Rubbing alcohol works great u douce ur head and put a bag on it and leave on for like 4 hours

Extra hold hairspray all over the scalp and leave in for 24 hours.

Tea tree oil in the shampoo and also spray water mixed with tea tree oil in hair lightly to deter them. There is also sprays you can buy to spray in hair and shampoos to prevent further infestations.

My daughter and I went through this last year. We did Nix, but that wasn’t enough. Ended up going to a professional and they removed 5 more live ones. We now strictly use Fairy Tales for shampoo and conditioner. Lice like clean hair so washing every day is NOT ideal. Also, deep cleaning of your residence needs to be done, especially if there is any carpet and couches. Lint roll the seats of your vehicle as well. Good luck!

Shave his head. That’s the easiest way to deal with them for boys

Tea tree oil and tea tree shampoo conditioner can help keep them at bay. Its no big deal, I work in a school and have got them numerous times unfortunately. Your lad might of had a reaction to the chemicals go to your dr and get one of them free, if they’ve gone keep it incase it happens again, ive always got nit stuff in.

Rid. Nix doesn’t work. It took my mom and grandmother 8 hours to pick through my head when I was little. I had gotten them from a girl at school who’s parents refused to do anything with her hair. He could be sensitive to the bites which would make his scalp itch. Make sure you got all live bugs, eggs, nits all of it. Make sure you deep clean bed sheets, carpet, furniture inside and in your vehicle.

Olive oil will work better then any store bought treatment stuff. Warm it a little and it moisturizes your hair too.

Super lice are a pain. Try the lady big kit for super lice. All you had to do was miss one impossible to see egg and it keeps going. You will need one kit for now and do another one in 2 weeks.

Hand sanitizer works wonders. Put it on the lice comb and brush a section of hair. The nits just come out .
Fabric softener and conditioner mixed together works great too.

My sister suffered a LONG time with lice. And since we shared a room i did too but mine wasnt as severe as hers. We tried medicine shampoo. Old wives tales… The mayo :nauseated_face: Ect…
It wasnt until I dyed her hair that they completely died off.
But she was 16 yrs so not recommended on a yourger child.

Tea tree oil (diluted) works to prevent them. I heard the Yellow Listorine mouth wash kills the lice and the eggs…probably the alcohol in it. Good luck!

Lice is a very traumatic experience that you literally never mentally recover from…

I used to use the mayonnaise, wrap in plastic then heat with a hair dryer for 30 minutes. I did this every 3 to 4 days for a couple weeks. It’s amazing how missing just one bug can make the whole thing bad again. Your son could be itching because they actually bite. He might be healing if he had a bad case.

Please do not douse your children’s head with alcohol. Tea tree is safe and effective if used properly. if you are looking for a different method than Nix or store bought brands.

TEA TREE OIL!!! It works I’ve been there and learned the hard way! You can get it from walmart where the gummies are. It’s a liquid you just put a few drops of it in your shampoo kids shampoo and it WILL kill lice and eggs and it repells them too!

You can see if the dr can prescribe an antibiotic. Penicillin will kill them. Also Coconut oil in the hair consistently for like a week. Your hair will be greasy but it works. It suffocated them and nothing can latch on when they hatch. All bedding dry on high heat and stuffed animals should be bagged up for 48 hours, longer if u want to be sure

Use nyda spray it on before bedtime and leave it in overnight rinse in morning n repeat in 2 weeks trust me theyll all be gone but you have to do all of yours same time and wash all bedding after as well. And buy a metal double sided comb works way better then those cheap plastic ones and doesnt pull as bad either. Then after your done ur 2nd treatment in 2 weeks buy head and shoulders with tea tree in it n use at each wash itll help prevent them from coming bak.

No matter what we did, my daughter fought those nasty things for months. And im super anal but they just wouldnt go away.

I used Resultz and it worked better than nix for my kids when they got lice.

Stuffed animals, carpets, dirty laundry. Any thing that has fabric they will cling to.

Your son could be itching because the chemicals are super harsh and likely dried out his scalp.

