I'm living a lice nightmare, help!

We used kerosene growing up. It worked. I am sure everyone will jump me for saying it but I am still here.

Get some bleach powder and some low volume developer and go lighter.
Itll be a fun change for your daughter.
And nothing survives that bleach cream.

And let her wear it overnight. Then wash in the a.m.

Ziggity snippits at charlestown do lice treatments and removal…

Haircut time, I had to with my daughter a few years back cause her hair was just to thick

Hair cut would in store if all else fails but use lots of vinegar!!!

They make a comb that gets the lice and zaps them dead. Use the comb continuously. The comb is at Walmart for about $30.

Chop chop hair. That is what I had to do years ago. Hair grows back

I had to shave mine as a kid bc of lice

Mayo in hair over night rinse out in the morning with Coke cola. Use tee tree oil anytime you wash hair.

There are salons that specialize in removal. They are expensive but worth it from what I have heard.

Also younblow dryer on high heat they hate heat

Put some lard on her scalp and work it down leave in for about 30 minutes. The lice will suffocate. Then wash with dawn

Hire a lice service. It’s expensive, but it works.

Have all carpet and upholstery professionally steam cleaned

You could always take her to a specialist?

Try mayonnaise and wrap it with. Plastic wrap

Mineral oil and vinegar 1 to 1 then let it sit for 20 then wash hair

Cut that shit off. Hair grows back.

Are you treating the whole house??

Tea tree oil is amazing.

Lice Center of America, it’s like $150 and worth every penny!

Prell shampoo, lice do not like this shampoo

Rosemary keeps them away

I had the same problem with my girls when they were little. Long thick hair passed their butts. Nothing kept it away! I know it sounds harsh but I had them hold a towel over their face, had them bend over the tub n poured straight alcohol in their hair til it was saturated then wrapped it in a bun, put a shower cap n tied a plastic bag over it n let them sit n watch a movie before washing it out. Killed anything moving n i just made sure to look out for any nits left behind on the follicles.

Gotta cut that hair mama

Also when you do a treatment. Using just the comb doesn’t work. I’ve had to deal with this for my stepsons. As soon as they came over, I had to do a treatment and go inch by inch through their hair picking out eggs. It sucks but thank God my daughter never got it, as her hair is past her butt and she’s only 8. Such a horrible thing to have to have kids go through. As well us us. Best of luck. Headlice fricken sucks!!

Google Lice Clinics of America. Hopefully there is a location near you.

The lice clinic. My daughter had it several times last year and I finally found out it was her bf family that had it. I took her to live clinic and the dehydrate the lice and eggs and then they put a topical on it and then they pick the dead lice out and put more topical stuff in her hair. It is amazing g place. It was $155 but well worth it. They tell you to do what you normally do clean the bedding and stuff like that.

I hate to say this but… might have to cut some hair :frowning:

Tea Tree oil… Put some in your shampoo and conditioner. It actually repels them. Keep doing it and you’ll see the difference

Don’t forget to clean the car seat

I would suggest while at school her belongings go in a trash bag or container with lid to keep separate from others. My child had continuous bouts with those critters too and when I made her take a bag to school and keep her belongings separated it finally stopped. It seemed like at least twice a week she came home with a note, her school was and still is notorious for this issue

I think you know what to do. Shave it

Tea tree oil
Coconut shampoo

Mayo!! Thick Mayo!! Wrap head and hair for 24 hours.
Then wash with tea tree shampoo/conditioner 3x.

Mayo her head thick and keep and bag on it for a few hours…clean and vaccuum wash everything and even check urself…bag all stuffed animals to suffocate them

You may have to cut her hair.

