I used zincofax and Aveeno diaper rash creams.
Clean and dry area. Apply antifungal cream like lotrimin (desitin too weak). Then put on a heavy coat of zinc oxide or other heavy barrier. Do this every time you change diaper. Always works. A pharmacist

Dry cornstarch. No ointments, just sprinkle the cornstarch on the rash and diaper loosely. When my oldest daughter got a really bad diaper rash, that is what I used. I swear by it. Within a few hours, rash gone.
