When should I get my daughter a bra?

Change her diet and get her more active. See if her hormones balance out. Six is way to young to start developing.

I was 1st grade when I got my first one I was a B cup already by the ti.e I was 9 I was a small D . so get her one maybe a sports one let her pick it out make a girls day out of it

My boyfriend’s daughter started on a sports bra at 7. Now she is 10. It’s still a sports Bra. But it had the removable cushion. Which is good for her. Shes slightly bigger in that area. So the extra cushion works for her. And now she won’t leave the house without it

Mine started when she was 8/9 not positive and she is tall and skinny.

My daughter asked to get her first one at 6 (almost 8 now) She is small and not developed but she feels more comfortable wearing a sports bra under her clothes.

My daughter loves sports bras :slightly_smiling_face: she’s almost 10 I think a sports bra would be a lot more comfortable for her :slightly_smiling_face:

My daughter is 7 and is on the heavy side when i asked her dr she said shes not developed even though to me she looks like it. She said momma youll definitely know when she develops buds right now its just from her being on the chunky side. She said think about babies who are chunky or toddlers we know they havent developed yet its just from then being chunky. She recently asked if she could wear something under her shirt because she felt embarrassed

At 6 I believe I did tank tops to get them ready for bras. Than about 9/10 I switched to thin sports bras and after that once each daughter needed a bra I bought them.

you get her a bra (training or sports) when she starts getting boobs. Period. bc if you didn’t have boobs would you even wear one? (probably not!)

My niece is 7 and has to wear sports bras

My daughter is 9 has started wearing sport bras since she is playing alot of sports and needs to change after school and feels better with one on

My daughter just turned 9 and she started wearing one around 7, 7 1/2. There are nice training and sports bras for little girls. She has started to develop and needed one. We started with under shirts. I’d maybe suggest under shirts unless she really is developing and needs further coverage.

Mine got them at 7. Simple sports bras, that she can wear playing in the sprinkler, at the beach, sleeping, etc. Pretty much anywhere the boys go topless she wears the sports bra. She is a slight girl, and nowhere near developing. But the boys can run around with no shirt while she overheats… not fair.

When it looks like they have little boobs, get them one.

Walmart has great training bras. My daughter started with sports bras and little cami like ones.

Sport bra…no biggie. I started my daughter at 7ish just said you need a bra and that was that. Not a big deal at all. Don’t even make a deal about it  sometimes my 6 year old likes to throw a sport bra on because she sees me and my oldest wearing one :tipping_hand_woman:

I started with under tee’s or sports bra at 8 with my daughter. It just covered her more and I told her it would be more comfortable which it was for her.

I was in 4th or 5th grade when I started wearing them and I was on the heavier side too. I started with sports bras.

I don’t have older daughters, but my sister is 8 years younger than me. I got her her first one when she was 7-8.

I started my daughter with tiny sports bras at 7 cuz she had outgrown under shirts

Ours were 10 and 11 esh when they started needing them.

Asa they started to develop

I got my daughter little crop top / sports bra things just wee supermarket ones … she’s only 5 but I don’t like to leave her naked with just her clothes and it’s too hot for a vest🤷🏽‍♀️

Mine started this week wearing a training bra/sport bra type. She just turned 9.

My daughter is 6 and developing so I have her wear an under shirt or sports bra and explained to her why…

My daughter is 7 but also a bit bigger… we use them with certain clothing like tight shirts, white shirts, and certain dresses.

I would definitely start with tank tops under the shirts ! My little cousin is almost 9 and that’s what I’m doing w her! I think once she starts showing I’ll start w sports bras!

I just got some for my daughter. She is 9. But depending on your daughter, if you think she needs them now, it wouldn’t hurt. That have some nice ones you can get from The Childrens Place. I told my daughter they are nice because it’s like a shorter under shirt.

My girls started wearing sports bras at age 5. They learned early to get used to them so it wouldn’t be an issue when they needed them. They are 14 & 16 now. Easy peasy.

I started my daughter at 6…but I’m top heavy and she’s the same way.

