My husband complains my food isn't good: Help!

Tell him if he dont like wat u cook thers a burger place down tha road I think ur a great cook hes just being a particular whiney ass kid tell him chang ur diaper an eat ur a marvelous cook hunny

Or impossible cheeseburger pie which is Bisquick as directed on box, add cooked ground beef seasoned salt, pepper, onion chopped, garlic. Cheese and mix and place in a greased pie plate and baked for 25 mins at 375

Delish has great recipes. Everything I make from there turns out good. I also use Marley Spoon meals, they ship all of the ingredients and recipes. I figured out that I actually spend less on groceries this way.

How about having him cook?

This is so good and easy.

Lord tell him to do it his damn self then

Taste everything as you go, and don’t be afraid of seasoning things with things besides salt and pepper. One of my family favorites is shepherds pie. Brown some hamburger, season with a hamburger or steak house seasoning blend, drain the grease and mix in a jar of beef gravy, put in the bottom of a baking pan (usually I use a 9x13 but have done bigger depending on how many I’m feeding), top the hamburger with drained, canned sweet corn, take big drops of mashed potatoes and drop them all over the top of the corn and ground beef and spread it gently because everything will want to stick to the potatoes, sprinkle shredded Colby Jack cheese on top and bake for a half hour at 375.

I’m not a very good cook either but this was easy enough for me and taste so good! Look this up on allrecipes chicken francaise

Follow every recipe the way it is written. Then after you get a few under your belt you can tweak it anyway you want. Ask him what he likes to eat then google a simple recipe. Easy peasy. And a slow cooker is a God send.

Tell him to cook then

Let me just say You Tube lol. Just look up simple easy recipes at first. Most those videos show you step by step!

Spices !!! All recipes is amazing spot , Pinterest . Do a casserole or 2 but reach out . Do a old school meal , plan your recipes through the week. Spaghetti with meatballs , maybe fried or baked pork chops with rice and cabbage , do burritos one night , I always stuff mine with mexi corn, seasoned black beans and Spanish rice , and queso with a meat y’all enjoy in it don’t forget the lettuce, tomato etc . I will do shrimp and steak , or ground turkey , chicken cut up . Another night do a whole chicken so easy put in toaster pan in oven with lots of butter and seasoning very easy side it with cheesy mashed potatoes , a fav vegetable. I learned that keeping a solid menu through the week helps. Sometimes it’s hard I work 60 hours a week so I find it a bit easier.

Sear the meat before roasting it. Holds in the juices and keeps the spices infused. It’s my daughters and i’s favorite trick that hello fresh taught us. That, and if a dish has a time on it, go by it. Try it- then add more time if needed

It’s not about your recipes girl. It’s about your seasonings! Don’t be afraid to season your food. Season any meat before you add it to your main dish. Good all around seasoning. (Slap ya mama, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper girl)

Pinterest has simple good recipes.

You gotta season the food. Lol. There’s so many things to sue but I use sautéed onions alot. Especially in spaghetti or when I make certains meats.
I can’t say I use recipes, per se, so start googling what you can do with noodles, even ramen, chicken, pork chops, etc. We don’t use beef bc we use deer meat and that gets cooked a bit different.
You’ll get there, it just takes practice. :black_heart:

When my husband and I married 23 years ago, I went to his mom’s house and had her teach me to cook. Everyday we would cook a different meal together and then after a while I could cook anything and the way husband liked it. Best thing I ever did cause now I can cook some good food❤

My bf doesn’t really like my “Yankee food” lol we live in the south where he’s from. So I told him that’s fine, you are now in charge of food shopping and cooking. There’s a few things he likes that I make so if he wants them he will buy everything I need to make them. Make it his responsibility if your cooking isn’t “good enough”. There’s also the frozen “tv dinner” option.

I don’t cook the best but my husband is a great cook, we alternate who cooks! He still eats what I cook, its decent but I’m always worried that it dont taste the greatest but he doesn’t complain about it besides I made a new meal once and he said it didnt taste good!

He sounds unappreciative. I’d make him make his own shit

You tube and pinterest. Start out simple and go from there. Ask him what his favorite meals are, then search for the recipes. Also, if you don’t have one already, get a crockpot. There are so many easy and delicious recipes.

Step 1: tell him he can cook for himself
That’s it, that’s the only step to this recipe :woman_shrugging:t3:

When my husband and I married, back in the dark ages. We spent the first year with me trying to cook. It was pretty much hopeless. I can bake, but not really “cook”. OTOH, he was hopeless at balancing the checkbook. We made an agreement on our first anniversary that he would cook if I cleaned up after, and I would make sure that the finances stayed in the black. We’re celebrating 40 years this year. He cooks all sorts of awesome things, I clean up the kitchen after dinner. In a pinch, I can cook pasta and toss a salad.

***Magic Pie Lemon ***

*** Ingredients:***

° 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed Eagle Milk (not evaporated milk)

° 1/2 cup lemon juice

° 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel or 1/4 teaspoon lemon extract

° 2 eggs, separated

° 1 graham cracker or baked pie crust (8 or 9 inches)

° 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

° 4 tablespoons of sugar

Directions:

Preheat oven 325 degrees F . In a medium bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, lemon juice, lemon peel or extract, and egg yolk; Stir until the mixture thickens. Pour into refrigerated graham cracker crust or refrigerated pie crust.

In a medium bowl, beat egg whites and cream of tartar on high speed until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar, whisking on medium speed, 1 tablespoon at a time; Beat for 4 minutes or until the sugar has dissolved and becomes stiff and glossy.

Spread the meringue over the pie, carefully closing it at the edge of the crust to prevent shrinkage. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until they turn light brown. Let it cool down. Leave leftovers covered in the refrigerator.

I’d stop cooking for him and make him do it and see how good he does it…

It’s all a learning experience. Don’t be afraid to try things and fail. It’s all part of learning. Although Pinterest gives out a lot of different ideas, I found that the recipes usually aren’t that good. I tend to go back to old fashioned recipes that are tried and true from women who knew how to cook. You can YouTube “how to” methods all day long. Sometimes the easiest recipes (and not from a box) are just as good. Such as a roast chicken with potatoes and veggies. Simple and quite tasty.

Beef Pot roasts are easy to make. Just salt and pepper to taste. Cook these veggies in the roasting pan with the roast. Carrots, Onions Celery and potatoes. Add a half cup of water for every pound of beef.

The carrots onions and celery when cooked together actually create a great tasting flavor. Potatoes are for the starch. Do not forget the water otherwise it will come out with a dry roast and vegetables.

What is his favorite dish, try it with a couple different seasonings and let him decide which one out of maybe three meals taste the best. Experiment with flavors. Learn how they smell and what they do to your food.

U can find recipes. And directions 4 whatever foods are ur favorites on Instagram n You tube. And ijs, if he ever wants u to cook again he should b complimenting you on how much effort u make and tell u when it is good!!! He can cook then. Problem solved, win win. Keep cooking like shit and maybe he will take over. The dudes hit us with the weaponized incompetence. Hit back!
