Braggs apple cider vinegar in shower , rinse then organic coconut oil and a comb saturate then apple cider again then shampoo and conditioner
Wash everything in detergent and vinegar
Put an 8 wash out dye through he is hair
Put brushes and hair ties in the freezer for 72 hours to kill. It’s gentler than soaking in the solution.
Your definitely going to have to keep repeating this entire process about once a week for minimum a month or more. Don’t forget to vacuum everything in your vehicle.
along with listerine- ive heard coca cola works too. but mayonayse has worked for us in the past
make sure you spray things like your phone and all things usekeep your bedding washed every day put all toys in garbage sack spray them and close the bab for about 2 weeks. also you can use shorting or lard make sure you bag it and keep iton vernight ten wash it
also spray all furniture
I use a blow dryer it dries them out works every time
My daughter and I got lice from where idk but I put hair conditioner in our hair and let it sit for 20 minutes then separated sections and starting combing thru with a lice comb. I did this for a week and they were gone. Also washed all of our bedding in hot water and dried in a high temp dryer
He may be having an allergic reaction one of my kids needed Benadryl after she got it to help with the itch.
Keep combing through yours and your son’s hair for two weeks be very thorough (morning and night) and keep drying blankets and pillows daily as well make sure you spray car seats and such as well
Be careful with that house spray. I bought some too a couple months ago, but the warnings on it are crazy! And a lot of things on the internet said it was harmful and unnecessary as once they don’t have a host, they die quickly. We never used it. Just a suggestion to look up info on it!
You need to treat initial treatment then seven days then another 7 days. Treatment can cause dry scalp so using something like thatantidandruff really helps. Do a regular conditioner and comb in meantime.
Call your pediatrician. I had to get a prescription for a cream. I can not remember the name of the cream but if it helps it is also used to treat scabies. But the other thing I did that was apply a ton of conditioner to dry hair. Let it sit for a few mins then comb through with the nit comb. Put a shower cap on let it sit either an hour or as much as overnight and rinse really well. Blow dry and use a hair straightener if possible! Works like a charm!!!
We had it a few years ago including me. We tried a lot of products over the counter and home made remedies. The only thing we found that worked was called lice free spray. Wash all bedding and if it can’t be washed then I put it in a garbage bag in my outside storage for about a week.
My mom used Raid when I was a kid in 4th grade, haven’t had it since… lol I’m 33 now!
Scalps also need to heal if you have it bad. Healing scalps will still itch
V-comb electric head lice comb
Cosmetologist here. Have dealt with finding lice many times. You need to contact your pediatrician if you are still seeing itching and or lice. They will be able to give you professional advice and prescription for prevention and itching. Do not seek google for advice. Wash everything. Lice spread from hair to hair contact and love clean hair they can easily move through.
My kids and I got it from my sisters kids (they go to school where they got it from) i tried many ways to get them gone but I used Zap and it worked! Uses natural ingredients so the lice didn’t build up an immunity to it and it worked! 1 bottle did 2 treatments to 2 kids one with long thick hair and the other with long thin hair. Smells like black Liquorice but dam did it work!
Hair spray an alot of it. I had a friend that dealt with lice all the time an she used the kit as well…
You can also shave his head so it’s almost bald that way the lice have nothing to cling to…
They bite so it’s common to have itching even after treatment but it’s best to stay on top of it like it seems you are doing. My oldest daughter kept getting them in kindergarten and it was ridiculous… you can also add some tea tree oil to shampoo it’s a deterrent. But like they said above if it persists you may have to see the pediatrician for some prescription strength.
I put Tree Tea Oil in our shampoo so Everytime we wash our hair it’s retreating it to help prevent getting it again.
Try mixing T tree oil with water in spray bottle and spray it onn and comb it out
Put in a spray bottle head lice shampoo, vinegar and tea tree and then leave in hair a lil bit then wash out go through with nit comb and spray with tea tree
I had a horrible time years ago with my oldest. Nothing would kill the lice. Then I found this. It works the first time, every time. It’s also natural, it’s made in Texas from cedar oil. They don’t advertise it for lice, but it works wonders. No picking the hair for hours.
