I'm living a lice nightmare, help!

Vamousse Experience expensive but works amazingly!

Look up their are called God mother’s get rid of lice

Mayonnaise and a plastic bag.

I had to shave my head

Wait live angel look it up. It’s a business just for head lice

Cut her hair shorter and use nyda from the pharmacy. Works well.

Straighten her hair !!

Honestly, the shampoo and stuff is great for living lice. But do nothing that you can’t do by hand. Use an oil to loosen the nits (makes them easier to comb out). Lice can only live for so long off a body. Spray and treat anything she comes into contact with and repeat consistently. Gel and braid hair (since she has long hair) after each time (makes it harder to catch). These Combs work great for nits. Divide each section into a small amount and comb 4 ways each time. Repeat until it’s nit free.

I went through this hellish nightmare too when my daughter was younger, so I tooooootally feel your pain. Over the counter remedies were awful and cause chemical burns and everything else I tried. Just before I was about to find a lice remover facility in my area (there are some “salons” that ONLY specialize in lice removal…you’d just need to research) I was told to try 1 final “at home” remedy and I SWEAR on EVERYTHING it actually WORKED!!

What you do it buy Cetaphil BODY LOTION and you section by section lather/drench your kiddo’s hair in it. Once done, wrap your child’s head & hair in plastic wrap (ie: turby twist) and let it sit for 1-3 hours. Once done, then comb through each section with the lice comb. Repeat this 1x a week for 3 weeks and continue with washing bedding. All the while get Circle Of Friends lice defense hair products and put your kiddo’s hair in a tight bun until the lice are gone. I’m gonna attach a pic of 1 of the hair products for you to see. It can be purchased at ulta

Get this at the walmart garden center. Rub it all in her hair and let it sit then wash it out. Please becareful inhaling it. It’s all natural and it’s food grade if you have any pets put it on them also. Do a little research on it you will be amazed at all the benefits.

Get a Robicomb…this little gadget is well worth it. I literally went through a living nightmare of my own….I did all those things too. I bought this & switched to coconut scented shampoo/conditioner & finally the nasty critters met their match. I sectioned off hair & ran this comb through it daily zapping everything in its path. We even used it weekly as a precaution. Best of luck!!

First at all don’t cut her hair! that would be sad, as a Mexican mom I know this shit work I will attach a picture of the shampoo she used to use you can order it in Amazon, is what my grandma and mom use to used to kill that mfs, it’s really good but if you have other kiddos check on everyone just in case, and wash everything with super hot water!

Also you can use mayonnaise like a hair mask a lot of mayonnaise and wrap her hair in plastic.

Add tea tree oil to her shampoo and wash her hair and rinse it out with vinegar.

Good luck :four_leaf_clover:

This stuff is a miracle cure…I had exhausted all options available until someone told me about this. You can treat their heads every 3 days with it because it’s natural and you don’t wash it out. The hair will be sticky like it’s been in the beach water but it’s worth it and you don’t have to treat anything else in the house…lice can only live off a host 1 to 2 days without feeding

After having three girls I can tell u this is the only actual thing that works. It removes the eggs from the base of the hair follicle where it sticks after being laid. Their life cycle is 7 days, the white eggs are empty egg shells and they are glued to the hair. The dark eggs are the ones that have actual live lice in them. Use the comb daily, after 7 days you won’t see any lice. Tea tree only stops them going to hair, once they are in they are immune to the smell x this will hurt, it’s not like a normal head lice comb x

Try this is helped me. I had lice last year for the first time in my life… Used this for a month straight (supposed to only use it for about a week), but havemt had it again… It comes with a shampoo, conditioner and spray… Hope it ends soon for your daughter…

It’s hard at first but the heat from your hands and her head it melts, start brushing from back to front. Have her put her head on a table.

We went through 3 years of constant lice in our 3 girls. Ages ranging from 3-14 at the time. It was impossible to find whose school it was coming from so we were just trying and doing everything. Mayonnaise, NIX, homemade stuff, RX you name it. It cost a fortune in products, washing everything daily and time off work because they couldn’t go to school if there were any nits. The last round was such a horrible infestation my oldest asked me to shave her head. I took a picture of the last treatment we used and we have never had any lice since. Going on 3 years. Wishing you the best!!!

This was the only product that worked for us.