Coconut oil or mayonnaise

Cut all her hair off and then use the treatment that should work

Baby powder the hell out of her whole damn head put on a shower cap, spread some on her, the bedding and pillows. After a day dust that stuff out get rubbing alcohol soak her head wrap with a towel and get a water bottle to mist spray the rubbing alcohol where ever she lay. Unwrap that head and start to comb it out. My momma used to help friends and neighbors and that’s what I remember her doing. Boy o boy me and my sisters would be so mad bringing kids with lice to our house, but we never got them by the grace of God

Have u tried KWELL SHAMPOO? It’s works wonder

I had to shave my head

Vaseline and then a shower cap

Cut her hair, that’s the best option

Have you tried mayonnaise

prescription from Doctor…Quell shampoo

Melissa Davis where do you get the horse warmer stuff.

I’ve ways heard mayo  I’ve fortunate enough to never having to try it. But I heard it works well.

Pick them out daily and cover her head in Vaseline

Mayonnaise, wrap and a comb

Cut her hair. It will grow back. This is crazy lol!!!

Re- Infection! This is an excellent product. I’ve used it for 5 years now.
After putting the protectant on EVERYONE in the home as recommended on the product… THEN try everything you’ve been doing.
Ps… Lice HATE Rosemary and tea tree oil. Both can be VERY toxic to animals and to humans in large amounts. But might want to consider using some essential oils on pillow cases etc. Best of luck. I cannot imagine how hard this must be… :pensive:

I have 4 daughters! I’ve dealt with Lice 2x an the 1st time was kinda easy but the 2nd time around ohhhhh I had a rough time trying all types of different things then the last product I bought was from target very inexpensive too…it’s like a spray shampoo an you let it sit in the hair until it dries then comb it out then repeat if necessary but I tell you my daughter who has really thick hair only needed one go around so I was very pleased. I think I used maybe a bottle in a half total for 3 of my girls. Sorry your having to deal with this hopefully you can get everything under control an back to normal mom. I know how much Lice Suck!

Sounds like you’re doing everything right keep up with your cleaning ritual ,however, try lice free, Both mine and my sister’s daughter had this episode 2 summers ago and we just got shower caps put lice free in their hair and let them run around all day with it in their hair because it’s not damaging or drying out Also Spray tea tree oil around your home it smells good non evasive no chemicals and absolutely works You just get tea tree oil comes in a small black vial you only need 4 to 5 drops to a spray bottle of water

We used this shampoo and conditioner all the time while my kids are in school and when they were in daycare as a prevention measure a daycare mom mentioned it to us and said her daughter had lice prior and she treated it then used this stuff after to help combat idk if it’ll help or not but worth a try Walmart brand is a cheaper cost and has worked the same. That was my biggest fear with daycares and Thankfully we’ve never had to experience this. Prayers to you and your little momma

I’d cut her hair. There are plenty of cute styles, then I would call a salon that rids them for you. They are specialty hair people. It is more expensive but if you are truly desperate

I know the feeling my daughter had head lice for 9 mths and I tried so many things it was a nightmare and she would scream everyday with me combing it I finally got rid of them with hedrin 15 it’s an oily based takes 15 mins it saved my life they didn’t like it

Head start and pre K nightmare… this worked great! No smell, no burning… but never truely got rid of the lice until her dermatology prescribe a pill for scabies

This worked for us… had what drs called super lice.

Try coconut oil overnight and comb through the next day with the NittyGritty comb. Use a hot hair straightener a few times a week to burn out any remaining eggs

There are also places that will do the work for you.

We went through this in kindergarten. My hair stylist told me that contrary to popular belief lice don’t like oily, greasy hair. She said dont wash your hair for like 4 days at a time and let the oil build up. We spent hundreds of dollars on treatments for my daughter. This was like a 4 month long nightmare. I never got them due to me always wearing my hair up, following my hair stylists orders and also spraying my hair profusely with lice prevention spray. You said your daughters hair is to her butt… its allowing the lice to easily travel up to her head from wherever she is picking them up at (for my daughter she was getting them at school). We also bought this electronic comb that did help out. It sucks the lice down into a chamber. Let me see if I can find the pictures of all the stuff we used.