Vinegar heavy mineral oil mixed together leave on his head for a few hours then comb with a metal not comb the tines of the plastic ones splay to much to catch eggs
Their is a PILL!!! I HAD IT FOR 2 YEARS my mom tried everything and finally they gave me a pill it was gone in 3 days
Lice clinics of America have a guarantee. You can go there and have them treat your hair or order this product of theirs from Amazon
I had it once in grade 1 my mum used metho and a metal nit comb it went away very quickly after that my mum made a spray bottle solution with eucalyptus oil and water and sprayed my hair every morning all through my school years never had them since.
There are lice clinics. They work well. They are expensive though.
They are certified to treat lice. No hair cutting needed. I have hair down to my butt and they treated me and my son and we were fine afterwards.
I bagged all the stuffed animals for a few weeks on top of cleaning sheets, blankets, pillows, couches, carpets etc.
Tea tree oil works well. Mix it into a small bottle of shampoo, put on wet hair in the bath and leave on for 10 minutes.
We had it over and over and I tried all of these products. I swear they’re super lice. This is the best money I’ve spent. Even after doctor prescribed crap and trying diatomaceous earth. LiceKiller.Com – The Best Head Lice Treatment
Worth all the money. I got two kits and we haven’t seen lice since.
I’ve made my own treatments, store products, Amazon products. Then really researched different things. This is the only one that has completely ridden me of those bugs
Their is a new strand of lice that doesnt respond to an over the counter. Your best bet is to call your child’s pediatrician. That’s what we had to do to for my child.
His head may be irritated from the process. Make sure all knits are removed bc they hatch every 7/10 days and can multiply fast. Alcohol is an immediate killer. Put a spray bottle on 90% isopropyl and spray everything. Chairs mattress Floors. Definitely repeat in a weak. Good luck
Alcohol. My niece has extremely thick curly long hair and her parent would put rubbing alcohol on her hair and a shower cap. Stay in a well ventilated area though. I was skeptical at first but it really does work. I think they left it in for about an hour
Suffocate them… put all items in garbage bags and tie them shut and get the air out of them. Everything…pillows, stuffed animals, sheets, blankets, pillow cases etc. Usually about a week and you’re good.
The Mayo suffocates them too. Leave it in your hair for 24 hrs with a bag over your head. Doubles as a good conditioner if anything.
I’ve had lice 3 times as a kid. Not fun at all
There is a comb that uses 1 double A battery. It zaps lice and eggs as you comb through. Best thing I used - and I tried all the usual suggestions. I went through it w my daughter when she was younger. She got it from school- uggh! I got it the comb at Walgreens
Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo will do the treatment for the itching. I’ll swear by this. YEARS ago my littlest one could not get ride of the eggs or live lice. I treated her with this because a co-worker told me about it. I promise you no medicine worked. I even put the shampoo and diluted it in a spray bottled and sprayed my home. I have never had a issue since. Both my daughters when they were little had hair below their bottoms. Best of luck!!!
Wash and dry your bedding. There is a spray for your furniture and carpet. They dont live long on fabric surfaces but can live on the fabric surfaces. Vaccum your carpet. If you have stuffed animals put them in a garbage bag and grt them out of your house. Spray your beds with the chemical that can kill the beds.
When my daughter would get it I would put some lavender oil with rubbing alcohol and water in a spray bottle. Comb out her hair with a flea comb since the teeth are closer together. Did it twice a day. Washed hair with coconut shampoo and conditioner gone within a week and she has super thick hair.
just went threw this with my three kids. i had to go to a lice clinic (yep they have them) it cost me $495 for us four and my grandma. it worked 110%.
they checked our heads.
they took a hydration machine on our whole head. 30 seconds on each spot. and it’s very HOT. then they put some oil to kill anything that was left behind. keep oil in for a hour then wash out. next day our head was CLEAR! you can buy the oil online $10.
you can itch up to TWO weeks bc the lice was biting you…
also. you don’t have to wash. throw everything in the dryer 30 minutes.
vacuum anything you can then take a LENT roller and pass on everything after. make sure you do car seats and your car. everything!!
