Nope this happens with toddlers and babies they bump their little heads and get hurt exploring sometimes unless there is a reason to expect the bruises are from abuse then nothing usually comes of it. Most social workers are very good at determining what is abuse and what is accidental or normal occurances in childhood. My sin went to school with the whole side if his face bruised from a bike accident and looked like we beat the crap out of him luckily he was wearing a helmet and gear but the school just asked him what happened never reported it or anything.
I’m pretty sure they would have showed up the hospital if that was the case, I wouldn’t worry bout it.
Let them show up if you’re not abusing your child And he fell off the bed then you have nothing to worry about
I mean it’s possible they may make a report(I highly doubt they will) however the likelihood of them actually showing up is small. Babies fall all the time if we reported everytime a baby got a bump bruise or scratch especially if it’s consistent with let’s say falling, bumping their head on something or scratching themselves or accidentally getting scratched everyone who has a kid would get a visit. The thing I’d be concerned about is why your mil is freaking out about cps so bad. That as a mandated reporter would raise alarm bells. Your baby falling and getting a bruise would not.
My question is this… What else are you hiding to be so worried about a wellness visit? My kids have had insane things happen out of the blue and the hospital called CPS. They did a wellness check learned everything was just fine and left me alone. Seems like there’s more to the story to be afraid.
Most babies do that at least once. They are amazingly resilient.
Absolutely not. If the injuries are consistent with what happened it was an accident and medical personnel will not report an accident. Children fall off stuff all the time. Yall did the right thing calling for help and getting the child checked out. You did what was expected of you in that situation.
No you’re fine and if they do it looks like an open shut case
My son fell down my basement steps took him to the hospital he had a mild concussion and they didn’t call cps. They might but you called immediately and they would have that on record so there wouldn’t Even be a case.
They can tell a difference from abuse to a fall by just looking at other parts of the body.
Don’t matter if they did you are not obligated to talk to them… at all…
Kids falling off the bed is like a right of passage into parenthood
Honestly they might check up on him? Usually if there was genuine concern they would have came at the time of the ambulance. If they do show up please be kind to them and grateful they care.
When my son was 9 months I fell down the stairs holding him (worst mom fail ever and I feel so awful). And the EMTs came and checked him and myself out. He was fine. And CPS was never called or even hinted at. Accidents happen
Am I the only one thinking that it was a little excessive to call 911 over falling off the bed?
My 2 year old daughter fell off the trampoline and hit her head on concrete last Saturday. She hit hard.i wasnt home either she was with her dad and my dad. Took her to the er and have a follow up apt this wed. No cps called so far on us
My baby feel out of the bed cause I feel asleep in the hospital she was only a day old. And my oldest around 9 months fell down a flight of stairs In a walker. Someone forgot to close the gate it was the scariest thing she was fine. but I was scared for the Same thing but the doctors knew it was an accident your doctor knows the difference between a accidental fall and abuse to a child you are ok. Kids get hurt and fall all the time .
If they did there’d be no reason to worry. If they came it would be just to look and be sure. When there is no actual issue there is nothing they could do.
My kids have gotten hurt falling off of beds, tractors, water slides, skating etc you name it. I’ve never had cps show up?! It’s weird to be so overly worried. If they did it should be no worries…
They likely will but don’t panic over it. If your house is on order then they’ll come do an investigation & you’ll be fine. Be honest with them about how it happened.
Only time cps would come if it has happened more times and they think he was abused thr hospital would call if you took him there if it wss more often
My baby fell off the bed too, it happens to literally every parent on the planet at least once. No need to CPS to get involved
I believe that paramedics are mandated reporters, and I know doctors definitely are, so it’s highly likely. If they do just explain to them what happened.
Kids fall. I don’t think they’ll come
Unfortunately sometimes cps will be called. May not since you didn’t go to the hospital but never know
Unfortunately sometimes cps will be called. May not since you didn’t go to the hospital but never know and I think paramedics are obligated to call
My son made some way out reports at school once and cps showed up at my door. Asked their questions was in their way. If it’s not true, you have no reason to worry about it.
No, they may do like one follow up but if this is the first incident and there were no signs that pointed to abuse at all, I highly doubt it. Now, it the baby had bruises that couldn’t have been caused by the fall, they probably would. If you’re doing nothing wrong and it was an accident then it shouldn’t be a problem.
Could CPS show up? Yes, they absolutely could.
Will they? Likely not.
If there is no signs of abuse I wouldn’t worry about them showing up.
This happens to kids all of the time. You’ll be fine. If anything the fact that you called 9 11 shows you were very proactive. If you don’t have anything to hide at a cps visit don’t sweat it.
If he didn’t try taken to the hospital I doubt they’ll show up
They would only call CPS if they seen signs of abuse or neglect.
Doctors can tell when something is an accident vs negligent or violent. You should be fine!
Accidents happen! If by chance they do get called just be open and honest. I can’t say whether or not they’ll be called but if your son was seriously injured I’d hope they wouldn’t be called.