I lived that exact nightmare a couple of years ago when it was a problem at my kids’ school. This is the ONLY thing that worked, on both of my boys. You have to comb, comb, comb until you don’t get anything on the comb.

This is amazing. Cleared my daughter’s hair in one go but did the 2 treatments no need to comb through after but I did. It is greasy but amazing

This stuff worked for us! We kept using over the counter stuff and it wasn’t getting rid of all of them even combing it out. I’m not the one who bought it but I think it was expensive. But it worked after one treatment!

Olive oil and a comb through with the metal combs, Also target has a lice treatment that comes with a metal comb that one does work better than Olive Oil .

You may also want to undercut her hair. Go as high as you can in the back especially.
It’ll help a ton and she won’t feel like she lost her hair nor look like it.

This stuff and you can use it everyday cuz its natural. Spray it on,let it dry. You dont have to wash it out right away either. Doesn’t damage hair either.

My daughter has hair down to her butt and sooo thick. The only thing that worked for us was putting this stuff in it. Like the whole entire container. And leaving it on over night. The next morning I combed through very fine layers and then washed. It took a while to get the stuff out but it helped the lice not be able to hold on.

Best thing to use is this spray and comb

I use this stuff. It kills instantly.

Look up lice removal on fb. There’s people that can come to help that are not that pricey.

We had it a while back and we did everything out doc told us Cetaphil and it worked!!

Neem oil add to shampoo and conditioner!!!

This stuff is awesome!!

Do the Cetaphil treatment. Works great since life have become resistant to chemicals.

We had this happen to me when I was in 6th grade. My hair is thick and was down past my butt. I let this girl stay the night one time and she gave me lice so bad nothing worked. My mom finally cut my hair super short and out of desperation (and being broke) grabbed a bottle of flea shampoo for our dog.

LET ME TELL YOU THIS WILL WORK. It stinks like high hell and it sucks during the sit time for them to die but it for sure is the only thing that worked and killed eggs too. I now recommend this method to anyone who has had to deal with these evil little bastards.

Hope this helps.

Sorry but. Shave her head

Take her to a salon that removes head lice. They specialize in it.

This is what I used and it worked great. You may need to cut her hair. With it being that long and thick, I’m sure you’re not getting every nit out. You leave one behind, it re-infests again.

This stuff is the only thing that worked for my daughter and its natural

Cut it as short as she won’t be too upset with and have family and friends help you pick the nits. Til all the nits are gone it won’t ever get better. Some newer prescribed meds help with killing nits and they wash out better :person_shrugging: good luck cause I know it sucks :purple_heart:

Don’t be horrified. I had that issue as well. One missed nit is all it takes to start the cycle again. Try spraying her room, behind the bed ,under it, closet, baseboards and floor with flea spray. You have to bag all of her stuffed animals or put them through a few hot cycles in the drier. The lice may be living in her mattress. Spray all of that , including the frame.

You need to bag all the things in her room. Everything and leave it in the bag at least 30 days. Then take hot water for sheets. With her head pour apple cider vinegar in it. Let it sit for a good 5 minutes before rinse. Then buy peppermint oil massage into her scalp …it will tingle but ALL bugs die in peppermint oil. You let that sit 20 minutes. Then you csn wash it out. But the whole house has to be deep cleaned. Nothing including clothes can go unbagged.

I’ve had to deal with them with my granddaughter. Repeatedly bringing them home from the other grandmother’s house. Get a lice zapper. Best thing I ever bought. Kills lice and eggs. I bought a pair of lighted magnifying glasses too. And I cut a bunch of her hair off too. It’s still long, and it will grow back.

I used to shower her head with lice shampoo afterwards combing.
The hair was dry i sprayed it with lice spray.
I left it longer than it should.
Meanwhile when she was asleep i took the lices and eggs out until i havent seen them.
It took me less than a day for them to be killed.
But i had spray that also killed the eggs.
If the spray or shampoo is only for lice it wont help much as when the eggs break they will continue grow.
Nervewrecking

Sounds crazy but it works put Mayonnaise in her hair cover her hair with a shower cap or plastic wrap leave on for an hour then rinse . Then comb the dead bugs and eggs out of her hair.