There is a spray you can buy called Lice Free, they also have a gel. Both work VERY VERY well! Wash everything you can wash in the hottest setting and dry the same way. Anything you cant wash, pillows, stuffed animals etc you can put in the dryer on the hottest setting and dry 2 cycles. Spray mattress, couch, chairs anything that cant be washed or dried with the lice spray then vacuum also dont forget to treat your car! Lice is a pain in the a**
They have a head lice salon that will make sure they get alllllll the eggs out. If u even miss one then its gunna keep coming back over and over again. You also have to clean and vacumn down your whole entire house and put all of your stuff in plastic bags for 14 days. They like to live in beds, couches, stuff animals, anything soft like that so all that stuff should be thrown away or bagged. The salon has spray for your house, and another your spray on your head everytime u leave your house to prevent it. I work in daycare so i spary me and my kids every morning. There is a few families that get it every few months becuase they are not cleaning right.
I’ve raised 4 girls in public school so I have definitely dealt with head lice. The best product that I have used is called Lice Ice ($10 amazon) it goes on your hair like a hair gel and hardens . Let set then shampoo as normal. I was Absolutely amazed! Paired with a good comb everything came out even nits in the finest parts of hair. I never had to re do their hair with the product either. I do however continue to comb with a good lice comb atleast once a week just to make sure there is not reinfestation. Wash all bedding in hot water and dry (in this summer heat, I used my clothes line) Bag up all stuffed animals etc. I have a portable steamer, so I steamed all of their beds frames and floor also. With the lice ice you can also put it in a spray bottle and spritz their hair around problem areas to help them not get it anymore it also says you can use in your wet hair like a normal hair gel for styling. You can also call your pediatrician for a prescription lice medication.
I also found that after you treat they hate heat so blow dry your hair as dry as you can daily for at least 2 weeks always helped when my kids were young and got it from school.
My daughter caught it twice when she was younger, both times we use 1/4 bottle tea tree oil mixed with a half bowl conditioner, we used suave.
Let it sit on hair fully saturated for about 30 to an hour. Make sure to cover hair with plastic cap during this time.
Make sure you have a metal love comb.
Do not rinse hair. Get to get a plastic comb. Section the hair out in 4 parts. Starting from the very bottom part of the bottom section start combing the hair with the lice comb. And work your way to the top.the conditioner and the oil keeps the bugs from crawling they will be paralyzed.Make sure you have a towel to wipe off the conditioner from the comb as you go through it. When done wash hair as normal do this once a week until gone it normally only took me two times.
For spraying your furniture down you will use a mixture of alcohol and tea tree oil. This has worked for me I got this recipe from a friend of mine and we both swear by it.
This may sound really weird but wen my niece had it nd I got it from her we used Pine Sol (yes) the one people use to mop there floors with… It did wonders for us, they were gone within a week or so… Lather ur head real good nd make sure not to get in eyes, let sit a couple of mins then rinse out, then comb. Do it again in 6/7 days… But you also have to wash down the whole house…
Vacuum everything and spray with lysol. Put any toys that have hair or fur liked stuffed animals in a plastic bag for 2 weeks (preferably outside if possible). Wash both your hair and your sons hair with dawn to kill any live bugs. Use Nix or Rid and keep in over night. Wash out the next morning and comb strand by strand to get any nits out. Get tree tea oil and put about 2 tablespoons in a new bottle of shampoo to prevent them from coming back. Wash all bedding in hot water and high heat. Wash any clothing that may have been worn. Get rid of brushes and combs and buy new ones. Boil any hair ties or jus throw them out and get new ones.
My recommendation is to go have them professionally treated. I did this with my daughter and was the best money I ever spent.
Oh girl go get Adams flea and tick shampoo! It’ll save you a ton!
Combs only get the bugs. You will have to pick each nit out one by one. There’s lice now they call “super bugs” some are ginormous but others can be almost to invisible. The body looks almost clear but can resemble a little spec of dirt I’m assuming it’s the insides of the bug. You literally have to scratch it to make it move. I hate those kind. They’re harder to get rid of than normal lice. I know where I am located the hospital has a new machine that is similar to a vacuum and it sucks the nits out.