My daughter fell off the bed in the care of my mother when she was 2 months old. I rushed her to the emergency room, she was laughing and playing by the time we got to the car, but it was my first baby so I was completely frantic. She was absolutely fine by the time doctors got a look at her, they told me it happens all the time and they see it more often than we think - CPS was never contacted.
No, no worries. If you hadn’t taken all the precautions and necessary steps to follow up- maybe, and that maybe is pretty big, if this is the only time anything like this has happened… kids fall, it’s a fact of life… don’t be too hard on yourselves! Accidents happen! Just be mindful for future reference, those little boogers move QUICKLY! Lol
I am a social worker and I can tell you CPS will not show up if the doctor and EMT didn’t report it. You will be ok. My own kid have felt off the bed.
No I don’t think so accidents can happen in a split second. If your dr otherwise had no suspicious of abuse or neglect, and there were no serious injuries then you don’t have to worry about CPS
If your kid has never fallen off the bed at least once then are you really a parent?? happens to the best of us! The fact he called for medical help instantly proves he is a good parent & very unlikely CPS will be called! Don’t stress xx
I would say no, BUT, even if they do show up, they’ll quickly see that baby is loved and well cared for, so don’t worry about it. Things happen and they know that. They’re not going to take a child away from a home where he/she is clearly cared for.
I can’t tell you how many times my kids have fallen off a bed and cps was never notified. Always told Dr the truth with bumps and bruises.
Maaaan my kids were crash test dummies and they turned out fine! I’ve taken them to the ER several times. It’s sad that the good parents have to be so paranoid of CPS and the bad parents don’t get theirs taken away.
No they wouldn’t…The only reason they would is if they reported it or CPS had probable cause to investigate.
Don’t worry. There are no signs of abuse
No… he called 911…baby was ok… and that is obviously someone who cares…
This happens to the best of us
They shouldn’t my son tripped an fell with his sister when she was like 6months and we did the same an I took her that same day after ambulance came to hospital just to make sure they run test an she was good nobody called no one an I think they are trained 4 to see abuse
Unless she’s doing things to harm your child then she shouldn’t be worried. People are weird now a days. I get being worried but cps wont come if he fell off the bed and was check by ems your good.
My little one fell of the bed same scenario and CPS did not show up. As long as there are no injuries consistent with long term abuse ur fine. Accidents happen and doctors understand that. Tell ur MIL to settle down… being a parent is stressful enough lol
No. Tell her to STFU
A little one falling
off a bed is expected. Especially because they’re now moving around. You had him checked…no worries.
No. Not unless they suspect abuse
She is paranoid. Accidents like that happen all the time. I’m sure every mother has experienced this at least once
If you would have failed to go to pediatrician apt they were already alerted most likely and then you would have been reported as possible neglect but since the child saw doctor right after ect you shouldn’t have any thing to worry absolutely
No accident happened sometimes and I think you guys handled the situation great
If you didn’t have to go the hospital you should be okay, normally ER doctors will call if they see bruises just as a precaution
They would only show up if the pediatrician felt it was abuse and he didn’t actually fall off the bed
Nope, happens to almost everyone at one point or another, you guys should be fine. Blessings
This is fine but I’m telling you now if they show up you cannot let them in the house you’re doing nothing wrong you cannot let them in the house… You can bring the baby outside you can let them see the baby talk to the baby let them know what happens but that’s it you do not let them in your house.
No not unless someone think it neglect
I think a baby falling off a bed is a right of passage…all 3 of mine did it at some point. You have nothing to worry about! It was a true accident and honestly, if paramedics had any suspicion of abuse, they would have called law enforcement right then and there.
All 3 of my babies have fallen and 2 hit there head at some point (my youngest is only 5 months give her time it will happen) it’s life they are all fine and the hospital never contacted cps and with my oldest she’s a clutz like her mom she fell off a 15 foot slide and broke her arm she’s ran into a garbage bag and cut her ankle on a broken plate she snuck out into the kitchen at night got past the child Locks grabbed a knife and tried cutting her chips and cut her finger open now and I didn’t buckle her up in the cart right away and I was looking at the plants for only a second and next thing I knew she fell out of the cart and hit her head that one scared the shit outta me we called 911 and everything all other times I’ve taken them into iwk emergency but I’m telling you theses because it’s a lot (I just realized how bad it was) but we’ve never had cps come to our house over phoenix’s falls I doubt they will come to your house I’m glad your baby is okay
They won’t come. If they do just have a conversation with them. It actually takes a lot for kids to get taken from their home.
No. Do you realize this happens to pretty much everyone?
CPS will only show up when you go to the ER. And then are appointed a case to your home. CPS doesn’t just come because you tripped or fell. Gezzz
My son has fell off the bed, scootched his sit up chair off the table, hit his head multiple times, etc and we’ve always taken him to the hospital. I feel like if you’re guilty of something, you wouldn’t have taken him in/called an ambulance. Your mil is being dramatic or calling them herself
No they won’t. Falling off the bed was a complete accident and this happens a lot more then you think. But nobody is screaming abuse over it. I have called my kids pediatrician more times then I can count panicking over an accident happening and never have I ever had CPS show up at my door. Your fine!
