here and I can say from both of my pregnancies they ask about drug use and do test. If you are talking about cannabis, they normally overlook it because some people smoke due to hyperemesis gravidarum aka severe morning sickness that causes you to loose weight and not be able to eat at all⌠My dr said she âcanât recommend cannabisâ but in my state, as long as there are no other drugs in your system and your honest with your dr, they may do a wellness check and make sure you have basic needs met, water, electric you know⌠But every state is different. Most important thing is, no two pregnancies are the same and what works for some may not for others. Sorry for all the judgement your getting.

Yes they do some states r not really concerned about weed but it is a test the do either in our pee or blood an if pregnant after ten weeks the cord is sharing blood flow from u to baby .

I had to do a urine sample every appt. I used Marijuana and my dr knew about it. ( better that than harmful pharmaceuticals) and I never had any issues.

In Alabama, they test but wonât say anything unless you test positive after month five or six. If you quit before month five the baby wonât show positive at birth, however if the baby shows positive at the hospital, cps will get involved!!
Some states test you and some dont BUT your child will be tested at Birth for everything and if a positive test comes out a social worker will come see you while your still in the hospital and possibly take your child away.
If youre thinking of keeping it please get help to quit.

In TN they do one at every appointment. Marijuana isnât ever a big deal here, As long as there isnât any complication like the baby having withdraw symptoms. I know for a fact I tested pos on probably every test I had for Marijuana bc itâs the only thing that help me keep food down and I wasnât gaining weight so my Dr didnât care I smoked to help settle my stomach. My best friend on the other hand, she was given alot of pain meds while pregnant bc she was so sick and in pain from her body trying to reject the fetus. I mean the hospital gave her pain meds and fluid every 2 weeks the entire pregnancy and even sent her home with pain meds a few times. Her son ended up being born with withdraw symptoms. He tested clean for everything except Marijuana and they called dcs bc he had Marijuana in his system. I defiantly think it was the pain meds she was given evry couple of weeks that caused the withdraws but they still called dcs bc of the Marijuana. So defiantly depends on the state, what kind of drugs and the Dr/hospital if anything comes if it.
Here in Texas yes they do. First visits they usually inform you what came back positive and help you to get clean but if you continue to test positive they are obligated to inform CPS and baby will be tested when born.
Yes! And if your not clean by the time your 6 months pregnant they will get cps involved and will take your baby from you as soon as its bornâŚ

Know someone who was drinking and smoking weed during pregnancy and blood work was done on the baby⌠she almost had her kid taken from her because there was traces of Marijuana in the babyâs system⌠that was in FL. Dcf was involved for about 6 months after the baby was born and since the mom remained clean that time Dcf closed the case eventually but she had to go through hell just to make sure her kid wasnât taken from her. Best bet, donât do illegal drugs while pregnant because it does cause birth defects. As soon as you find out your pregnant and you decide to keep your child, also do whatâs best for the child and stop your addictions so your child doesnât have to suffer through health issues because of your poor choices.

Yes sometimes I dont advise any one Pregnate to do any flower while Pregnate they can drug test u whenever and u never know and when u give birth it can cause them to call cps etc I wouldnt test it
If you did something not knowing you are pregnant itâs different⌠but if you continue doing it after you and they know⌠itâs irresponsible, selfish and damaging for the child and can get into serious problemsâŚ

Why yes, yes they do⌠especially when they do blood work and urine⌠they will also test you baby at birth once they find youâve used⌠since your post does not clarify what drug(s) youâve used/using of if youâre an addict or recreational user⌠I suggest doing what you gotta do 100% to get clean and put that baby first! The docs will be able to see your levels decline and run out of your system.

I smoked weed daily when I was pregnant and found it hard to quit so I asked for random drug testing. This helped me quit. However, if you keep testing dirty you will get your child taken. Motivation I apparently needed though.

Where Iâm from they take blood and urine your first appointment. If they see drugs in your system they will continue to test you and will be able to see if levels are going up or down. If drugs are in your system at birth they take the baby.

Yes they will at your apts. If iys in your system when you first go in (first apt) its okay. You JUST found out. Theyll tell you to quit and such. But you will be okay rn. Just donât continue it.
Just be honest with your doctor. And as long as you stop the drugs since you found out your pregnant you and your baby will be ok. I was partying and ended up getting pregnant and stopped when i found out and she turned out fine.

Lol they never tested me with either of my kids, my blood and urine were for other tests. If the suspect they will. But my doc was cool as hell and supported legalizing in WA before it was legal

It depends on your state and ob. My ob didnât do urine tests except once. I was cleared by him to smoke until 32 weeks for HG.
Yes they do they do they make you pee in a cup every time you go to a baby dr appointment and when they take your blood they check for everything so you might want to think about getting clean an staying clean for your baby and also if they have suspicion of drug use then when the baby is born they will check the cord blood and that will tell them if you use and how many times you used during your pregnancy
In Maryland at every appointment they do a urine test. At birth they do a urine test and take a piece of umbilical cord for testing.
First time yes if it shows up they will again if its cannabis be open with ur dr about it either way I would be open about it

In N.C. and I had no issues. The only difference it made was when I had my daughter they ran an extra test to check something with her lungs. I was honest about it when I was admitted for my induction.
Usually they do not drug test at your prenatal appointments sometimes at the very first one they will but I do know that they do test when you go into labor but your best bet is to be honest with your practitioner so that you can have the best chance at a healthy baby and a healthy pregnancy

Yea but If youâre new pregnant they wonât care ⌠but if they you keep using whatever u use ⌠like throughout youâre pregnancy ⌠they will definitely have CPS or DHS there the day you deliver Your baby⌠and they will take it and proof as to why they needed to take your child

They do, at least at the first appointment. On a side note, could be that she was doing drugs before finding out she was pregnant and is worried on that. If thatâs the case just be honest and open.

They do at your first prenatal appointment. If anything shows up, there could be random tests during the pregnancy and once they start showing negative they wont test anymore. At least thats how the obgyn I worked for handled it

They will but just be honest up front so the doctor can keep an eye on everything. You would be surprised at the amount of people who use before finding out they are pregnant and have to have that talk with the doctor. Ignore the negative comments. They wont do anything but stress you out over something you most likely didnt even intentionally do.

They do. Most OBâs will tell you to wean yourself off no later than 6 months. Some are more stringent. Mine told me to switch over to CBD bud. I absolutely hated it and ended back up on nausea medicine so I could eat.

Most Ob/Gyn office/clinic make you pee in a cup at every appointment, and drug test that every time. Most dr donât tell you that

Iâm pregnant and have never had a drug test? But I am in Australia so maybe different for each country.
What drugs are you doing? Have you looked up the effects it has on babies ?
My recommendation is to seek help as a baby addicted to drugs is extremely heartbreaking to watch.

I believe they test if they feel it necessary at the birthâŚI donât believe I was ever tested. I was asked by my Dr but thatâs all. I do know some who were tested. I really donât know how it works but I would think testing every woman who has a baby just because is over stepping some boundaries.
They usually do on the first test if itâs just weed they wonât tell cps or state, donât stress these people saying meth and coming at youâre throat. Ok plenty of people who smoke weed until they was up to 26 weeks to help them eat and the doctor told them it was fine.