Over the counter lice medicine doesn’t work only prescription and you have to bag up everything like dolls anything with hair or stuffing and wash down all other toys and do your couch and beds everyday after two weeks they will be gone and also comb his and your hair everyday or after bath or in bath and I always keep a nit comb on hand and comb though my daughters hair even though it’s been years since she had it it’s very hard to get rid of

Tea oil shampoo hair spray in the mornings before they go to school

Tea tree shampoo and conditioner x

What I did was rubbing alcohol but washed it out right away. I also used the lice stuff before and it worked kinda. But the rubbing alcohol I had my son (he was like 2) sit in the bathtub and poured it little by little on his head a few days after lice treatment. His hair was thin so it worked well and I shampooed after. For me since I have really thick hair I treated my own head as well with the lice stuff but then also used rubbing alcohol and coconut oil. Left the oil sit in my hair overnight and washed it out in the morning. At minimum I would say leave it on an hour. The rubbing alcohol you have to just be very careful with

This lady is terrific! I work in childcare and this lady is a saint!

Yo have to remove everything including toys from sleeping area, double bag and close tightly, leave in bag 2 weeks to kill any live lice and eggs. I used mayonnaise and a shower cap when my girls had it as well as me when i found myself on a business trip in a 5 star hotel, front desk had no treatment but did have mayonnaise and a shower cap. Rub generously through paying extra attention to whiny ears and nape of neck, cover with cap for 2-3 hours-the oil suffocates bugs and kills eggs

Put all stuffed animals and things like that in a plastic bag and tie it tightly shut for about 2 weeks. Make sure air cant get into the bags

Spray your car as well

I put tea tree oil in everyones shampoo it Keeps them away. We saturate hair in tea tree oil and wrap with with saran wrap for about half hour then wash it out and pick all the dead bugs and nits out

I use rubbing alcohol and let sit in hair for like 10mins with a bag over it and then I rinse it out and use coconut oil and comb through it’s worked for me

Two yrs ago my daughter was in Kindergarten and literally got lice once a month from August-January :expressionless: The first time she got it, I ended up getting it as well. Literally NOTHING would work for our hair. I tried Nix, I tried a couple other brands, I tried Mayo, and my daughter had long beautiful hair and it would take 12+ hrs to comb through her hair. After the treatments I even dried and straightened her hair… Nothing worked until I finally tried Vamousse. It comes in a red mousse like bottle and worked everytime! And was super easy to use. As for the itching, if you aren’t seeing anything it could just be from the bites. My daughter would itch for a day or two after sometimes.

You can still scratch up to 10 days after its gone… its the actual bite thats still itchy. Just keep doing what your doing momma!

Look with your hands lol kutu could be on the scalp haha

I went through almost an entire school year off and on fighting head lice with my daughter. In the end, i could have saved a TON of money by just taking her to a lice clinic. It was the ONLY thing that worked. Replace your pillows, pillow cases, sheets, blankets, and remember to spray the seats in your car with the spray stuff. Peppermint spray also works really well.

I have had done to me and I have also done the same to my girls and I warn you it’s a little stinky and can be toxic but when you have done everything possible, go get some diesel fuel. Soak for a few min and rinse and wash also clean all linen

When my boys got it again, I just used the hair clippers, cut the hair super short did the treatment and masses of laundry. Problem was solved. Hair grows back.

Just killing lice will not get rid of them u have to get rid of the eggs also

The quickest way I got rid of it in my household was to put all bedding in dryer everyday for 2 weeks while also using the nit comb 2-3 times a day washing hair every night with tea tree in shampoo and conditioner , I’ve tried every other way before just doing this , we tried the live zapper comb , spent so much on lice treatments , even tried dying our hair , nothing worked til I did what I suggested

lice seem to be evolving to be able to hide better–my daughter dealt with this when her kids were little and I checked her hair several times but did not see any at first(I had dealt with it when she was little and they were easy to see) but she did have them! For her son, she shaved his head, it was just easier than combing through for hours for a hyper kid, her girls she cut their hair short so it was at least easier, and sat in front of a movie while doing the nit picking. You have to get every single nit! coconut oil with tea tree EO in it, coat the hair and put shower caps on overnight then wash, and do the nit picking. Then you need to treat again in 10 days or so to get any eggs that have hatched that you may have missed.

Clothes stuffed animals

When I was a kid we used cheap mayonnaise… and went to dr and prescribed a shampoo for lice… boil hairbrushes in hot water… wash sheets etc in hot water

Just keep combing through every single day. Tea tree oil, also run a hair straightener through everybody’s hair for a few days!!!

