What causes heavy periods and cramping?

Hot bath, heating pads!! Only thing that really works for me😖

Probiotics and or turmeric helps me and I’m 5 months pp

I have adenomyosis and Everytime I had a child it aggravated it/made it worse. BC helps. If it’s something after your last child then a check up with OB-gyn is needed.

Heading pads are my life saver I have heavy periods on the normal it sucks

See your Dr. Hormones change and it could be any number of reasons.

Endometriosis possibly go to a gynaecological appointment and get checked asap as it could get worse if you dont get checked

My daughter was that way and I got her than midol complete it has to be the complete and you can tell a difference in her mood swings just by taking that

I’m actually thankful for the past 2 years or so I’ve only had two periods in 2 years but December or this last year I had one I could not literally move any part of my body that it was not running like a faucet I could stand up and all of it would come out at one time so I had a washer full of clothes the last time I seen my he did blood test said he couldn’t feel nothing in there and the test come back negative but he said my hormones were high and you said that would cause me not to have a period it’s not menopause or anything like that yep it only happens about once a year now I’ll see a little bit of pink here and there for different months but that’s all I get I’m actually thankful for it so that I don’t care about having it

Oh of course you need to go to the doctor to have it checked but I will tell you a little secret that I’ve had two doctors tell me and that is if you get that pain reliever naproxen and take it while you’re on the period it makes you quit bleeding as much

Do you do heavy lifting? Regardless what helped me was protein shakes sounds dumb but it really helped

I’ve noticed with me they have gotten worse as I’ve gotten older I’m 44. Not everyone is the same. I’d speak with your Dr.

Pamprin is way better than midol. 4 advil works also. Heating pad…hotbath…not to hot. I have bleed like a stuck pig for years…moody…thank goodness it is all starting to go away. Menopause is a blessing.

I would see your Dr. I had that problem and it was. Endometriosis and it is very painful I had to get a hysterectomy and I’m 28

I had all the same issues after having my second. Honestly the only thing that helped me was switching to a diva cup. Complete 180

Call your gyn, sorry for saying ob

You could have fibroids in your uterus; this caused very heavy periods before I had a hysterectomy to take care of it.

Get a vaginal ultrasound. Seriously. I had severe pain for over 4 years and when I finally went I had a load of things wrong and ended up having to have a complete hysterectomy. Go to doctor now.

Not sure if you’ve had the jab or around anyone that has. It’s a severe side effect. They’ve even had a 22 month old pass huge blood clots because she was around her grandparents all weekend after they had it. Lots of miscarriages and post menopausal women bleeding heavily. Not sure if this is your cause or not.

Call your gynecologist, my daughter has gone through this for years and turns out she had polyps.

Are you on birth control? I find some forms of birth control make PMS sooo bad and periods much more painful

Definitely get checked out by your doctor! I had these same issues and the ob suggested the mirena iud. It has helped immensely!

Take it out if you are finished having babies. I went through terrible menstrual cycles after having my daughter. Turns out my uterus was full of fibrous… A partial hysterectomy fixed it. I still have my ovaries.

Talk to your doctor about your issues. I went to see a surgeon about a hysterectomy after my pcp and discussed it. Since I was unable to take 6 weeks off at the moment, she mentioned an Endometrial Ablation. It’s only been 2 months but it has helped my pain and other issues so far. May be worth talking about with a doctor.

These are not “normal” symptoms I had terrible never ending periods when I had fibroids. Had a hysterectomy it was the best thing I ever did.

Black Colosh is a great supplement that works. Helps with hormones, mood swings, heavy periods. I order mine off Amazon!

I developed bad cysts after I had my youngest. That sounds like how I was feeling before I got on birth control. But definitely check with your gynecologist.

See your Gym and don’t leave his place until he says what you are to do

Naproxen helps me when I’m out of control
Happens more than Id like after having 6 kids

My gynecologist recommend 800 mg of ibuprofen every 6-8 hrs to slow down bleeding and help with cramps

Sonething to do with your hormones after birth. Call your ob asap.

Go straight to the doctor!

I woukd recommend seeing a dr, if you cant see your genral practitoner or an obgyn straight away and are in alot of pain and have heavy bleeding go to the emergancy department straight away they will be able to give pain relief and start investigating the cause (ultrasound etc)

I had similar issues. It took 2 years before I decided to have my uterus removed. I had adenomyosis. My uterus was 4 times the normal size. It was awful. I tried lots if alternatives before I opted to have a hysterectomy. I still have ovaries.

I had an ablation to stop my periods. Be sure that you are finished having children, though. The ablation removes your uterine lining so you no longer bleed. You can still get pregnant but it won’t be a viable pregnancy.

See your obgyn. Most women have fibroids, but only some women are lucky enough to have period pain and heavy bleeding. Mine were bad enough that I got a hysterectomy at the age of 45. There are other things you can do, including a myomectomy and an oblation, although you probably need to be done having kids. Get a diagnosis first, then figure out how to help yourself. It really sucks to have awful periods.

The only good thing about fibroids is they shrink as you get older due to less hormone production.

Try Evening of Primrose oil…. Natural and no side effects, at least for me. It helped a lot with PMS just before I started each month. Painful cramps… I got nothing. But I do know how you feel…. :pensive:

I would go to the doctor or the ER because everybody is different. And I would want to know if there is something terribly wrong. Maybe at the hospital you could get a prescription that could take your terrible pain away until you can get to your primary care physician. Also how long has it been since you’ve had a gynecology appointment?

I had this issue after my last of three as well. I had ruptured after the csection. So there was that. Ibuprofen is the best for cramps due to the Anti-inflammatory in it. Advil or generic form worked better than prescribed pain killers. You need to talk to your doctor. I had post pardon depression they diagnosed me

You really need to get checked out. If this isn’t normal there may be something amiss. If everything has the all ok, ask your doctor about a Merina iud device. They are amazing and most won’t get periods at all. They are a godsend. This can also be removed if you want more children in the future.

I had heavy bleeding and terrible cramps caused by fibroid cysts.

I had horrible periods and usually went to bed for the first couple of days. They always lasted 7 days too with a lots of vomiting. I took prescription pain pills and used a heating pad. I had endometriosis. I finally had a hysterectomy which one of the happiest days in my life. I sure hope that you can find a remedy soon.

Hormone changes have a lot to do with it. After my 2nd child I had postpartum thyroiditis, and my periods were so unbelievably heavy i developed anemia. After cycling through all these different birth control types, none of which helped, I got an ablation surgery. My periods are now gone. Hopefully they can resolve it through hormone treatment but for me it just didn’t work

I had four kids and the last three boys, I never had cramps as bad as I did after the boys were born.
Luckily it’s all over as I’m in my 60’s. I just suffered with it.

For me,it was fibroids. The day I had a hysterectomy was the best day of my life.I had 3 children and now no more pain.

I had the same problem. Had an ablation, pathology came back precancerous… ended up having a total hysterectomy… See a dr ASAP… could be precancer or worse case cancer

Did you get the Covid vaccine? Some females are having heavy bleeding with periods after being vaccinated.

Aleve will slow the bleeding and cramping, but only aleve, nothing else I know of from over the counter

Could be the fibroids. Let someone know so you get the 800 mg Tylenol. Works like a charm when I had that. Couldn’t even stand up straight.

Everyone is different I use to drink a cup of hot tea with lemon an honey an or lay flat on back bottom against couch feet on couch