Ive used hand sanitizer and 73% alcohol also just put it in your scalp let sit and wash out. Might take a couple times. Clean all bedding and vacuum carpets
Apple cider vinegar mixed with baby oil really helped me get it out of my kids hair after you apply it let it sit for about 30 to 40 mins rinse it out with coconut suave shampoo and tea tree oil drops as you art combing out nits blow dry and you guys will be lice free repeat the process in 7 days and it helps if you spray tea tree oil if you’re going to be around ppl and want to be on the safe side or just add some drops in your shampoo and it will do the trick
So I know im gonna sound super weird but it works get the yellow listerine and drinch your hair in it for no more than 10 minutes rinse out and wash it works so great and is pretty cheap
Tea tree oil is the best I have used many times when my daughter brought it home from her fathers house
Headrin and tea tree shampoo. Will kill anything.
Keep hair tied up as much as poss.
I would still treat your girls hair regardless.
You also should beg any stuffed animals and tie them up and leave them in a tight sealed bag for a couple weeks
Vaccum your furniture. Any stuffed animals or anything put in a black trash bag for 2 weeks.
Tee tree oil in the shampoo… or mayo in the hair will make it easy to get it all out without shaving his head… we had to do that once with our boys… remember to put all bedding and stuffed animals in plastic bags for at least 48 hrs to kill everything thats on them.
Use listening mouth wash soak hair wrap in bag for 2hours spent lots of money on all other stuff and this worked the first treatment
The itching is from the bites already there. Use black Jamaican castor oil. Leave on at least an hour. That will dissolve bugs. But not the eggs.
Most important thing you have to do is comb comb comb every nit has to come out. It’s can be tedious and if u leave even 1 egg it can reinvest in 3 days
Instead of mayo use olive oil
U can shave his head down to 1/2 inch. Then have him use a tree oil shampoo.
Don’t forget ALL hairbrushes and combs
Use tea tree oil also
Buy a Nitty Gritty comb, use it to condition their hair regularly. It is so fine it even removes the eggs, no chemicals and lovely condition hair!
Saturate head in mayo not miracle whip leave on at least 2 hours. Wash out then rinse with white vinegar. Lice and eggs will easy come right out. Sterilize all brushes and combs, hair accessories wash, heat treat and spray all beds and furniture. Bag up what ever material toys, studies etc that cant be washed for 2 weeks
Dye your hair. Chemicals kill them all. Speaking from experience.
I think the health dept will help
Always use hair dyer after washing your hair and children the heat will kill the lice
Put trea tree oil in your shampoo and kids shampoo. My kids got lice once front their dad visiting for a week and since then we have been good with the tea tree. Will keep the lice away. Put stuff animals in a garbage bag and place out side for about a week. It will suffocate then and kill them.
Buy bulk mayo and use that on your heads for 90 mins It suffocates the hatched lice. It’s cheaper and safer than the chemicals.
Wash it all out and use a comb to get out eggs. Do both parts every day for a week.
Grab trash bags and place all stuffed animals and toys that have fur into them. Seal it off well, that will suffocate them and in two weeks wash them. (Put them in your garage during this time).
Wash pillow cases and bedding daily.
I know the mayo thing sound nasty but it works.
Once all lice is gone remember that lice love clean hair. So yes bath your children daily but dont wash their hair every time, the natural oils in your hair help keep them away.
They chemicals my be irritating his head so maybe no more chemicals for him also just because you dont see any doesnt mean they arent there.
Good luck!!
There’s a website Mothersagainstheadlice.com which will direct where to buy EVERYTHING YOU NEED for the #of heads you need to treat. We just went through this w my grandkids. It’s guaranteed to work & it did. Treatment for the hair, home, laundry & auto. Also, tea tree oil in shampoo or Dollar General sells a Lice Preventive shampoo w all the oils in it. We almost went crazy too. Prayers for you!
I got them from my ex-boyfriends daughter. OMG! I didn’t know why my head itches and then I saw one. Holy f word, did I freak. I live 60 miles from town so I smeared mayo in my hair and capped it all afternoon.
Used a cat comb and got adults bits and eggs out. Mayo worked great. I used bug spray everywhere and washed what I could and dried things that could be washed. They were forever gone.
After that I wouldn’t take her in summer… all I would need is bedbugs next😝
I’ve had to use this on my granddaughter and it works very well. Also anyone that has said tea tree oil is so very right!! I put a few drops in a water spray bottle and spray durnitire book bags and even use on hair!! Can also put a few drops in your shampoo. Also every time you shower and shampoo and conditioner when you have the conditioner in your hair run that life comb they it. I promise it helps.