I started mine on undershirts then cloth bras/sports bras then young girl bras and now my oldest is wearing under wire bras

My daughter is thicker and she’s been wearing a bra since she was 7. We started off with sports bras to help her be more comfortable.

At that age I had my daughter wear an under shirt or tank, around 10 we got the soft cotton sports bras, and now at 13 she’s got the regular teen bras with a hint of padding.

I judged this by if she is showing shape in shirts. My daughter was 7. She’s 11 now and still wears sports bras.

Mine is on the thicker side and she started at 7. Start when the boobies begin to poke out.

I just got my daughter trainers she just turned 10

Mine is almost 9 and wears one

My oldest was 6 when she started with a sports bra because of the same issue. My 5yr old is going through the same thing. We’ll be starting soon for sure!

I got some for my daughter when she turned 5 because her cousin was to the point of needing them and they are very close. I let her wear them when she wants but haven’t enforced it yet.

We started at 6 now she’s 8. She loves that her breast are covered.

Sport bar any time my girls were older when I first got then and had texture problems. 11 & 13 youngest was 8 and very underdeveloped. But she started her cycle first. So because of texture problems it took HOURS of feeling and trying to find them for older girl. I put youngest one in sports from the very day I got her. She still wears smallest sports bra at 21. I am glad the older girls discovered Victoria Secret, married, moved out and go on their own. It still takes hours. Wish someone had taken the time with them before I adopted them.

My seven yr old wears one. Sports bra.

As a bigger early developer, i remember getting one around 11 but i probably could have used one around 9 or 10
At the very least those cloth bras

Get the camis with built in bras or little sports bras

My daughter is 7 and wears a tank top/cami under all her shirts/dresses

Maybe Under shirts , like tank tops to wear under her T shirts to help keep things covered until she’s a little older? Otherwise maybe sports bras.

My daughter started needing one at 6 but my other daughter is 8 and far from needing one. Get her one when she starts developing

I’m not trying to be a smart ass but really? Common sense, instinct/intuition and a conversation with your daughter goes a long way. Jus sayin

When she is ready and if you fill it is necessary… also she may find them uncomfortable. You could always buy camio/ tank to where under clothes.

My daughter is 7(she’ll be 8 end of Aug) we got her 1st actual training bra 2 weeks ago.

I really don’t think age matters. My daughter wore a sports bra when she started kindergarten. Made her feel more comfortable.

My 6 year old is wearing training bras/sports bras depending on the outfit. If you can’t notice them much, I don’t have her wear it, but she has some that you can clearly see she is budding, so I make sure I keep those covered.

My 9 year old asked for one, so I took her shopping for different kinds to get a feel of which one she likes and it comfortable for her.

Sports bra that isnt too tight

Mine will be 8 Ina week and I’m thinking it’s time

I didn’t base it on their age, I based it on when they started growing… I got them the little training bras but when they started growing I went to bras… my girls started a lot sooner than me so they were moving to bras around 10-11

These are really nice because all girls develop differently my now 16 year old wore something similar when she was about 7 my now 7 year old is completely opposite of my oldest

My 9 year old wears training bras but they really just remind me of sports bras. She started wearing them about 8 months ago right around the time she turned 9

When she needs one. If you feel she is too young try undershirts like the spaghetti strap ones.

When she wants one. Bras are terrible. Don’t force kids to wear them. I was forced to wear them from 8 (real ones not training).

I don’t think it has to do with age, but about comfort and when she feels she wants one. There are plenty of comfortable, sport bras/camisole bras that have no underwire. They also have crochet ones. If she’s asking, definetly get her one.

When she starts to show and I would make sure it’s a comfortable bra with no wires in it or a tank top with a built-in one

Same boat . My daughters almost 7 and she’s wearing them!

Well my almost 12yr old started at like 9ish I wanna say. My middle daughter is 10 and doesn’t need one but wants one so im thinking its time to get her one. And well I have another but shes only 2.

My mom started putting training bras on us girls when we where 6.

