When did you let your daughter shave her legs?

Why is this about "letting "them?if they would feel more comfortable what would be the harm???

Thanks you for posting…my girls are no where near this age but I’m sure it’s coming my sisters did mine because it bothered them no one showed or talked to me!

Be forewarned … when you start shaving … you have to keep it up and the hair comes back thicker and heavier … For a child You should really consider those body hair remover machines… or plucking to remove more permanently. I would let her make the choice now she is getting to age that puberty begins. I had girls in my class in grade 4 that had started their cycles. If she is starting to feel self conscious support her but I have heard women say they think shaving earlier on in life causes thicker hair later. Not sure if that’s true.

My granddaughter is 12 she still hasn’t shaved them yet. But her hair is light

When she gets hair under her arms, it’s time to shave.

How about trying Nair?

I say if she’s asking for it, then it’s the right time.

I feel like if she’s asking its a good time to start

When you and her are ready mama :raised_hands:t4: some don’t need to til later on (my girl was 12 as her leg hair was blonde til she hit puberty - then it started growing black and thick) she asked me and I told her the truth… there are no rules and regulations to shaving babe… it’s an action we do that helps our self-confidence :woman_shrugging:

It’s not a gateway to piercings or anything :grimacing::rofl:

never asked just started doing it myself like 12 didnt have much hair til then :woman_shrugging:t4:

My daughter just did it, didn’t ask me😂

I was 9 when I started shaving.

i was 10 i stole my moms razor and did it my self with out her knowing :woman_shrugging:t3::joy:

I was 9-10 and I didn’t even have a reason other than I grew pubic hair and didn’t like it  And I still don’t like it :weary::woman_facepalming:t3:

When they are interested…

Whenever she feels like she’s ready.

My daughter was 10, but bless her, she was in a 34b bra and 5’6.

I learned to shave when I was about 9 I believe, maybe 10. I didn’t ask. I turned the razor sideways and had a big cut on my thigh for awhile. Just show your baby how.

Mine was 9 or 10 . She was self conscious

Whenever it starts embarrassing them.

My daughter is 10. I just taught her

5th grade I remember I was so excited to get a silk affects razor for my birthday :woman_facepalming:

My daughter was around 10

I wasn’t allowed until I was 13.

Mine started when she was 11

If she is uncomfortable now is the time

If she’s asking, she’s ready. Others have probably already pointed it out to her. Take her shopping so she can get her lotion and razors. Find a shave cream/lotion without chemicals since most if not all chemicals in product are endocrine disrupters.

I was 9.

Let her. She shouldnt have to feel like that.

If she does competiton I say now

I think i was about 13 but im blonde and you cant even see my leg hair, im 24 now and not shaved my legs in probably 5 years :joy: What about letting her use hair removal cream rather than shave? Its safer and easier x

Whenever it gets in the way of her self esteem

I was grade 5 so 9/10

Have her Nair them. I will let my daughter do it when she asks me to.

Whatever age they need to.

Let them…when it makes them more comfortable…with themselves…

Get that girl some Nair so she feels better xo

believe me they grow back lol

Middle school…for gym class

Just a few months ago… She’s 11

Tell her she will regret it shaving sucks. Don’t care what people think

My mom let me use the nair? Cream or whatever for a long time I was in 5th grade :woman_shrugging:t3:

When she asked to learn

My daughter is 10.and shaved her legs on her own. She is not very hairy and the hair was blonde. But its her body so its her call. If it bothers her maybe just let her

When she needs to so yes now x

Mine started at 10.she is a dancer

Also if she is in competitive sports the less hair the better

My kiddo was developing breasts at 6 years old… She started her period at 8… I let her shave at 8… I taught her and supervised her the first couple times…
I guess because puberty hit her so young, she always acted older than her age and was a pretty responsible good kid for the most part… So i could trust her at 8 with a razor alone…
But every kid is differrnt and nobody knows their kids better than their mommas and dads… So use your judgment and itll all go how its supposed to.

8 I was a monkey lol

I was about 10 when i started.

Whenever she’s super hairy

Whenever my kid asked

If she’s self conscious about it I’d say allow it, or maybe try those hair removal creams

My daughter used nair for the first year or so

I started on my own at 11 or ten

My daughter is 10 and shaves

I was 11 . But I was very hairy . I did not know that I had pcos untill an adult . Which explains hair

I was 12 but I wasn’t a competitive gymnast lol

I think I was 9-10 when I started shaving. If she’s asking, she’s ready.

I’d let her if she asked

If she’s a competitive gymnast then let her. It will help performance

My daughter is 10, i let her

I let my 11 and 8 year old try it, my 11 year old only does it on occasion and my 8 year old decided it was unnecessary and too much work :woman_shrugging: hasn’t caused any issues in our house

My mom let at about 15

11 has been our age in our family

And yeah some girls be mean af

I was like twelevebut I mean if she feels uncomfortable I wouldn’t see why not? :woman_shrugging:

I think I was 13 or 14

I think i was around 9

About that age I was shaving

I was 13. I think my daughter was about the same age.

If she has asked leave her shave.

When they become embarrassed over it.

I started 9-10 years old.

6th grade for me. I’m 34 now!

Whenever it’s necessary

THey don’t cut them self

Immac is another option.

I think I was 13 or 14

I rather let my young one use nair

As soon as she asked.

I was about 10 or so.

We started daughter with nair …

When she began growing hair.

Whenever she shows interest, and show her how to.

Get her a $5 shave club box!

Address your child as an individual

Time to let her shave her legs !! Wow

Dont body shame your daughters

This past month I just taught both my 12 year olds how to shave. I didn’t want them to do it too early and have to deal with the pain in the a:boom::boom: of it all the time plus I wanted to wait until they were big enough to want to continue to shave on a regular basis and not let their hair grow back

At that age, use Nair

Age 15. Only the legs.

Nair no razors plus lasts longer and no cuts

When you daughter asks.

If she asked you then yes , I would :woman_shrugging:

I never asked my mum, my body, my choice
