Take out a tampon, pee, insert a new tampon.
I do NOT pee with a tampon in. You’re already at risk for bacteria just because of the tampon, I definitely aint about to risk it further.
Sounds ewww. Who does this
Take it out before you pee and put a new one in when youre done
Panty liner or i usually just push the string to the side when I pee
Either change it every time or hold the string from behind while you pee. It’s awkward, but when tampons are scarce you do what you have to!
What the actual f**k why is this even a question? Change your damn tampon every time you pee!! That’s just nasty
Knix underwear is the best!
Change it every time… If cost is an issue go with the diva cup or pads it just that simple… It’s really unsanitary and unsafe to leave it after you peed all over it…I’m not trying to sound mean or rude so please don’t take it that way.
Never realized people actually do that. I change mine everytime i go to the bathroom…
Women don’t pee out of the same place the blood comes from, so therefore, the tampon doesn’t get soaked with pee. I don’t use tampons, but I would say use the tissue to squeeze strings and use a panty liner.
I’m not sure what everyone thinks their anatomy looks like but a tampon is pushed alot higher then your urethra so it doe not soak up pee. It would be best practice for it to be changed everytime you go to the toilet but if someone has urinary urgency and pees more regularly it may not be practical for them to do that and I don’t think it’s right for you to be judging someone for that.
If you just move the string there’s absolutely no reason to remove it every time you urinate 🤷
I don’t use tampons anymore (team menstrual cup here - honestly it’s a game changer) but when I did, I would always remove the tampon when I had a wee.
Try a reusable alternative. Like the kickers?
Am I the only one who washes hands, tucks in the string, pees, wipes, checks string (yup good) washes hands again and done✅
Never had an issues with pee string and had no idea this was even a thing
I pee a lot, as I drink a lot of water throughout the day so it’s never really occurred to me to change it every.single.time.
Just hold the string up out of pee stream
Just get a Diva Cup…so much easier and no worries.
Change it EVERY SINGLE TIME. You are putting yourself at risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), yeast infections, UTIS, and thrush.
Change the tampoon…mine seems to not wanna stay in after I pee
What’s with all the nasty comments! Poor girl asked a question! If u have no advice and/or anything nice to say, scroll the fuck on!!!
Um…hold it out of the way
Anytime I pee I change my tampon
I change mine everytime. Kinda gross leaving it in and asking for an infection
I just change my tampon every time I use the bathroom
Idk I dont wear tampons. I always had a peoblem with them leaking no matter whst size I used.
I’m just going to leave this here.
I change it every time i pee, it moves down for the pressure and isnt comfy anymore so out every time xxx
Switch to a cup- it’s a game changer
Wait what!!! No lie…I never pee with my tampon in… that doesn’t seem that sanitary (during an already messy time)… change it every time
Stuff the string up there too i guess. Or change it everytime you pee
The amount of people that think tampons soak up pee is scary lol. Yall realize we have two different holes right ? if you’re peeing on your tampon your doing it wrong
I switched completely to the flex disc. Haven’t looked back
Push the string in too. I pee a lot, so changing it every time would be wasteful, and cost a shit ton. So, tuck the string in. I hate how it catches throughout the day if I dont.
**Edit to say they also sell stringless tampons! But I dont like the idea of the possible mess. Lol
I hold the string backward and lean forward to pee
I literally just change the whole tampon if pee gets on the string.
Wear a panty liner and change it when you pee?
You can try tucking the string when you pee or using toilet paper to dry it if you can’t afford to change it every time
This question made me unfollow this page. Lol!! I was like what the what?
I believe instructions in box says you don’t have to remove it. If you start having such a big issue with soaked panties, change the tampon every time based on your ability and circumstances. Play it by ear
Change it every time you pee. It stinks when it gets wet.
I tuck the string. It keeps it out of the way. I wear liners too just for good measure
Y’all keep a tampon in while peeing and then after peeing?? Like what? Kinda nasty. I change the tampon every time
Your suppose to change it tf
Yeah but I change mine every time I pee
Use a diva cup. You can avoid the whole string situation.
Pull up the string so it’s out of the way, viola, not soaked!
You’re not fixing it properly
Lean forward when pissing.
Hold the string from the back and lean forward slightly when peeing.
Tuck the string inside a tiny bit.
Best tip ever get a mensural cup its a game changer.
Oh my God, what a major problem… Get grip gal…move it out of the way or dry with TP… if you don’t want to change … problem solved…
Wait y’all don’t change your tampons every time? Ok
You’re not supposed to change it every time you pee or it will hurt!
I am one of those ones that changes it each time I go pee.
Change the tampon. It’s unsanitary to leave it in for too long anyways. And having a wet string with pee on it between your legs afterwards is gross. Hold the string with toilet paper while you pee and it won’t get wet bc urine comes out a completely different hole than blood does.
I put the string back in my crack. it works.
There are some women out there who don’t know. What lf this is a teenage girl legitimately asking for advice on how to be functional during a period… jeeze.
I pull the string to the side, or change it. I mean if I’ve just recently put it in I’m not gonna waste it. Diva cups are also an option. I could never get comfortable using one myself, I was always worried it would leak.
Hold the string away from your coochie
I change mine everytime I pee. Its nasty to keep it in after peeing.
I change it every time
What??? This whole time(40yrs) i thought everyone change it every time they pee!!! I guess it’s just me
Whats with you ladies being nasty?!
What do you gain by commenting something negative.
I change mine each time I use the loo.