My daughter is 8 and wears one

At seven I bought bra shaped cropped vests for mine as they act like a bra. By bigger side, do you mean tall or do you mean ought to be doing more exercise and being careful with treats? If the latter it could be fat rather than needing a bra.

Mine is almost 9 and asked for one
Hers is training one for kids.

Sports bra is a great start bra. Every young girl develops differently. A sports bra will be comfortable and serve its purpose while still allowing her to be a little girl inside.

When she starts to develop and is ok with wearing one. One of my girls hated the idea and the other couldn’t wait.:joy:

My youngest was 8 and my other daughter was 10 I think

Maybe get her shirts alittle bigger so her nipples aren’t noticeable. Don’t doom her to have to wear one so soon.

If she needs one, get it for her. There’s so many different styles that you should be able to get something that she feels comfortable wearing and also age appropriate.

It sounds to me as though they are having premature development and really should see a doctor about that.

The best advice I ever heard was at the beginning of a school year at whatever age you feel appropriate. If she starts at the start of the school year instead of mid year classmates may not notice as much.

Victoria Secret has wonderful bras for these young girls, take a look and bring daughter with you.

Whenever she wants it.
Maybe tanks with built in bra for smooth look; I then shorten the tank around ribs for comfort.

When she feels a need for one!! Or when you, her Mommy thinks she could use one to feel more comfortable about herself!!
Some times little girls feel kind of uncomfortable almost naked without something.
My girls wore little white t-shirts when they started school.
When they were 9 or 10. The started to develop. Let them wear a little bra. So they are more comfortable!!

I got my 6 year old bras from Target. She hasn’t began developing yet, but she’s bigger than most girls her age (4.5’ tall and weighs over 75lbs) she’s pretty physically dense.

I was older like 12 but my first ones came from target and kohl’s.

My 5 year old has started she starting developing a little but noticeably so we started now so shes used to them by school

I started my girls on padded training bras since I could see their nipples through their shirts. My oldest at around 7. And my youngest around 6. They are now 14 and 10 and both wear big girl bras with padding.

Age is not the determining factor. Fourteen year olds are now having children with parents’ blessings. Body size and development. A wise involved parent should make the decision with her daughter.

My 9 year old has been wearing a bra starting this past school year. She’s almost 5 feet and probably 110lbs. She’s developed breast tissue already so I felt it was necessary to start wearing the training bras.

Just be a parent and you and your daughter make that decision together. Why must private matters be put on face book for the world to see

Ask your doctor. my daughter was told my granddaughter muscles were forming to put her in a bra she was about 9 so we bought her sports bras

There is no real need to wear a bra. When a person wears one it weakens the muscles used to support the breast tissues. That being said my 9nyear old asked for some because a friend wears them. It was her choice.

The prepubescent period starts around 7 or 8. I gave mine bras per their request. I want them to feel comfortable and confident with their body. One daughter loves the idea of bras, while another loathes them. A for the “seeing nipples through their shirt”…we don’t make boys wear bras to cover that sooo…

I get my bigger girl under shirts with them built in

My daughter is 7. I let her wear sports bras. I think its ok.Just as long as they are not padded that young. Later on when they develop more I think it’s ok for a padded one. But every parent is different.

Now if she has something showing. My grand daughter was 7. We bought her sports bras

If you’re not comfortable with a ‘bra’ at least make her wear a camisole or a sports type.

When I was a child I was mature beyond my years. My family was from Europe. All my aunt’s said it was due to the added vitamins in our food in the 50’s and 60’s.

Was around 13 or 14 A friend gave me some training ones she outgrew

I got my girls little sports bras in kindergarten as soon as they started school that way it became a habit something normal to wear with their underwear so it was never a big deal.

My daughters were on the heavier side and so they needed something on top. So they liked having the sports bras. After they thinned out my youngest actually continued with the sports bra’s. You can also get cami’s with padding if she would prefer that. They have a lot more to choose from since my kids were little. I think these kids are developing so young because they are putting so many hormones into the foods these days.

When you see that she is developing no matter what age she is get her a bra so her breasts don’t wind up sagging because they need that support to grow