Tea tree oil works amazing on my 3 at getting rid and keeping them away

I just shave my sons any signs of them

Put tea tree oil in a spray bottle. Spray around hair edges every morning before going to school. Also put in shampoo that you all use. You can soak the head in coconut oil over night and wrap it. Then go through with nit comb. Rinse with vinegar and listerine. DRY all bedding, towels, clothes and stuffed animals on highest heat setting for at least 30 minutes. Boil brushes and combs.

We live in a government subsidized public housing apartment complex & constantly fight lice. I was 41 & had never had them and my older two kids had never had them, so this was all new to me as well. … I don’t want to break my daughter’s heart or hurt the other little girl’s feelings by saying they can’t play together anymore, after all it’s not the girl’s fault, their parents won’t treat like they are supposed to. But … Those shampoos dry out our heads really bad so use conditioner after and it also takes time for the bites to heal, so give it a little time. We found that my lil girl is allergic to something in the shampoos so we had to go with homeopathic. The lice free is fairly inexpensive and awesome, it kills them on contact and doesn’t make my head itch. My hair is to my waist and it works kind of like a detangler, I spray it on, brush through my hair with my regular hair brush to get the tangles out and then use the lice comb. Don’t forget to dry the stuffed animals. & Good luck to you!

Acvwill do the trick

We used a vinegar and water mix. Coat the hair with it and comb through with a fine tooth comb

Hes still itching bcuz of the bites. But continue doing what ur doing bcuz the babies can be so small that u cant see them

If theyre still there in week(the bugs) get the stuff for super lice bcuz regular delouser doesnt work on that strain

Cut his hair

Go to whole foods and get neem shampoo
Its gentle and works best

Bag stuff put it outside for couple weeks
Throw sheets in dryer

Mayo did the trick when I was a kid

Rosemary, eucalyptus, lavender and peppermint oils are all repellents for them. You have to wash every. Spray down everything with a water and essential oil solution. Also sulfur 8 shampoo that you can get at Walmart kills them too. Keep washing your hair with it and it’s not toxic like the lice stuff or as expensive. I would usually put it in and let it sit for a while and then wash it out. Its a pain but meticulously picking out the nits from the kids hair and washing yours regularly will help in time.

It sounds like you have a good process down to me. And retreating in the 7 days is the most important incase any eggs were missed. I would ask pediatrician. Maybe it’s an irritation from the Nix. If it didn’t seem to work I would recommend Lycell but it is super strong smelling but works extremely well. You can order it from amazon and comes fairly quickly. Sounds like your treatment may have worked though. We tried a robocomb thing but it shocked my daughter so I returned it the same day.

Call your doctor and get Sklice. It gets rid of all head lice

Coconut oil your hair before bed and wrap with a towel and sleep with it in. Wash everything you can in the washing machine on hot with blue listerene mouth wash. What you can’t wash, put in trash bags and tie tight for at least a couple weeks. Keep hair gel and hair spray on your and your sons hair.

Mayo never worked for us. Get tea tree oil and use that every night and sleep with a wave cap on. The scratching can take time, especially if he scratched his scalp raw. Just keep using the metal comb twice a day!

Whenever my daughter got lice I would use a store bought treatment, following the instructions but once done I then cover her hair in conditioner and comb it with the lice comb. Do this every few days (the conditioner and comb) and it will get rid of the adult lice and any hatchlings and most of the eggs

put stuffed animals in garbage bag

Vegetable oil. Helps get them to easily comb out. If its that bad then just pick them out one by one. Also their doctor can call in prescription strength treatment.

It can take more than a couple treatments. 2 years ago my Kindergartener brought it home.
Everyone but my husband got it. I was 28 pissed w lice and pregnant and we were switching out our washer/dryer so we didn’t have one.
Keep up with the treatments and then do preventive stuff too - cleaning couches, beds, soft toys, carpets, heads repeat. Repeat. It took about 1.5-2 months for us to no longer have any.

Cover the hair in coconut oil it will suffocate the lice, leave on for an hour or so and cover with a shower cap, then get apple cider vinegar and soak the hair as that will get rid of the eggs (vinegar strip’s the glue substance that keeps the egg attached to the hair ) and lice and get the oiliness from the coconut oil out, comb it with the lice come and they should be gone, and yes wash all linen, toys etc. Good luck with it all

He may still scratch even weeks after not finding anything. 1 because of the bites that he had previously and 2 because the treatment may irritate his scalp.