After doing her hair in the mornings put gel, hairspray or some kind of product in it . Lice hate “dirty” hair… this will prevent her from getting them in the future

You have to pick Every nit egg from hair. You have to bag and seal all stuffed and toys. Every vacuum bag must be used 1x and discarded out of the home immediately. I used these methods the very 1st time and it was over. The nit poc is tedious and exhausting and well worth the effort. *she could be getting reinfection from an unresolved source situation too.

I used to do it for all my family and friends and foster kids I used lice shampoo with a half teaspoon of tea tree oil mixed in it. Once u do that u comb through it all as much as possible then pick ALL the nits out and it’ll take hours so be ready for it. I had done my sister’s hair before it took 2 days then once u get through it all recheck every 3 days and get anything out u missed. Wash all the bedding toys etc. Even add a few drops of tea tree oil to her shampoo or conditioner to prevent it. I have done this for several years. Yes sometimes a hair trim or cut helps make it easier to go through but not necessary

6 to 8 drops of tea tree oil mixed into any other oil and apply to the hair. We did this daily until the lice were gone. The smell is strong but it works if you combine it with my other 2 tips. After the lice nightmare is over use the equate brand tea tree and peppermint shampoo and conditioner to repel them. Amazon sells a spray for around 25 dollars for rugs, bedding, furniture, stuffed animals, etc. That spray was the game changer for us and worth the price.

Omg! You poor thing. Lice are horrible little things. Seems like am endless cycle because you gotta worry about.the eggs as well. U may kill all.lice and wait 2 days and have a ton more. U need to do you’re entire house not just bedding and mattress. I would rent a steamer cuz heat will kill them! Also, I contracted lice when I was pregnant, my best friend bless her heart, combed my hair for hours daily for days ÷/
Also, I kept vegetable oil in my hair overnight in-between
Hope u get em out soon!!!

I’m Puerto Rican and el Salvadoran so my hair is suuuper thick too. My mom used to mix rubbing alcohol listerine mouth wash together and let it sit on our heads for an hour. It was absolutely horrible but it always worked. She put the same mixture in spray bottles and we went over the whole house multiple times a day

Cut her hair shorter , it will grow back.

You have to wash the sheets, blankets comforter, and anything else her head could have touched in the lice solution to.

Shave it … my cousin had to her hair was thick and past her butt couldnt get rid of it had to shave it

First… Cut it. Then keep doing what you’re doing & make sure the water you’re washing all bedding & clothes in is HOT. Bag up any & all stuffed animals, etc. it’s a viscous cycle. Natural lighting (outside) is the best to see the eggs. My twins had it TERRIBLY when they were 4. I was pregnant with my youngest. It was an absolute nightmare that I’m STILL traumatized by. Seriously. 24 years later. Best of luck. You’ll get ahead of it & get rid of the eggs before they hatch again. Hang in there. You’ve got this!!

Hey mama! So you need to take all of the bedding and clothes (minus what she needs), and even toys that have fabric or hair on them and seal them in garbage bags. My mom always put them in the freezer for a few days or you can throw them outside or in a garage. This will suffocate them, unfortunately just washing won’t help

I would suggest cutting her hair to make it more manageable. I know that might not be doable right now. My children had long hair and lice many moons ago and the shorter their hair, the easier to manage. That being said, instead by the hair mayonnaise and/or the olive oil butter in the ethnic hair care section found at any store. We found it at Walmart easily. I’d slather it on THICK, put a shower cap on and leave it on over night. It took 3 or 4 washes to get the feeling out and then combs with a metal lice comb (do not use plastic ones, they’re worthless) and it got them every time. No issues whatsoever. I’d treat again within the week, and of course treat their bedding, stuffed animals, etc., and took out the risk of having the person that gave them the lice (obviously not always doable). I’ve even let the teachers know my child kept getting them and if they could watch children around them to hopefully nip the source (if indisnt know it was someone in our family or friends- we had a family member also get them often and never treat :disappointed_relieved:)

Lice like a clean slate to stick to, and their eggs, and a common misconception is they’re on dirty hair. They need something to stick to, so a clean shaft of hair is preferable.

Good luck!

I used dog flea shampoo on my daughter. I’ve also heard hair color works.

So live have evolved and the nix and crap doesn’t work.
All you need is a bottle or two of conditioner. The shittiest conditioner you can find.
Empty a whole bottle of conditioner on her head. Make sure every little spot is drenched. Tightly wrap it up with a plastic grocery bag and wait 1 hour. Have a towel around her shoulders cause it drips.
Shower after and watch all the dead ones fall off.
Lice comb and Then use a hair straightener.!
Works every time.

