What can I give my toddler in place of cow's milk?

My son used Nutramigen formula for the first year or so.

Try oat milk the extra creamy it’s almost exactly like regular milk with a hint of oat or can get the vanilla and try that

My mom use to put dk Karo syrup in cow’s milk and she never talked about kids being bound up. Maybe a little syrup will help

Fairlife milk :milk_glass:. It’s lactose free. Had the same problem with my daughter.

My son had the same problem When he was young. The only thing he could tolerate was goats milk.

Try almond milk. (If child is not allergic to nuts)
Theres A2 milk that is gentler on the stomach

Well ive given mine powder milk known as “Nido”

After 1 year they don’t really need milk. You can continue giving formula with more water than needed or just stop giving milk.

My boys drank lactaid milk when they were babies

Either goats milk or Soy. My youngest couldn’t tolerate dairy so we went with soy

My son drank rice milk, didn’t give him cows milk

Try lactose free. My little girl drank soy milk for 5 years with no problems. You can also do what they did in the old days. A little Karo syrup to keep them from getting constipated

Oat milk. My daughter did not do good with regular milk. I havent had an issue since I switched

Could possibly ask your child’s pediatrician about using a small dose of mirilax for constipation.

Cows milk isnt really good for any of us for the most part. Try Pea milk, oat milk, or coconut milk

Before we had all this almond and soy and oat milk. We used goat milk.

Try goats milk. My aunt rejected cows milk as an infant, before formula, but thrived on goats milk.

My mom has to give me 1% milk when I was around that age because I had the same problem

Have you tried Lactose milk it worked for my granddaughters

Also if he will drink it try giving him prune juice that will help with the constipation

When I had to stop breastfeeding my doctor recommended goat’s milk for my son.

you could try silk millk my nephew is lactose intolerant that’s what he drinks

Also holding stool can be a sign of a psychological problem or abuse may want to talk to dr about her and her care givers

My granddaughter had same issue her pediatrician had her give her mirapex in her milk once a day and it really helps her

Rice milk,hemp. But have to be careful because other milks don’t have the fat; my kids had to be on formula until 2 because need fat for Brain development

Have you tried a full fat yogurt? Or a different pediatrician? I’ve heard kids need the fat in milk until about age 6 for brain development.

There is formula that is for older toddlers up to 3

Almond milk. Oat milk. Cashew milk. Soy milk. I never ever give my sons cows milk.

Also id try the probiotic yogurt milk found next to the yogurts in a pint there just as health as cows milk

Buy A2 milk, it’s cows milk but less hard hard on tummy’s, most stores carry it. Google A2 and read about it

Try Fairlife whole milk. Its lactose free but real milk.

Did you just start potty training? Sometimes its s resistance to training that makes them hold the bowels which then harden and hurt

Vanilla almondmilk is what my girls drink because allergic to milk(not lsctose) and soy.

The old school way is to put a teaspoon or so of white karo syrup in the milk and it will keep them from being constipated. I have 5 kids (grown now) but that’s what I used and it works. This is what they use to do back in the day when there wasnt formula or other things for babies my grandmother told me about it.

I mix 1% milk and half with water for my granddaughter…Helped alot

Keep her on the formula until 2…don’t feel bad about it she is your child

Have you tried caned milk or adding used to be called Karo syrup was mixed with it to regulate the bowels. Like a tablespoon or of course less. May be add a syrup to the cows milk.

Try chocolate almond, cashew, or plant based milk.

My daughter had the same issue. Switched her to 2% & she was fine.

Just put Miralax in a glass a day its tasteless.

She could be having an issue with the protuen in the cows milk so you could try the A2 milk or goats milk

Kids don’t need milk but there are many options like cashew, almond, hazelnut milk.

Have you tried fairlife? It tastes just like milk bit it doesn’t have lactose

How does she do with cheese and other dairy products?

I wonder if maybe it’s the lactose in milk??? That’s what it does to my stomach. Try lactose free milk.