Best stuff I ever bought came from the dollar general! Called Licefreee. It doesn’t have the harsh chemicals like nix and the others. It worked better than anything! You can’t just treat the head, you have to treat your whole house, bed sheets, pillows, blankets, clothes. Otherwise you will never get rid of them
Put alcohol in ur head…cover head with something n leave in all day…kills lice…
Dont forget the car seats
The lice bite your head when you have them, so even if you get rid of it all, the itching won’t go away until the bites heal completely, which takes time if he keeps scratching them open. Try not letting him scratch so they can heal.
When I was a kid we got lice so bad from a summer camp. The lice shampoo didnt even touch them. My mom heard from a friend that soaking the hair in yellow lysol mouth rinse and covering with a plastic bag helped her family. We did it and it worked like a charm! We slept in the bag and showered like normal the next day and they all died. I swear by it
So lice cannot love off a human after 24 hours. The best treatment is the leave home (if possible) for at least 24 hours. So after treating all your heads, you come home, and just have to clean up (vacuum floors and couches and wash bedding). I even threw brushes in boiling water, don’t forget those. Tea tree oil is a great prevention tool as well.
He is going to be itching for awhile even after they are gone. Make sure you repeat the treatment 7 days later. If you dont you have to start all over.
I am 37 years old with 5 kids and had to deal with it for the first time in my life. It’s horrible.
I had a bad intervention with them. Spent hundreds of dollars in soap, spray for furniture ect. A lady told me to put Cokeacola on my head for 5 min. Did the trick.
Boys you can shave there head and be done also rubbing alcohol let it sit and the white vinegar for an hr wash it and go threw it also for adult women you can just dye your hair the dye kills it for your lil girl the shampoo works do it ever 14 days till it’s gone and tea tree oil in your shampoo and conditioner or even peppermint oil will work it also works for keeping other Bugs out of your house
They are also super lice nixs doesn’t work anymore. The school nurse said they have become immune to it. I used it the first time and it never killed them. Plus they can go back to school which I don’t get with. They were using mats on the gym floor even after all kinds of kids got lice. I finally had to do the haircut and fairytale for after care. I did olive oil in hair, covered overnight then vinegar next day.
I use Fair Tales Rosemary repel spray…Paul Mitchell Tea Tree shampoo as prevention for my kids. Even with using comb from kit…a good idea to comb through hair and anywhere you see sac on hair near the root…pull hair out. That is what my mom had to do with me when I got it in elementary school. Hope ir goes away quickly for you.
The only thing that worked for my daughter was a prescription from the pediatrician it was horrible I spent tons of money on that rid stuff even did kerosene in her hair I feel your pain Wash everything in hot water even teddy bears and stuffed animals
Seems your doing everything right but He will probably scratch for a while as the nits leave bites throughout head so until they heal properly. Also sometimes the formular you put into there hair can irritate the scalp.
Love heros clinic, they also have a product that you can purchase that you spray a little in their head before school or sleepovers and it repells them and keeps them from getting Otto your hair. it is all natural so no chemicals, no burning of the scalp, and dies not dry out hair. I have been using this product for years on my kiddos and we haven’t had live in a very long time.
I use vamousse…you can use it daily…let it sit in your hair and wash out…I would then great the head with medication when it’s safe too…I think 7to9days it says…and I would comb through hair every other night…I had 2 daughters who got lice and it was a pain!
You have to get every bit out. The shampoo doesn’t kill them. If you don’t get EVERY one they will just keep coming back. I have 4 daughters that used to come home from school with head lice at least 10 times in a school year. They got really good at just laying there and letting me get every bit. It’s a job but necessary.
Definitely don’t forget to re treat pack up any stuffed animals. A trick for you since you have to treat yourself is dye your hair at home…it kills them at ALL stages
I used one of the kits. Earlier this year my son had lice from school and I thought he had stuff cus I’ve never dealt with it and didn’t see anything. So I was lucky enough that he had it for a couple of days and then he picked out one from his hair and said “see mom this is what I’m talking about” and I looked it up and felt so bad. He said he knew it was lice cus one girl last year had it and when he went to the office he saw the nurse pick it from her head. Honestly I lucked out and it was only him but mayo is good too good luck!