When you vacuum you need to spray is with vinegar to kill the live living in the vacuum. Any couches, carpet, blankets need to be washed with hot water and sprayed with vinegar , pillows thrown away.

You have to treat the entire house, stuffed animals must go in air tight bags for 15 days, furniture must be sprayed & vacuumed… otherwise, you will just keep reinvesting.

Sounds like you are doing everything. We had that same problem and then i realized it wasn’t me not doing treatment right it was the source wasn’t being treated. It was the girl who was sitting next to my daughter transferring it to her constantly. Got school nurse involved and my daughter moved in class and it stopped.

Salt water kills lice, so a trip to the beach! Or just make a spray bottle of salt water and soak the hair. Then use Tea tree oil mixed into conditioner. Let it sit for a few minutes and comb through to get the nits. Use the tea trea conditioner mixture weekly.

When I was 12 my guardians started streaking my hair
Something in the dye/bleach kills all the eggs and will keep lice away for a couple months.
They would also perm my hair once in a while and that helped.

I used to get lice ALL the time (I was bad for sharing brushes ect.) after they started treating my hair regularly I never had a problem with them again.
I know it sounds completely insane. It works though.

When I had head lice, the only thing that helped was shaving my head, bagging up everything, washing everything and then using tea tree oil every second day.

Coat her head with vegetable oil, I mean saturated all the way to the roots, then place a swim cap on her head, wait a couple days, pick all the nits and repeat.

You have to put all clothing and bedding into garbage bags, let them outside for atleast a day, comb through her hair, hand pick the eggs, dump a whole thing of rubbing alcohol on her head wrap it into a bag, let sit for 30 mins, go through her head again, wash out the rubbing alcohol then coat her hair with mayo and wrap it in a plastic bag, let it sit for an hour, then hand pick through it again, wash it out and put alot of oil or hair grease braid it up. Wash all your clothing, bedding, furniture.

You’re going to have to cut her hair, it’s hair, it will grow back. Wash everything at a laundromat, and dry there, hotter dryers. Bag all toys, stuff animals etc, and de-clutter home, wash curtains, everything washable. My mama always said “it’s not a sin to get lice, but it’s a sin to keep them”

Go on amazon and get lice ice that is the only thing that worked for us girls growing up

Pretty much anything that came into contact with her and her hair can be infested. Pillows, stuffed animals, furniture, seats of the car, clothes, coats, ect. Have to treat everything.

So I got lice prevention shampoo and conditioner, a spray, and nix (but make sure it kills eggs too) and just left it in her hair for a week instead of rinsing it out.

Don’t know if anyone has said this your treating her… But are you treating yourself an anyone else who lives in the house? Even if you think you haven’t got any

Dermatologist asap she probably has nix resistant lice. They can give you a script

Keep it greasy and wash everything that’s cloth in ur home, do they make lice bombs? When hair is dirty they won’t stick, who does she hang with could b getting from friends grease that hair and tie it up

Hair conditioner …leave it in her hair , and get her hair cut

You might have to cut her hair shorter.

Any cuddly toys in her room? Could be on those? Worth a wash to see if it helps

Use lice treatment, then wash it out. Use a few jars of mayo put shower cap on. Leave on about an hour wash and condition! Walmart sells lice shield shampoo get that and any brand coconut conditioner Use it every hair wash

We had it in our house and we tried everything. Even a $500 professional treatment and nothing. We bought something called lice freee spray and it worked wonders

I had this with both my children when we changed schools. IT DROVE ME MAD, THE ITHER MOTHERS ADMITTED THEY HAD STOPPED TREATING AND JUST LEFT THEIR KIDS NIT INFESTED I WAS SO STRESSED SO WERE MY CHILDREN.

I ended up doing my kids with
KP 24
Follow my regime it will be over in 7 days you will never catch them again OK :white_check_mark::+1:t3::v:t4:

USE KP 24 buy the METAL NIT COMB THAT KP 24 SELLS

DO THIS SUNDAY
AGAIN ON WEDNESDAY :upside_down_face:
AGAIN ON THE NEXT SUNDAY :slightly_smiling_face:

Put KP 24 ON THE HAIR DOUBLE THE TIME ON THE BOTTLE PUT A SHOWER CAP OVER HER HEAD THEN
leave it on for as long as YOU CAN OK making sure it doesn’t go in her eyes
Keep a nice wet folded hand towel so you can clean it up if it leaks out, she will want to itch because they will start dying and going crazy.