Might help to cut some of the length off to start. My daughter had it bad in school. After 2 weeks of trying different things, we used a flat iron and it finally got rid of them. Sprayed rosemary oil lightly in her hair for weeks to keep them gone

My mom.had to cut my hair all the way to my scalp almost because the lice wouldnt go away

Get rid of every soft surface you can, all stuffed toys, all pillows, all bedding, even mattress and box spring. If you can remove carpets, do that. If not, shampoo and fog bomb your entire home. Her hair may have to be cut. I know no one wants that, but it may be the only option. I’d go with tons of coconut oil, tea tree oil, rosemary and peppermint mixed in the coconut oil, plastic wrap her hair and head, heat her head if you can with a blow dryer 12-18 inches away and have her sleep with the mix and wrap on. Comb out through every strand in the morning.

Mix mayo and eggs together put it on her hair wrap it up in a towel and then a plastic bag or garbage bag covering her whole head for at least 24hrs

Treat the whole family and then do it again 2 weeks later

Nix, then get in there and pull every single lice egg off hair shafts. Treat beds, pillows, furniture, carpeting, any floor spot kid frequents, wash all clothing, rugs, pillows. Vacuum, vacuum, vacuum! Repeat every day till you dont find new bugs, nits…ps head check everyone your kid hangs with or wants to come in your house.

Die her hair it will kill them even if you die the same color it is naturally

They have services that do it for you. Like a salon, but just for lice. It’s not cheap and it’s not fast, but it’s guaranteed

Put coconut oil on dry hair at night and bag it up. It will suffocate the live ones and loosen the eggs. Wash it out and then comb it out.

HEAT… Blow dry her hair every night and add tea tree oil to shampoo and conditioner.

Cut it and start over. Shave it. It’s your only hope. IMPO

Put hair dye in her hair

Cut the hair . Redo the treatments . Bomb the house , wash the bedding .

Following as I have 6 kids but one gets lice soo bad every other day treating em!

Hi I have on going problems with head lice with my grandsons like you I have tried every thing but got on to a head lice cap it takes 40 mins to do the hair but work well it suffocated the lice and the eggs you still have to comb the hair then was hair as normal then in about a week I use just the stuff you can get from the Dr I got the caps from my local super save store go to www.licecap.co.nz if you need more info just pm me

Also need a shower cap! Drench her hair in this put the shower cap on over night… kills all three stages of lice!! My sisters and I all had lice and we all hair thick curly hair… no comb was going to work and this did the job then of course wash all bedding and such has to be the original yellow kind

Don’t forget your car- seats, head rests, etx

Call your Dr they will call you in a script.

Listen closely. Be careful and cover her eyes. Pour rubbing alcohol 95% on her head. Let it sit in a bag for 10 min. Wash it out and then use cocunt oil or olive oil to get the nits out… the alcohol kills the bugs instantly and dehydrates the eggs

You can use dog shampoo (doesnt dry the hair out … most are very conditioning and smell nice) … yes i know it sounds weird … but lice on humams is like fleas on dogs ( not that im calling your baby a dog … never that ) but most dogs shampoos are for lice also … use its every 3 days in the shower … this really works cause those lice eggs hatch every 7 days and depending on when they were layed and if she has alot you wanna catch those lil suckers as they hatch … also dawn bleach alternative dish washing liquid kills them also ON CONTACT just condition really good after … i know these sound weird but ive been doing hair for 25 yrs and these have worked on my clients kids … i would have them leave the salon and id go to their house to help them treat their kidos cause we cant do it in the salon … also these are pocket friendly remedies… its worth a shot

Lice can only live on a human host. Calm down about washing everything and bagging it. There is a lot of misinformation on lice. And the over the counter medicine is not powerful enough. They have morphed over the years and it is toxic.
Mayonnaise on the head. Cap it. For hours even overnight. Then comb every strand of hair. Use your fingernail. Or pay a service. It can be solved no chemicals, poison, or fear. They are rampant in public school. Spray tea tree and water blend under the name of the neck and hair on backpacks and jackets. It helps repel.