Not at all don’t stress
Not typically but even if your doctor did call, They just come and ask a few questions to make sure your kids aren’t being abused or neglected. If they aren’t you have nothing to worry about.
It happens at least once. It’s horrible and you’re sick to your stomach over it. The baby is fine. There’s nothing faster than a child. CPS can tell when a child has been abused like that.
If your baby is fine, then it’s all good. They won’t show up, but if they do, document everything.
It all depends on the paramedics who came actually because they would be the ones reporting
They won’t show up over one incident. My almost 14th month old has fallen off the bed numerous times. We aren’t neglectful, she’s just fast and likes to push the limits. I also have an almost 10 year old and 6 year old who were the same way and they are perfectly fine. I agree it’s a right of passage for both babies and parents. As long as baby is acting fine, nothing is protruding, bleeding and no loss of consciousness then no need to call 911 or go to ER and no reason for anyone to need to get CPS involved. Now if baby ends up in ER with several broken bones in various stages of healing or a skull fracture and being neglected, that is another story. It is scary but no need to worry.
They won’t show up they can tell if a baby has been abused or not all babies fall off or something sooner or later don’t let these people scare you
They truly could… but in this situation it is highly unlikely.
A Dr. Would have reported it if he thought it was abuse.
You should never be afraid for CPS to show up if you are doing nothing wrong. It will be fine
No they won’t be called. Both my kiddos fell off the bed or couch.
If they do u just tell them what happened… Esp if u had conversations with ur Dr and have apts set up and u can always get a report from the emergency crew that came … U have nothing to worry about
I know a girl who had child services involved after her baby fell off her bed. Yes it can happen- it doesn’t always but it does.
OK so as a mum my son hit himself on the same glass table twice in a space of two weeks at my friends house.
I received a follow up call from the health visitor for each incident.
I’ve also worked in schools and nurseries which has a safeguarding hub which is call MASH. This system allows all professionals and agencies to get data regarding issues from one place. From once the incident is logged you should receive a call from perhaps a health visitor or so but its nothing to worry about accidents happen. If it goes to social services (CPS) a referral has already been made.
Kids fall they get bumps and bruises and CPS is a bunch of bullshit and a waste and do not protect the children in their care they can fuck off your just fine kids will be kids
You took the necessary steps to insure your son had not been injured so I don’t think there is anything to worry about
Wouldn’t be surprised if they did just saying but you should habe nothing to worry about
You did the right thing. If the Dr. thought anything was amiss, he would have done so.
If they show up it’ll just be to check in because technically your fiance turning his back for even a second is considered negligent not abusive. It’s very common for them to come by after something like this happens but it’s nothing to worry over,as long as your home is safe and you’ve got formula and bay food for him they’ll smile and be on their way. This kinda thing happens to basically every parent at least once
They’re not showing up, unless someone calls… And doctors aren’t calling over one fall off the bed.
Even if they did show up they would just check your baby maybe even a couple times. Just make sure your house is clean.
Only if sombody called cps your be investigates if nobody called them ur fine
Ok. I think we’ve all had one accidentally fall before and it’s a very scary feeling. But what concerns me is the fact that you mentioned a “few” bruises. How many bruises did one little fall make? Did he fall off and roll down stairs? I’m concerned. You should be too.
My 18 month old daughter jumped out of her grandmas arms and smacked her head on the coffee table really hard and she had to get 3 stitches! And CPS never showed up to my house! Accidents happen! I cried more than she did when it happened!
My baby fell off the bed and cut his mouth, blood everywhere. Ran him to the doctor who said everything is fine and then said, “Look. You’re good parents. Babies fall off beds all the time. They fall off couches, they fall off chairs. They fall. It’s what they do. Because they’re babies”.
I Get Paid 0ver $ 109 per hour w0rking from h0me. I never thought l’d be able to do it but my colleague makes over $ 13826 a m0nth doing this and she convinced me t0 try. The possibility with this is limitless.

No accidents happen dont worry xx
Cps coming to your home shouldn’t be something to fear…unless you have something to fear
Whewwww!!! They not calling CPS over that. My husband and I are good parents, but baby we went to the ER/pediatrician’s office a few times with our kids.
Kids are going to be kids. Dr’s and nurses are trained to look for abuse, but they are aware they accidents will happen with kids.
If the police show up, just answer their questions.
If your son fell off the bed and hit his head but had bruises all over his body then yes CPS would show up. But falling off the bed with a bruise or two is pretty normal. Im sure 9 out of 10 baby’s fall off of something at some point. I can understand the worry but no parent is perfect. As long as what happened lines up with the injuries then there’s no issue. Accidents happen
CPS won’t just show up. Someone has to call and make a report of negligence or abuse. Hospitals/EMTs won’t typically do this on a first account, unless there are extenuating reasons.
Seriously?? Literally everyone’s baby has fallen off the bed at least once. You took him to the doctor checked in with the pediatrician. You’re fine. Tell your MIL to shut up
