My baby struggles to poop but the doctor doesn't listen: Advice?

Karo syrup. The clear kind. Once a day in her bottle, about one tablespoon worth. Shake well. Will totally keep her regular.

I agree with everyone else saying to get a new doctor.

Get another pediatrician! If the dr doesn’t listen you need to move on get a dr who cares

Find a new doctor who will listen.

U know ur baby better than anyone-get a 2nd opinion & keep getting them until ur baby feels better & ur at ease

Try a new pediatrician if you feel like the one you have isn’t listening

She is colicky mama … these ladies have definitely covered it well :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Squeeze a freshly cut Orange and give her a ts of that, you’ll thank me later.Works wonders

Give her something sweet to eat … helps my children alot

Give her a little Karo syrup that is only thing worked with my kids putin her bottle with her milk

Natural gas drops or gripe water helped my son

Trust your instincts and see another paediatrician

Couple things: constipation is more than hard poop. So you are right to be concerned. It is NOT normal for a baby to go 5 days without a bm.

Is your formula high iron? If it is, you could try the low iron kind. That might work. My son was lactose intolerant and had severe bowel problems.

At one point, he had been in pain so long and finally went. While changing him, he started to go again and finally got more out-it was explosive and went all over me. I LAUGHED. I was so relieved for him.

We switched to soy formula and it fixed everything. Even WIC programs that pay for formula will allow soy if your doctor orders it. It not a prescription item, just needed for the programs.

This could also be gas retention caused by collic. They make gas drops for babies and if it helps, you can ask you Dr about “levsin” a prescription that helps with this.

Most importantly, if your Dr continues to ignore your concerns, GET A NEW ONE. God gave mothers an instinct for their kids for a reason. Trust yours. Good luck.

Doesn’t hurt to Get a second opinion.

Change her formula for fussing and gasses

Sounds like colic…could be from a number of things 1) if she is formula fed it could be too much iron or she needs soy based, try substituting one bottle per day with prune juice…or 2 ounces of prune juice after bottle, if she take table or baby food offer prunes and apples daily and water. 2) if she is breastfed you may need to look at your own diet and stress level, I would give gripe water and use a low set warming pad and tummy time 3) get a new pediatrician! They should be going above and beyond to hear you out and offer support, advice and diagnostics if necessary.

Jell-o water. Take about a 1/4th of a teaspoon of the powdered jello and add it to some warm water. Works like a charm!!!

Put 1 tsp of White Kari Syrup in bottle and it will help them go easier.