Drys the scalp. Do mayo on his hair instead.

All About lice has good information

Put stuffed animals in garbage bags tied shut for 3 days with some dryer sheets. Wash everything in hot water. Spray the seats in your car too. Shampoo the carpets with hot water.

The lice bite your head when you have them, so even if you get rid of it all, the itching won’t go away until the bites heal completely, which takes time if he keeps scratching them open. Try not letting him scratch so they can heal.

The only thing for my family to get rid of them is to soak the hair/head is apple cider vinegar for like 2 hrs cause it pretty much melts the eggs and the bugs and all you need to do is wash it out with normal shampoo and knit comb with normal conditioner…keep doing that til you get nothing coming out on the comb…also wash EVERYTHING IN HOT WATER

I went to a live specialist, and her advice was to comb every day for atleast 7 days ( even if you don’t see anything) and use a mayo and peppermint mix on the hair wrap in a plastic bag and apply heat

I just shaved the boys heads.

Don’t forget to clean all brushes as well

Use hair straightener to kill the eggs with the heat

Lice bite the scalp an can leave little scabs so it’s natural to still feel itchy for a few days ,just make sure you keep checking an repeat treatment in 7 then 14 days

TEA TREE OIL AND LISTERINE!!! Google will help you with these, however I have 2 mixed daughters and fought lice for 6 months – tea tree oil is gonna save you.

Shampoo your carpet too

he is probably itching where the lice have bitten him if there is no sign of eggs or lice

May have to call Dr. Lice can be resident to typical over the counter remedies.

I made tea water out of anise… star seed after doing their hair with a treat ment and the comb I used this water to style the hair… I bought a sturdy metal not comb and every 2 days I washed the hair regularly … left conditioner in the hair while I comed it with the nit comb (detangle with a reg brush or comb while the conditioner is in the hair ) I promise my girls never got lice again . The lice hate anise… look it up if you dnt trust me and the girls hated the smell but I was the boss lol :cowboy_hat_face:

I have a lot of hair. My sisters are mixed. I have all girls. I use listerine. It works like a charm every time. As does hair dye if you dye your hair. Soak hair in listerine. Cover in plastic for 30 minutes. Wash hair and comb. Or dye hair and Wash and comb. Clean all bedding. Car seats, couches, everything. Boil brushed (I usually throw them out and buy new ones). All ready bears put in trash bags and go into garage for 2 weeks.

You’re going to have to move and leave everything behind. But before that shave everyone’s heads

Flat iron kills eggs. Use lice shampoo to kill adults, use flat iron daily for 2 weeks. Get ad close to the scalp as you can. The flat iron Burns the glue off the egg and turns it shiny (easier to remove). It also kills it. Also vacuum sofas, rugs, car seats daily or every other day for 2 weeks.

Carpet, stuffed animals, beds not just the linens but run the vacuum around the seams of the mattress, hot dry the pillows. I can’t remember how frequently eggs hatch, but you could kill the lice today and eggs will hatch tomorrow. It’s a process, good luck!

I use tea tree oil in every bottle of shampoo. Never had a problem!

It will stay itchu for a couple of days, how I have tackled the problem in the past is the nit treatment then I blow dry and flat iron my kids hair to fry andy buggers left over and spray tee tree oil mixed with water in there hair everyday (lice hate it) repaeat the treatment after 7 days and when every I wash their hair blow dry and flat iron again untill they are gone

Blow dryer ur hair and turn it upside down in a sink and run ur fingers or comb through. Also shake it like ur putting mouse in it after I blow dry. They will fall in the sink. Also dead nits will make him itch so clean them out

Mayo? Lol never heard of it, Man we had nits so many times as a kid we thought it was normal lol our mum would sit there every night and comb them out put treatment in our head over night to get rid of them and go back to school and pick them up again, it takes a few times of cleansing to get rid of them just keep repeating the process of combing at night before bed, Tea tree oil in a spray bottle for the hair during the day aswell… it’s not the end of the world I assure you heaps of children get them, But once my children passed them on to me it was the end of the world I even cried hahahaha. Lol relax a little though they can’t harm you apart from scratching too much, keep up with treatment and just do it every fortnight for a little while to be safe after there gone …