Get a bottle of conditioner and after you have washed out the KP24
LATHER HER IN CONDITIONER AND LEAVE IT ON FOR AN HOUR WITH A SHOWER CAP ON.

She can watch Tv chill out etc

after an hour section her hair into 6 sections doing one section at a time using the nit comb you get with the bottle of kp24 do each section over and over till you don’t get anymore nits or eggs, the KP 24 kills the nits and eggs and the conditioner suffocates them at the end so they are definitely dead, the conditioner helps get the eggs of the hair shaft easier.

MAKE UP IN A SPRAY BOTTLE
CONDITIONER, TEA TREE OIL PURE, WATER.

Do her hair everyday spraying the Mixture over her hair like a barrier do plaits then bun them up and pin them up every day .
Do the nit treatment AGAIN on the Wednesday again using the same method and formula.

THEN AGAIN ON THE FOLLOWING SUNDAY . Keep her hair plaited and pinned into a bun using the tea tree oil solution will repel the nits AND CONDITION HER HAIR.

I WOULD GET HER THINNED OUT AND TAKEN UP TO THE MIDDLE OF HER BACK, IT MAKES IT MUCH EASIER TO MANAGE.

IT WILL ONLY TAKE ONE WEEK TO KILL THEM ALL BY THE SECOND SUNDAY YOU WILL SEE THE DIFFERENCE .

MY NIT REPELLENT REALLY WORKS AND SHE WILL SMELL FRESH FROM THE TEA TREE .

GOD BLESS AND GOOD LUCK :pray:t4::pray:t4::pray:t4::peace_symbol::v:t4::butterfly:

Don’t forget to boil or clean all of the brushes/combs and hair ties, bows etc. check everyone in the family including yourself and treat.

You are either not using enough treatment or not combing and cleaning well enough. Sounds like its time for a hair cut.

Lather it up with cetaphil and wrap in plastic bag

Sounds weird but smother her head in mayo for hours. Then wash

Her pediatrician can prescribe something for it!

Take them to the doctor and get the medication kind

Check out Lice Angels , if you’re not local I believe you can buy their products as well

Lavender. They hate lavender oil. Make sure you get them out of the car, coats, and backpacks

Take her to a lice clinic

Go get her 3 bottles hair dye close to her color n put it in .guarantee be dne for good

My cousin had her head shaved, that solved the issue

Have you tried asking the dr to prescribe “Sklice”, it’s amazing :raised_hands:t3:.

Mayo leave overnight wear showercap

Coconut shampoo I used the suave. While hair is wet load it full of coconut oil then a layer on the coconut conditioner. Cover hair in a good fitting shower cap leave on over night. Rinse the next day. Most of the bugs and eggs will come out during the rinse. You can use one of the long metal lice combs half through the rinse to get more out. Rinse the hair good use no conditioner after. Bag all stuffed animals and toys with fabric or hair. Toss bedding in the dryer for 30 minutes. The oil smothers living bugs and makes the eggs bloat so they’re much easier to get out. This is the oil I always got.

Use every 10 days til it’s gone. Don’t wash it out until it’s fully dry

You keep combing everyday. If you’re still getting nits and bus then she isn’t done having her hair combed through.
Lice is so easy to get but hard af to get rid of.
Keep combing through the hair. The comb you use matters too. The plastic ones are crap and don’t actually get anything. You need a good stainless steel one.

My daughter had it 14 times in her 3 years in Middle School. This was our life saver. Her plus 3 more of us with long hair. It was a nightmare before this. Washed bedding and bought lice spray for the bed, pillows and furniture. Her principal said something to me about her missing school. I said next time she gets it I’ll send the bill to the school for all 4 of us to have it professionally done considering one of her teachers had told me a girl that sat next to her is always scratching her head.

I’m not sure about having the lice BUT we use this daily spray and so far my kids haven’t had lice. Even when it’s going around the classrooms.

Nothing in the stores works. Prescriptions don’t work. Long ago, at my wits end, I hired a lice professional. $200. You know what they used? Olive oil and this comb. I’m serious. And it worked. Blew my mind.