Although the manufacturers say you can use one tampon for up to 6 hours… I would leak and always need to change every hour or so! So its easier to change it and prevent a wet string!
I always change mine after I pee. So, I never had to worry about that.
Lets keep in mind that there could be many different reasons she has this question. For example, if she had a parent who was very over bearing and controlling or perhaps made this type of topics off-limits, then she would be learning everything basically on her own because maybe she also did not have a good support system of friends that she felt comfortable asking. I had a friend who didn’t know you didn’t insert the applicator and just leave it inside of her. She only mentioned that tampons were quite painful and the conversation opened from there, probably because I didn’t shame her. I mean, it really costs nothing to be kind people. It was a simple question.
Pull string to side n sit on it while you pee
I’ve tried moving it, its hopeless! Just change it everytime. It can be a waste but on the plus side… you’ll never forget one in there!
Have you shopped around for panty liners? there are different kinds (some shaped for thongs, different materials, organic cotton etc.) might be a different style that’s more comfortable for you
I push the string all the way up when I put the tampon in. No pee in it and change it every 4 to 6 hours like your supposed to.
Just cut the string but leave enough to be able to pull it out
Uh take tampon out every time you pee and put a fresh one in?
Move the string to the side it’s what I do when I have to pee. I recently started using a disc and I don’t need to worry about that no more. The disc is a healthier option as well no risk of toxic shock. I’ve hear a diva cup is good I just prefer not to use them on myself. There’s thin panty liners called dailies that you can’t feel while wearing them also.
Push the string “in” or pull it to the back because your “pee hole” is more towards the front
Tuck it between your butt cheeks
Why does the tone always sound so condescending when someone just wants to use this forum for learning? Jeez.
I am unsure of how so many women wear tampons and or pads and do not know their anatomy? Your tampon does NOT soak up urine. You urinate out of the urethral opening which is right above the vaginal opening and right below the clitoris if you insert the tampon correctly it should be deep enough at a 45 degree angle that when you urinate it does not touch the tampon. Your tampon does not need to be changed every time you use the restroom only every 4-6 hours but NO LONGER than 8. Cut your tampon string just enough that you can still pull it out but short enough that you do not get it wet. It’s not disgusting to leave a tampon in after you use the restroom. I am also not judging those who do remove and replace after every restroom but tampons were made and are safe enough to leave in between restroom use. They are too expensive to be as wasteful as every use. Whatever makes you comfortable but please be more informed than to go as far as calling it “disgusting” and to literally think they “soak up pee”.
I move the string. I can’t pee on it…I’d feel like pee was soaking up into the tampon…
I use a diva cup. Cups are safer, more sanitary and unless you lose it, only have to replace once every 5 years or so.
…thicker pads never once crossed your mind?
Wear period undies.
I thought they were the grossest things in the world until I tried them about 4 months ago and they are a life changer!!!
This is where I got mine from.
A man has to be asking this question
If your string is getting soaked with urine then the tampon is soaking urine up into your vagina. I pull the string back and hold between my butt cheeks, pee, and pull the string back out from between my butt cheeks and if some how urine gets on the string I take the tampon out.
Change the tampon when you pee. Yes, you can use one for up to 6 hours. But, it is dangerous to do so. You can die or be hospitalized for it. I can’t remember the exact name it’s called. But you can probably look it up on Google. It can be pretty serious.
I used pantyliners to help with that when I used tampons ,but now I use a menstrual cup and dont have to worry about it
Ew,no…change that tampon every time you have to pee
I just change my tampon every time I pee but I’m a heavy bleeder
This is a mom group. Moms asking other moms questions, supporting other moms. And all I typically see is moms bashing/ judging other moms.
And another reason I use a menstrual cup!
you’re supposed to change it every time you use the bathroom. Knocks down the Toxic shock syndrome chances
This is why we need health/sex ed classes
Wtf? People pee with a tampon in and leave it in? That sounds very uncomfortable especially leaving a wet string it. Usually when you use a tampon you’re supposed to switch them out every time you use the restroom. If you don’t feel like switching it out maybe stick with pads but even then you should switch those out too.
Look at all these perfect woman that no exactly what they are doing and seem to think they are better than this lady who is asking a question shame on use all #bekindalways
i change mine every bathroom break
Some Brands dont have strings, I’d look there. My period is unpredictable. I could be bleeding heavily and put in a regular tampon, only to have it dry and painful to remove when I use the restroom. Other times I have to use the restroom excessively and it’s not enough time to fill a tampon. I had to leave tampons behind and use a diva cup. Hope you find a solution!
I change everytime i use the bathroom…
I like how when it’s pregnancy or after birth related there’s always a hop in my inbox comment or a whole load of support but when it’s embarrassing women problems then there’s not a lot of support, a lot of women arnt actually taught how to use tampons or even much about their body’s so it’s a bit unfair people practically laughing I can’t use tampons so I can’t offer advice but some people are so judgey it’s awful
Highly recommend a cup!
Typically if I don’t have to change, I will wipe, then I use some TP to dry the string, then wipe again to tuck it away
I hold the string or make sure to place the string away from my vagina when pulling panties high . I struggled with pee incontinence after my first daughter . And my periods were always medium flow and never heavy enough to fill the tampons quickly . And taking the tampons out every time caused me pain because they’d be dry and rub me wrong .
Use a flex cup or diva cup! Life changing
When I used to wear tampons I’d have to change it every time I went pee. Cause I couldn’t stand the wet feeling.
